That's what happens when you don't clean your attic on a regular basis. Congrats on your find! Put those squatter Dwarfs to work for you. It's the least they could do not paying rent all these years.

I planned to use them as Big-Unz since they were slightly larger than the multi-piece orcs but I no longer have any of them.
For Empire there lots of historical miniatures in close to heroic scale one can buy. Often with 24-30 miniature per box for less money you pay GW for 10 minis
Loving the coverage of The Old World m8. I just can't get motivated to get back into 40k, so loving an excuse to watch all your videos again! Soooo good!
wargames foundry has old metal minis (knights, vikings, fantasy stuff etc) that are from citadel, they're sculpts from the 80s. very charming and enjoyable to paint

I think we’ll get all the TOW armies back eventually, it’s just logistics at the moment and gauging how well it does. We can’t have everything at once so they’re focusing on these armies at first and then maybe in a year or two they’ll add the others back! I think old world is gonna do allot better then you think. The Old release was the busiest day ever for warhammer world. Even busier then 10th ed 40k
Yeah I suspect it’s gonna do very well. And I assume in around 2-3 year or so they may do an Old World 2nd edition release or so and focus on the other remaining factions.
I’ve been experimenting with using actual cloth on minis that have a cape. If you want the cape to have a fixed position you can simply use some water downed PVC glue, dip the cloth in it and then when it begins to dry adjust it into the particular shape that you want. You could also use a spray adhesive or hair spray for a similar effect.
21:45 I just got my hand on that miniature, the original (and still sealed) orcboss on wyvern. All metal except the wings. 50 euro.. oh boy am i happy with that one!! Dont think the seller knew what he had because im seeing them on ebay for allot more!! Happy days!
The craziest news about that "made to order" biz was the Marauder Giant coming back. My stock on GW is pretty low, but they went up one magnitude with that move.
Thank you for an interesting video! If I may pitch a few video ideas: 1 How to create an old world army from AOS. What is obvious to you is not as easy for a new player. 2 How to / where to find opponents for GW games. Grown up, new players may have a problem here. 3 What start sets / start boxes are likely to be released for the old world before the end of the year, and what is likely to be in them? 4 What old world models are easiest to asseble for a new player? For noobs like myself who want as little assembling as possible 5 Is the start set models (tomb kings / brettonia / greenskins / dwarfs) a good selection of models for playing? For example, the greenskins neither have black orcs or night goblins in it. Is it worth buying these sets, or is it bad models that likely that would be replaced? 6 Suggestion to us noobs of how to create a decent army (start box + some extra models) for each fractions with starter sets (including skaven from the skaventide box for AoS)
The orcs are identical to the 4000 points I put together back in the early 2000's. I have the identical orc warboss on the wyvern that was an all metal model. I am pretty sure the models are identical all across the board for those orcs and goblin regiments. I am excited to see it come back.
The Legacy armies are also WAY easier to buy at the moment. Most have lots of troops available through Age of Sigmar. High Elves ... Nothing available.
I couldn't find geese but I found models called "Halfling Rooster Riders". Looks like in lore Halflings have something called the Poultry Swarm where they ride all kinds of different birds.
The orc models were amazing, and I will buy this box set just for those models. I still have bits in my bits box, and I always had fun kitbashing these models. Let's Go.
The First person shooter game is Necromunda: Hired Gun. Its a lot of fun. Really captures the environment and characters of the setting. Necromunda; Underhive Wars is a Third person turn-based strategy based game which is more of a PC simulator of the Necromunda tabletop ruleset. As for Old World... I'll be playing my Age of Sigmar Maggotkin as Nurgle Daemons using the legacy army list. Just need some base adaptors so the round bases will fit on square bases....Daemons. Playable in 30K, 40K, Old World, AOS and Kill Team.
Aren't the plastic ladz from the 6th edition Empire V Orc box set? Mine were split between a 40k Feral Ork army, and the remnants are now in my Dragon Rampant Empire force as small Ogre archers.
Got 12k of skaven, 9k beasts and at least 10-12k empire. Never gave up on 8th. Collected since 93. Hobby became an addiction so happy the brought it back.
Might have been said already, there was a 40k Ork box and a Fantasy Battles Orc box and you could blend the 2 boxes together, which is what i did for my 40k ork army....thats the fantasy box sets in the video...fantastic videos sir's, a mighty Waaagggghhhh for yez lads!
