I've made one Orc Warboss from the Command Sprue by sticking him on a tactical rock then 2x 15 Orcs (one with shields, one with two weapons, kitbashing a full command for both (the Orc head with the ponytail makes for a great Champion), then 2x10 skirmishing Goblin Archers and 1x20 Goblin Spears. and 2x Board Chariots It's one heck of a set.
Opening these is a genuine joy, First time i've felt in a long time that i've gotten my moneysworth from a GW product.. Seeing frame after frame of plastic and an actual decently sized army for under 100 quid feels like time travel almost
Yeah I have to agree with you Mordian. The return to bright & bold, flashy boxes with photos of assembled models on the tabletop is a real treat! SO much better for attracting and satisfying new and old players alike.
Gobbos- 2 units of 10 spears. 2 units of 10 bows. then later, add a box to each. use them as your artillery, and human wave to tied units down. then flank attack with the Ork boyz.
The wolf rider box costs 55€ and gives you 15 goblins on wolves. you get 40 Goblins for 67,50€ with the infantry box, just keep 25 Goblins on foot build 15 riders and get the wolves for next to nothing, still a good deal and 25 is a decent number for a Gobbo throw away unit.
Unless you already have savage orcs. I think i would build 21 (7x3) Orcs, with 2 hand weapons. And paint them with warpaint. Make em Big Ones. Thats 3x S4 attacks each. :) with 6+ Ward. at 227 points with full command.
Great video veteran old worlder and finally took the plunge for some of orcs and goblins look fantastic must agree with you regarding the new kits are a bit over the place and I've gotten frustrated with them to the point I've given up so yeah GW keep things simple it's more fun
@@techpriest_huckleberry 3 times 10 boyz squad. 4 times 10 Gretchin squad... If you got a bunch of spare arms... That's like kitbash heaven at a very steep discount on 40k prices.
I miss this era of Warhammer. I do pray that if GW commits to new plastic kits for the Old World, they will follow in the spirit of the old ones. Propably not though, propably just mono poses with little to no spare bits : /
Did probably build all the goblins with spears or hand weapons I you want to save the points. There main role is to tie enemy units down so your orcs can get off their charges. Later you can add wolf riders who make better archers if you have a character in their unit with da thinking orcs hat. and they pair well with the boar chariots.
They are selling that kit again. There are 2 orc kits on sale at the moment. You’re talking about the one that lets you build around 40 orcs with bows or double choppas.
The kit bashing potential with these is fantastic! I thought the chariots would be metal which put me off but it might be time for the age of the orc…….
Mine only came with 3 boars so I'm missing one, I bought it from a gamestore on ebay so when I went to GW for help they told me to kick rocks. I dunno what to do at this point, definitely not supporting GW anymore though. One chariot and one incomplete chariot :(

UA-camrs, "Here's what's in the box!"
Table Gamer "Here's what you can kitbash from this box."

I do kind of miss the insane detailed stupid art on 20 years old type boxxes tho.

With new GW kits you’re lucky if the body is in 3 different parts.

this is the things games workshop was good at. making large box sets to kick start someone into an army.

Damn, thats pretty potent!

these boys can also be the start for your new Green Tide 40k Ork horde army too ;)
I have so many Kommando shootas and other bits
I converted my WFB to Snakebite Orks then converted them all back to Old World Orcs again! 😅

I wonder how well the goblin mob will convert into 40k grots, i might fancy picking up a box for that alone
Look at the modularity!
The best thing about the Old World is...
i'm pretty sure that's the chariot sprue that was coming with the starting box back in the day

got this box only finished the chariots yet but i love it
How many points can you make this box set? I’ve looked everywhere

Yeah the rule of ignoring goblin panic means you can screen with them without worrying about that low orcy LD
Orcs with shields and hand weapons can have bows for free iirc
boars came with baby boar sprues. command sprue, with the riding orks sprues back in the day enough for 5 riders.

Lovely! I have, kinda enough boyz (70) so will pick up a pair of Pig Wagons for now.. But a nice box!
The sprues all randomly shoved into the box seems a touch odd?
At least every part of each model is on the same sprue.
Mordian or others! I’m stumped on what option to build the orc boys in this box
Either hand wep and shield or spear shield
What are you guys doing
The kit bashing potential with these is fantastic! I thought the chariots would be metal which put me off but it might be time for the age of the orc…….
Is this the same plastics, or are they resized?
Same.
Shield and handweapon for orcs
spear and shield for gobbos
Accepting donations for the channel O&G army or trying to keep everything uniformly painted?
Cool box. Although night goblins are cooler hehehe
yeah modern minis might look nice but they are a pain in the arse to build
It's De Ja Vu all over again....
👏👏
