Jeep JL Wrangler JT Gladiator Auxiliary Switches by Switch Pros Installation on WAYALIFE CB BAR

- Опубліковано 28 лис 2024
- If you've got a Jeep JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator that didn't come with a set of auxiliary switches or maybe it did but you still want more than the 4 switches they give you, you're gonna want a Switch Pros switch system! Available in an 8-switch SP-9100 or 12-switch RCR Force 12, the Switch Pros is a compact, solid state power system that's capable of delivering 125 amps of continuous power. As an added benefit, it's also Bluetooth enabled, can be operated remotely and is fully programmable using an Apple or Android mobile device. Of course, installing an aftermarket switch system like this can be a bit of a challenge in a JL or JT, especially if you're wanting to do it cleanly and it's for this reason that I decided to make a Switch Pros Switch Mount for my CB BAR. In addition to being adjustable to accommodate CB, HAM and Race radios of different makes and sizes, the Switch Mount can also be used to relocate most radios about an inch closer to the windshield. In this video, you'll get to see just how quick and easy it is to install a Switch Pros switch system and onto my CB BAR using my Switch Mount! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Don't - ever - change- the - production- quality of these vids. It's so good. You've achieved Rank #1 jeeptuber in list.
We're truly flattered that you would say as much, thank you. 😊
I just found your channel and I gotta say you're one of the only ones who actually gives a great description on everything you do 🙌🏽
Thank you. I really do appreciate it 😎
I’ve been looking for the right Jeep for over 2 years. The wife says “ you’re not buying someone else’s toy” “You don’t know what it’s been through” She’s right. Well I’m getting close. I’m JK partial but……….. anyway I wanted to thank you for this video. As I learned in the military for 30 years, teach to the lowest level. You are, that’s me. Unlike others, I wanted to thank you for not belittling us or talking done at us. Well done. I thank you.
Thank you and happy to hear you find our videos to be helpful. 😎 Good luck to you on finding the right Jeep.
I just recently bought a 2021 two door jeep Willys, I have been watching videos nonstop! You are by far the best channel, don’t ever change how you do the your videos!! simply awesome!!
Truly flattered that you would say as much. Thank you.
Hello. Here is Korea.
I am your old fan.
The Gladiator officially started selling today.
Your video is very popular in Korea.
Awesome! I'm so glad to hear it 👍
Installed tonight (on soft top). Super easy and the soft-top mounts fit perfectly over top. No issues. If you remove the plastic roll-bar cover on the under side, you can drill a clean hole just next to where the CB BAR attaches and route wiring through that and down the a pillar. With the CB BAR bracket covering the hole, there's nothing in site. For me it was easier to run my wiring through the CB BAR first, and then mount it. Also for anyone in doubt, the grab handle needed a pretty decent yank to get out. It's a sturdy plastic clip. So if you remove the bolts and it just wiggles but won't pull, yank hard.
Awesome! So glad to hear the install was easy and that you're happy with your CB BAR. Nice tip on getting the wires hidden too. 👍
Thank you, you are a natural instructor. Your explanations and content are both straightforward and entertaining!!! Keep ‘em coming !!
Truly humbled that you would say as much. Thank you.
The more I research, the more I want this in my JT. Very clean looking
Awesome! If you haven't seen it already, the bar has been improved since this video was made and you can see it here now wayalife.com/threads/acc-bar-jeep-jl-wrangler-jt-gladiator-overhead-accessory-mount-installation.64450/
Bruh, were you like born in a Jeep...with tools in hand??? That was smooth and flawless. Thnx.
LOL - you're way too kind. Glad you found our video to be informative :)
What radio do you have?
captdunnawayify we’re running an icom race radio
Dude thats sick. I just drove my truck to Arizona for military training wish I could see your rig up close. Thats a good set up.