Same here. At the time the WHFB Boyz box was slightly cheaper so if you bought one of 40k and one of Fantasy you could use all the arms in the 40k Box and make squads of sluggas and shootas.
I have some fantasy orks. The sculpts are different than 40k, but they're 100% compatible. They're a great way to add some variety to your boyz. Love them, and I might need more.
There was a battle report in one of the White Dwarfs (I think 3k dwarfs vs 1.5k empire), which had exactly the same narrative - Empire count/lord not paying in full for update to his castle, resulting in Dwarfs atacking said castle. It was actually pretty cool!
I'm in a similar situation with TOW, the army I want to do is wood elves, but I already have an ogor mawtribes army that just needs some base adaptors and some more ogre bulls to be playable in TOW, so at least whilst I'm waiting on the wood elf minis to release I have something to play. Sites like trolltrader are a great resource for legends armies since you can pick the minis up cheap and sort of cobble together units, and they come with the benefit of already being built. I've been able to scrape together the core of the army for much cheaper than buying new, however I'm also in the situation of waiting on my rulebook, so I'll have to see what my army is like after getting more context from the rulebook.
There is a alot of Warhammer (outside of AOS and warcry) that just isn't weird enough anymore. Anyone remember the Inquisitor acolytes? There was a guy with flamers for arms! Just look through the old 80's catalogues!
Going to say if you are looking for proxies for empire and bretonians remember those are historicals with a bit of steam punk or Authurian special sauce. The Perry Brothers who did the early bretonians have a 100 years war range that has plenty of affordable mins.
If you're REALLY stuck for money, switch to 15mm and use Demonworld. Your gothic scenery in 32mm would still work, the minis are by Werner Klocke, who did a lot of work for the old Warhammer system. And there are a bunch of cool armies.
As I remember there was the "lady of the lake " in the bretonian mythology. So there meaning of damsel of the lady. Sorry if that's not clear I translate from my French memory of the past...
I hope hope hoooope that Throgg comes back with Chaos. I missed out on getting that model during the "last chance", but just maybe there's gonna be another chance.
I'm actually thinking of getting a Tomb Kings army but the starter box has some issues. Dun want the horsemen myself but maybe I can find a way to trade them for some more archers and chariots. The starter box isn't too bad if you still need the rulebook as well; since the book is like 50 tbh; the chonky dragon is so cool though. The early plastic Rohirrim was dire, which is why I got rid of them.... I do have the metal Eltharion the Grim and Tyrion for my High Elves though and they're amazing. @_@
What I find really weird is that they still haven't released all bretonians. This Lady Duchard (or whatever shes called) and the freaking green Knight himself are still missing. Does someone know whats up with that?
I got a pretty good lot on eBay some months before Old World was announced, might be a totally different landscape now but it seems I got a decent price for way more points than these boxes offer. No book but 5 heroes.
The orcs from old world are the same from 40K cousin my orc army I have a lot of fantasy work bits from old world that I use to make mine a little unique like some swords are from old world that are on my 40K orks and I have some Spears or heads from the fantasy orks on my 40K orks, so to answer your question on that yes it's the same height same body style that's why if you see some people with work armies you'll see a little bit of fantasy works in their army cuz it's the same😊
The fantasy orcs and 40k orks were designed to be compatible, for the sake of conversions. Mixing in fantasy orcs helps your 40k orcs to look like feral orks, mixing in 40k ork bits makes your fantasy orcs look more varied, though of course the weapons and arms, and some 40k ork heads, are more technological, so you'd tend not to use those for fantasy stuff.
I am so excited for this battalion box, I’m a massive old school ork model fan and you just don’t see modularity in newer GW models and having those different poses, weapons, bodies, heads, etc. will make my ever growing, kitbashed, 40k ork army look just that little bit more exciting. For myself at least.
@papa_boogy Very true, and that lack of modularity has discouraged many people from converting their models, so while these figures are a bit dated, they'll show newer fans just how much can be done with their models when they aren't so dramatically posed. Don't get me wrong, I like dynamic poses, but they're best as supplements to standard models, like the new ork boyz. They're not a great kit for all of your models to be drawn from, otherwise you'd have massive numbers of identical models comprising your hordes of greenies, but sprinkled into the ranks of the older boyz, they look great, and make the old boyz look great too.
