Thanks for the info. A DIY repair for $6 sounds much better than paying $40 to Chaco's and waiting for weeks to get them back. I just ordered the glue, fingers crossed it works!
Any suggestions on cleaning the sole of the chaco before doing this repair? My sole came COMPLETELY off and was just holding on by a thin margin at the heel. I assume cleaning the debris (sand, dirt, etc) off the sole will help the glue work better. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
After about 30000 steps and lots of swimming at rocky beaches, even with proper sanding/ alcohol scrub/ light Vaseline on the straps and 3-4 days of proper weighted curing time, shoe goo doesn't hold up. I've got photos. Looking for a better option currently.
Hi, totally unrelated, but I know you have worked on a lot of thermal printers. Do you happen to know how to disable calibration on power up or every time I open the head. It feeds 2 labels every time which is annoying. I have a Zebra ZP 450. Thanks
Ohhh the inside strap. Yeah that one you don't want it to get on because it'll stop the chaco from being able to be adjusted. Sorry I misunderstood the question.
@@bryanlozano4887 Had three different professional cobblers do it. The longest they lasted was two weeks and they said they all cured them for over 72 hours. Simply working in the garden, some moisture present. Just seems like a bad product to me
Like the rubber part on the toe? Same concept, but clamp together there, wait an hour or so then peel off excess. I'll do a video on just the tip fix just for you.
I tried to wash mine off in hot water, forgetting it is scalding hot. It made the sole separate pretty badly. Chacos aren’t quality sandals anymore. They used to be really nice when they were made in Colorado, but now they’re cheaply made en masse in china. I had a pair I bought two years ago last one year. The straps just aren’t strong like they used to be as I had a pair that lasted 10 years.
Shoo goo doesnt work. It won'tlast. If u plan to take this "repaired" chacos to a hike/river/ocean adventure. Look somewhere else. This will come apart

You are welcome. It'll work, just avoid those straps 🙌
Nice have passed on many shoes with this same problem. Thanks
You are welcome. All 3 repairs worked really well. One pair sold for over $150, paid $3 and $5 for the goo! 😻🙌

Going to try Barge, which I have used for Kerns...
Awesome sauce. Thanks!
Any suggestions of reattaching fabric liner onto insole pad with this glue?

Same. This solution is wack.
I agree. I thought it would work, it does not.
Do you know if you can sand and paint on the shoe goo?
Wish I had known about this awhile ago!
Me too! Literally been going through my goo growing pains this week 😂🙌
Very nice. Why toss em when you can fix em?
Exactly 🙌♻️

Great!!
Thanks 😌
What happens if the goo gets on the strap?
You could wipe it off before it's dried or peel it off when it's dried.
@@thecollegepicker so it doesn't hurt the strap then

Shoe goo works for about 2 weeks... any better adhesives?
probably bc you didn’t let it cure correctly, it takes 24-72 hours

They are lower quality now and outsourced mostly to china.
