Tickets are too expensive because of the promoters and venues while consumers are pinching pennies in an increasingly volatile economy. Going viral with a grassroots campaign is far more lucrative than launching a tour that won't sell (The Black Keys and so many others have folded tours this year!) Sure, the industry isn't what it used to be, but an artist driving traffic and profits directly to them is not the problem. The man got people in his stores and ordering online directly from his label. Jack hit with a stroke of genius with the release of "No Name." When he tours, he will have sell-out shows like he always does. I won't be there because the last JW concert I went to was an absolute nightmare and I'd rather listen in comfort from home than be harassed and shoved by a-hole bros who want to lick his sweat.