Glad you enjoyed the video and glad you like our rigs :)
Thank you Eddie. I save links to your videos to a Word document in my Wrangler folder on my computer. I am sure I will need to see this video again later in the year. I know I need lights and therefore switches for my Wrangler JLU Sport.
Your unboxing is bar-non the best entertainment, and all your vids are informational as well as practical. Great channel! Cheers:)
LOL - thank you, we're truly flattered that you would say as much and that you enjoy our videos. 😎
Not only was this video relaxing on a Tuesday night, but man was it informative. You are a PRO... BRO!
LOL - glad to hear it 😊
I'm in a jeep JL in Japan
This channel is very helpful and I often watch it
It would be nice to be able to buy parts even in Japan

I can sell these parts to you but shipping can be cost prohibitive. Contact me through our store or on the forum and I can see if there's something I can do to help.
Just the video I needed! Not installing the CB BAR yet, but I have a tricky wiring situation for off road lights on a 22 JL with Manual trans, and so the plug in the firewall is not available to me. This gave me a great idea how to get the harness from the engine bay to the rear end!
Bro, I'm new to the jeep world and your video was spot on. I got my Switch Pros setup in no time and working perfectly. If you didn't post the link to the Jeep mounting kit, I would have been lost. Thank you
Glad it helped
i dont even drive a jeep but this video explains so much and so good.
LOL - thank you. Glad you were able to enjoy watching our video 😎
Great video, as always. This one really helps, because the instructions on the Switch Pros website are pretty...light...and you really demystified the process for me. I was really unsure how I could attach the light blue wire to an ignition source, but seeing that they include the plug for use within the fuse panel, makes the installation look so much easier than I was anticipating. Thanks for your continued videos and explanations.
Awesome! So glad that we could help you out in this way. :)
I don't even own a jeep, but I really enjoy the videos. I have a 2016 f 150.
LOL - awesome! We're happy to hear it 👍
Very professional and clean setup! I’m gonna be looking at ur CB Bar for my newly acquired TJ. Great vids!
Awesome! Thank you!
Man I wish you had an eco diesel Jeep you would make my life so much better…..either way your videos are the best! Thanks
LOL - I wish it were out when we bought our Jeeps.
@@wayalife sounds like a future sneak peak video 🤣. Appreciate your videos helps a ton many blessings.
Great video as always. Love how pappy is just sitting there... sideways... in the garage almost supervising. Could be the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while. Cheers guys. Miss wheeling with y’all.
LOL - hope we can fix that in the near future.
I wanted to say thank you for a great video. Just installed my SP-9100 on 2020 JT Rubicon.
Awesome! So glad we could be of help to you 👍
Wow! Seems easy but that's because you are the Jeep master. Great video and many thanks for sharing.
LOL - Honestly, it really was about as easy to install as you see in this video :)
I’m glad I found your channel, new gladiator owner here and I can’t wait for the CB Bar to be back in stock. Thanks for the great content.
Awesome! Glad to hear it. I'm just waiting on the main bars to come back from powder coat. Hoping to get them in stock today or Monday.
another great how to by Eddie the Jeep Mods Sherpa! Guiding us all Safely to Jeep Paradise ;)
LOL - too funny. So happy to hear you found the video to be helpful :)
I love your videos. They are well made, to the point and super easy to follow when installing various components to our Jeep. Kudos to the videographer as well! 👍
Thank you. We really do appreciate it and we're so glad that we can be of help to you.
You r an excellent instructor! Thanks for all your time.
Truly humbled that you would say as much, thank you and happy to be of help.
Thank you for the video! My JL’s cigarette lighter has been replaced by the brake controller switch, can I still install this using the instructions regarding the fuses location from this video?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
Eddie , another superb how to video and awesome product spotlight, awesome!
Thank you my friend
You always make installs look so easy. 😀
LOL - thank you.
Best install video I've seen of the switch pros!! Nicely done. Wish I had it when I did my install. I see a CB bar in my future with the switch panel relocation. Love the set up!