@@rootsnootthnute8598 totally and I picked up a box of beast snaggas for this exact reason, the dynamic poses are great but when you see the same 4 over the course of 60 boys they start to blend in. But scattered about the older Boyz they look great as nobs or just big Boyz
I started the hobby in 1996 when I was in the Army my friend was throwing all his Warhammer fantasy in the Barracks skip bin so I saved them 3 dragons, Bret’s, High Elves, Wood Elves and Empire oh and a Hydra 😂😂😂 and I collected Tomb Kings at their release ( 03 I think) I got the Army deal and I repainted all my vampire counts as Tomb Kings except for the ones that don’t translate 😂😂😂
GW don't want to sell minis with multiple base options. Anything sold these days with round bases (seraphon, witch elves, skaven, demons etc) won't be getting retro armies. Not sure about Chaos Dwarfs - I wonder if there's a new A0S faction over the horizon after the success in Total War.

I'm pretty familiar with a number of sites that catalog old Citadel minis and I don't think I've ever seen any Halflings other than basic infantry and the hot pot catapult. A number of other companies do make mounted halfling miniatures though.
There are some mentioned in an old edition of Citadel Journal that has pictures of goat and swan riders, there's a scan of it here: halflinghouse.blogspot.com/2012/01/halfling-army-list-citadel-journal-36.html Now I need some halfling swan rider models!

But chaos warriors are in old world and sigmar though aren't they?
@@richardloveday5761 good point, I guess we wait and see what figures come back for them. I think it's down to figures and unit names but I could be wrong.
@@richardloveday5761Yes, as well as Beastmen and parts of at least 2 other ranges.
Lost kingdoms have some great proxies along with higland minatures for tomb kings. Although Im not a fan of whfb orcs, i am excited for all the giants and troll hag coming back
The Assault Group do Halfling Cavalry on giant roosters all metal! Great looking to boot.
a lot of newer mantic plastics are vastly better than TOW classic plastics FYI! great choice imo
So pumped for old world!
You and Louise Sudgens would make perfect podcast,100% pure positivity and unbridled joy. We need this to happen in this world full of complaints and negativity.
I don't think Halflings rode geese but they definitely did ride swans, eagles, goats sheep and rams. Not that I can find any pictures of the swan riders right now, my Google-fu is failing me!
I'm pretty familiar with a number of sites that catalog old Citadel minis and I don't think I've ever seen any Halflings other than basic infantry and the hot pot catapult. A number of other companies do make mounted halfling miniatures though.
There are some mentioned in an old edition of Citadel Journal that has pictures of goat and swan riders, there's a scan of it here: halflinghouse.blogspot.com/2012/01/halfling-army-list-citadel-journal-36.html
Now I need some halfling swan rider models!
That army was a custom that featured in a Citadel Jounal back in the late 90’ies. Don’t remember witch issue, but I still got it laying around somewhere…
11:02 why do you think old world won't do well?
The orcs didn’t share bits - But were made in the same manner, so were cross-compatible
Necromunda figures
Forgeworld and plastic?
the ganger is defs my new callidus
The bretonians cut the beard of a dwarf who stole an apple, but not really. Lets call it the war of the beard.
Those orcs and goblins are the same models that where out before Warhammer fantasy stopped
Halflings were part of Bretonians I believe.
If warhammer fantasy takes place back in medieval time 30 pieces of silver would be worth $264.60 today
40+ models already? Sweet sassy molassey. I'm at one complete, one three quarters done, seven half done, and twenty more assembled.
Thankfully a lot of Warhammer Fantasy players collected small parts of a bunch of armies and are willing to step in and trade until GW releases more!
I just 3d printed 4500pts of orks for 9th age. Just need to create a base adapters for everything and my army is ready.
Bretonnians made to order are SOO good for a Mordheim Warband
Chaos Dwarves are coming to AOS. Skaven are in AOS, Dark Elves, Ogres, Lizardmen, Vampires are all AOS. Chaos Dwarves are coming too.
Im deluqe from old.
You should do reports how does it go for you guys.
10:18 they are for the dogs of war army pirates from Italy
For more knowledge, you can look at sinpe and wib dogs of war
Sinpe and wib is the same UA-cam channel*
Wow, what a great tip. "Just have friends to give you miniatures." Grade A content here, Jay.
"The orcs are so mean!" 😂😂
See the orcs and the dwarfs did release together.
Yes orks and orcs are interchangable is parts.
play Warmaster, i would love to see you paint those 10 mm minis. When you print one army you cant stop.
I really hope they release the Merwyrm again because I want one for my dark elves
