I used the Gamo Glow Fire pellet, and was actually about 10 yds away. Normally I use Crosman hollow point pellets because they are more accurate at long range. I've seen more than one bird fall past 100 yds.
omg what pellets do you use...I have a friend who used a .22 cal benjamin with BigBoy wadcutter pellets and the damn thing wont even penetrate the soft sides of a raccoon...given that im trying to figure out if a .177 cal air rifle will penetrate with the right ammo
That was the Gamo glow fire. They don't penetrate very far, but make a huge hole! Crosman hollow points is all I use now-they are very accurate at long range. Actually i now use the Benjamin Trail NPXL .22 caliber. We have used it to drop beef at butchering time. I add special oil on the back of the pellet which gives it almost double power! All it takes is one shot in the head!
that's a loud ass .177

Weird, they normally go mental after a head shot, the nerves going mad! weird this one didn't do that!
Yes, crosman ultramags work well too!
I'll yell you a secret. Add a drop of air gun oil to the back of the pellet to add 30% more power. Thats why it made so much noise.
It was a Gamo Glowfire pellet and I think its 7 or 8 grains.
Pellet? like an air rifle? because it didn't sound like an air rifle!

Nice shot, domed em, that was a glows ire? That went supersonic- what grain is it?
How much long you shoot raccoon 10yard or 20yard are you test 177cal ruger air magnus on fox or coyote.
santosh pandu I've dropped a fox with one shot with it. It doesnt have as much knock down power as my .22 cal. Benjamin Trail tho...
where did u shoot it at?
That was a real gun NOT AN AIR RIFLE... Definitely not a .177 Anything...
Mike Nelson No, it was an air rifle. A .177 Ruger Air mag to be exact with you.
I was shooting the Gamo Glowfire pellet.
DONT USE WADCUTTERS....those are for targets practices because they make big holes in paper... use Domes or Hollows
By a veal barn on our farm...