Thank you and glad to hear you're wanting to install a CB BAR and this mount in the future. :)
Phenomenal video. I really want a Jeep now. It looks like you can completely customize it to whatever your heart desires. 😎🤙Simply awesome.
So glad you enjoyed our video :)
Excellent Video! EXCELLENT R&D on the plates and bar!
Thank you! We're so glad to hear you say as much 😊
It would be nice if you had an optional CB mount to allow multiple radios. (Full CB, GMRS, Ham) on the bar. Nice clean design, excellent video tutorial. Excellent work.
There are lots of guys who just drill into the CB BAR and install all the things they need including multiple radios. You can find some pics of this on the WAYALIFE forum.
@@wayalife Thank-You. I think you've solved a real pain point for folks that love Jeeps and Radios.
Superb as always! Looks like you always get 2 sets to try one out first so you can be smooth in the video shoot.😀. You work on stuff as if you manufactured them.
LOL - well, I have been doing this Jeep thing for well over 20 years and have installed a ton of products during that time.
Very nice install and in a workman like manner! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Excellent instructional video… Well edited and great camera work… Thanks! Now I just need the Gladiator to go with it…(I do have an 06 TJ).
Thank you. We're happy to hear you liked our video.
You make it look so easy. Thank you for this great video.
LOL - it really is that easy. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Great Video! I never knew that LED are backward! That's a big help :)
Yup, there's a reverse bias in the diodes. Glad we could be of help :)
Very cool. I’ve always thought the trailer package was a must have option but now I see you can after market this as well.
The factory auxiliary switches are nice to have but no, they are not a must and yes, this is a great solution if not better in my opinion.
Thank you. This video was extremely helpful! Companies should have you do their products videos.
Awesome, so glad to hear it and we're flattered by your kind words. 😊
And why I didn't think of that. That is pretty cool tho. Always glad to see your videos.
Glad you liked it!
Been seeing Robbie taking Moby out on some test runs. She's looking good!
Would like to see a video on the updates to Moby someday.
It's coming and hopefully sooner than later :)
Dude, really excellent video. Nicely done! You really make the instruction simple to follow.
Awesome! So glad to hear you say as much 😊
Unboxing’s are off the hook!
Just sayin
LOL - glad you like them :)
Awesome video again thank you Eddie and Cindy!!
Glad you enjoyed it
thanks Eddie for an informative video I always learn alot from your videos
Awesome - glad to hear it
Nice to see your videos again.
Thank you, we're so glad you like them! 😊
Great video. When you installed the studs on the switch panel, I wondered if you were going to leave them protruding like that. Very clean install!
LOL - oh no, I couldn't leave things like that 😎
Thanks for the video Eddie , excellent and informative as always 👍👊
You bet! So glad you found our video to be informative :)
Always been hesitant to add switches to my Jeep but damn, you make this look easy !! Cheers from AZ
So glad to hear it! If you follow our video, it will be just as easy to install on your Jeep, I guarantee it!
Excellent video editing and description. Subbed!!!
awesome! Thank you and thanks for subscribing 😎
Very nice! I’d love that set up! Totally digging the bracket for both the radio and switch panel.
Thanks Rachel 😊
Smooth as Butter 🧈 Thanks Eddie!
LOL - glad you enjoyed it :)
Looks great. Such a clean design. Great job making this all work together.
Thank you my friend :)
Looking at tools on an other page listening to this video in the background when all of a sudden 2:30 "...and then we can thread on these nuts". Guess I'm still not too old for juvenile chuckles.
Dude your a heavy hitter I love your content
LOL - why thank you :)
You certainly make really good videos. Thank you
Truly humbled that you would say as much. Thank you.
I love your videos and just bought the cb/switch/read cb antenna hardware.
Very cool! 👍
Just saw you going the other way in the gladiator that thing is a beast wish I could of cought up to you and check it out.
No kidding, I hope I waved to you :)
I always use dielectric grease on all my connections. Also, nice Icom land mobile radio , hope you your license for it.
Great video! Step by step well explained 🙌🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Eddie another great video. You truly are the JEEP JEDI.
LOL - now that's funny but I do appreciate it 😊
Best Jeep channel on UA-cam!! Love your vids!!
We're truly humbled that you'd say as much, thank you 😊
I don’t like putting any goodie metal to metal... I use the cheap thin silicone mats. I cut them into .5x1 rectangles & put them in between the two items. This way bouncing won’t cause loosening nor allow paint to be damaged by the metal :)
Good to know 👍🏻
Your video is the best!
I love all your content :)👍👍👍
Thank u.
Thank you so much 😀
Eddie awesome vid, keep the install's going man! Thank you!
So glad to hear you're liking our videos 😊
@@wayalife always 👊🏽
Good seeing ya Eddie very cool setup, this is what else I like about your channel you have this down very well on your how to installs class act you make it look so easy 😂 awesome stuff as always be safe an wishing you an Cindy the best 👍👍
Thank you, we really do appreciate it :)
Btw I bought the spidertrax spacers through your link great recommendation
I did also, pretty awesome 😊
No kidding, glad to hear we could be of help to you 😊
Between Switch Pros and sPOD I like that Switch Pros is waterproof. But I don’t like all the wires that are left hanging in the engine bay.
Every electronic device that you install has wires and they have to go some where. The Switch Pros just gives you leads to connect them to. Don't like how long they are? Just cut them short 👍
Love your tech videos. Dying for more wheeling content too. Can't wait!!
Thank you and we're hoping to get more wheeling in as well. Been a tough year with all the big events getting cancelled.
For some reason, i knew you were going to do something with those bolts that were sticking out too much, haha great install, love it!!
LOL - I couldn't leave things like that :)
Great install. Plan to do this mod, seeing I have the CB bar. Great design as well. Have a few other things that have priority, but will be back to get this great mod. Keep it up Eddie.
Awesome, glad to hear it :)
Thank you for your amazing video!
I have a question about dash cam. Is it work for 3channels dash cam’ ACC, and BATTERY?
Thank you 🙏
It’s been a while but always great content, and thank you for removing those studs it looks great 👍🏼 can’t wait for more videos.
Awesome and thank you :)
Great install only thing I would of done different is wire brushed or sanded the paint off the factory grounding stud for a better connection
Good call.
Another great video Eddie. I have a question: It looks like you only removed 4 bolts for the windshield. I tried that, but my winshield wouldn't budge. Do I also need to remove screws from the box containing the rearview mirror and sensors? Also, there is a tiny wire screwed to my windshield. I'm guessing that's a sensor. Do I need to disconnect that as well, in order to open the windshield? Thanks in advance. You have the best Jeep "How To" videos. -peace
That's odd. This is literally the very first time I folded the windshield on my Gladiator. The 4 bolts is all that needed to be removed and if more was needed, you would have seen it in the video.
@@wayalife- Thanks for the quick response Eddie. Maybe the seal is just extra tight on mine? I'm worried about that wire thats connected to the windshield though. I guess I'll go to the dealership to see why I'm having such a difficult time. You and your wife do such great work with your video productions. I'm looking forward to your next one. Cheers 🍻
I honestly can't imagine what wire you might be referring to. There should be nothing attached to the windshield. Good luck in finding the answer.
@@wayalife - Eddie, I think its related to the winter package? I think the wires that are screwed into the windshield are attached to that filament that will heat the window glass? It would probably be easier if I could send you a photo. I'm a member of your JLWrangler.com. Is there a place in there I could post a photo?
@@davidyergensen4509 Yeah, post it up over there. I'd love to see what you're talking about. I've got the cold weather group on my Gladiator and still don't know what this wire is.
Awesome set up I’ve been thinking about an s-pod for my JK. I’m just not good at wiring so I’ll probably take it in lol.
I would highly recommend a Switch Pros. As you can see in this video, installation is super easy and there's no relays or fuses to deal with.
Wayalife where can I get one?
quick question - my fog lights have DRL halos that attach to the same exact wire on those fender lights that you tie into, and my DRLs for my headlights attach to that same F52 fuse the aux switch goes to. How would you wire for this scenario?
At first I thought I would just rerun everything to the aux switch, but would that mean I'd need to take up 2 buttons for my DRLs(1 for fog lights, 1 for headlights), or could I run both of them to 1 switch somehow?
Love the cb bar I’m waiting for them to come back in stock so I can get one
Awesome, we should have more in by the end of next week.
@@wayalife that’s awesome thanks. do you need the switch pod bracket to push the radio back like you did in this video.
I've actually redesigned the CB BAR and now it sits a lot higher up. In fact, it sits above the sun visor now. A relocation bracket will be needed to push the radio closer to the windshield but it will no longer work if you have adaptive cruise control. The sensor on the windshield will get in the way.
@@wayalife awesome thanks that helps I know what to order now. I’ll have to make a video on it for fun.
what are your thoughts on the 4:1 Rock Trac Heavy-Duty Full-Time 4WD System for 2021?
Hard to say how to feel about it being that I haven't had a chance to test it out or see it in use for a period of time. That being said, it at least is a 4:1 and there's something to say about that. Good.
Great Video! Install went flawlessly. 1 question please? Where did you find the 5/32 Allen screws for the display panel. Called Sqitchpros and they don't carry them because they can't find a consistent supply. 1/4" as you know is too long. Keep the vids coming. Thanks for all you do!
Glad the video was helpful. The bolts are the right length if you use the washers that come with the kit. Switch Pros is right about supply of them though. It is in part why I am currently out of stock on the Switch Mounts.
Brilliant. Didn't even think about the washer. Thanks so much.
Bruhh,,, Very clear instructions✊️👊🤙thank You
Glad it helped
I’ve been seeing a lot of WAY A LIFE Jeep’s around Lakeland Florida
Awesome! Lots of good people out that way.
Do you stay around Lakeland Fl
I guess my gladiator is different because there is not that much room between my battery and I have electric modules all in that area. Not to mention my battery is huge in my overland
Great video, can you show us how you mounted your cb antenna on the gladiator? Pretty please?
Awesome outstanding job have a great time thanks
Nice, was looking for a way to mount a HAM radio face and this solved it. Great install video as always.
Awesome, so glad to hear it!
Thanks for the great install video!
Glad it was helpful!
Very good video I have f350 super duty 2020 and I can’t found a place to mount my cb radio any suggestion
Awesome video, thank you! Are you able to wire devices inside of the cab as well (e.g. can some of the switch (colored) wires also be fed under the windshield to under the passenger side dash? Are they long enough)? Thanks!
I think the point is to bring wires to the power module but yes, I would imagine that you could.
Nice install !!! What kind of ham radio are you using?
Thanks! What you're looking at is an Icom race radio.
Badass gladiator build. 👍🏼
Thank you :)
Great video Eddie! Thanks. 🤙🏽
Glad you liked it!
You do a nice job with your videos
Thank you :)
Eddie. That was so much fun to watch.
awesome, glad to hear it! :)
Brilliant i wish you could do one for a newer Tundra
Glad you like what you see. Not sure you could do this without a roll bar though.
Another great video Eddie. One question, will the mounting bracket work with the sun screen I have installed?
Don't know what sun screen you have but I can't see why the mount would affect it especially when it doesn't affect the freedom top or sunrider.
Good point, its the same sun screen you have on your JL.
Does this "kit" come with the auxiliary switches please & if so what is the cost of the kit please. Contemplating on ordering this & the cb bar soon & all at once. Thank you.
Please look at the description of this video. In it, you will find links to everything you'll need or may want to buy to complete the kit.
