@mrlion2022 It's unfortunate that the dealers don't do transmission and differential fluid change. I have had the same experience with my Jaguar XF, which I then changed myself. In my opinion, the dealerships don't change those fluids is because the manufactures declare those fluids last a "life time", which means about max. 200'000 km at the most.😆
Hello Sir, thank you for the good film. One note(I don't belive this will change much) manual says to pull out 70ml of oil from the max level. I guess this is related with thermal expension and should reduce the pressure on the sealing but this is myy guess. BR KP
Nice video. Thanks. I am getting ready to do this on my 2015 Dynamic Evoque. It requires 0.9L of Castrol BOT270. What is odd is that in one section of the LR Service manual it says to remove and discard the drain and fill plugs (with no mention of the washers) and in another section of the manual it says to replace the washers with no mention of new bolts.
Thanks you, life saver. I learnt so much from this. Just need to find out why my diff is making a humming noise when driving. Dealership recommended a diff overhaul (not sure what that means)...
I sold the car in the end. Strangely, I took the car for a service at the same place, and during the service, they said they got another chance to observe the issue and said it needed a new power transfer unit. That took ages to be ordered in, and the car got progressively worse when driving. When pulling off in stop/start traffic, the autohold brake wouldn't disengage on applying accelerator, as it normally should. It would jerk off quite violently and then come under control after about 2 seconds. After driving for about 30 minutes, it would return to normal. So I sold it the first chance I got.
@@ashleymillin2798 Thanks. Just got one and its making a huming noise, figured it's the rear diff. Only humming issue, nothing else wrong so far. Will try the oil change and see if that helps, else its a fight with the dealership who sold it to us. :-\
Hi Peter, has there been any issues with the rear differential after changing the oil, I’m struggling to find info to confirm if my Evoque requires the same oil as yours
Hi, congratulations for the video! a question... on the castrol italia website, the oil with 75-90 alcohol content is recommended. What's the difference, and which advice is best?
Hi! For the differential gear at Land Rover, I would stick to the specifications according to the workbook if possible. (Unlike the Discovery 4's engine oil). The important thing when choosing oils is that the lubricity is equal to or even better than the original. I would definitely refrain from cheap oils that can not meet this. All the best, Peter
Hi, unfortunately I changed the differential oil only 20,000km ago or 1.5 years on the LR4. But as I already wrote, the job is nearly the same even the amount of oil. Best, Peter
Hi, it would not have come to my attention in my research to date that this needs to be done. If it does, it would be great if someone had more information about it. All the best, Peter
Hey, I change it every 80,000 - 100,000 kilometres. But if you do a lot of off-road driving, you should change it sooner. Here, too, the often quoted "lifetime filling" is nonsense. Best Peter
@Stevottty Hey, I changed the differential oil on the LR4 about 1,5 years ago. So there is no need for this at the moment. But it’s nearly the same even the amount of oil you have to put in. Best to you, Peter
Hey, unfortunately I can't flush the oil at home because I don't have the equipment. And just pouring some in so that it runs out again at the bottom rarely really washes out the abrasion. This would have to happen under pressure for it to have the desired effect. All the best, Peter
Thank you Peter, brilliantly filmed and presented. I was not really looking forward to doing this but I am now.
Nice video, suggestion for another would be servicing the Haldex unit (pump & filter change).
Thank you, Peter for thi$ DIY video, it saved me $300❤
my local dealer quoted me 800 and threatened that it would break and need to be replaced if I don't do it today
Thanks for posting. Haldex service should be next on your list
Thanks for the video dealerships saying they can't change the diff fluids, so I am starting to service my own just like I do on my other vehicle

Thanks. Well explained and very useful. Good job

Thank you for the video, I’m doing this next week. I have to do all of my brakes so I figured might as well while I have it on a lift.
Hi @Aaron, hope everything goes well! Best to you, Peter
Oh wanted to ask, I can get the oil from the dealership but which were are you using on this?
@@ByakuganPrince The oil which is recommend is a Castrol Transmax Axle 80W-90 EPX
Very good video, thumbs up!
Hola Piter,¿a cuanto kilometros se cambia aceite de transmision trasera? , ¿delante también tiene transmision?
Gracias por su video😊...

I just got told the same, £650 because oil was "contaminated" and needed to change how the filter works they said....
Did the oil changfe sort your humming issues?

Hello! I need to know how many liters the front differential? Evoque turbo 2.0. Year 2018.
Thanks so much!!
Thank you for the Video.
Can you show us how we can change the v ripped belt (Keilrippenriemen)?
Hey @Halil, at the moment there is no plan to do that, I'm sorry! Greetings, Peter

Brilliant 👍
Thanks mate! ☺️

Front Diff! Front Diff! 🥳
is it necessary to reset the "self learn procedure" settings after changing the ATF fluid in the gearbox like on Disco 3/4?
Hi, it would not have come to my attention in my research to date that this needs to be done. If it does, it would be great if someone had more information about it. All the best, Peter
Do u have a video for evoque haldex filter?
Hey, no I'am sorry there is no video for this filter. Best, Peter
Hello! Where do you get information about whitch oils go where?
Hey, it was from the workshop book for the evoque. Best, Peter
Don't think there is a drain screw on the dynamic model
What miles did you do this at
On this one it was about 115,000 kilometres / 71,500 miles when I did the service. Greetings, Peter
It’s ridiculous that Land Rover specs their own diff fluids. It was hard for me find my own oil so I settled with 75w-90 Amsoil fluid. So far so good.
how often does it need to be changed
Hey, I change it every 80,000 - 100,000 kilometres. But if you do a lot of off-road driving, you should change it sooner. Here, too, the often quoted "lifetime filling" is nonsense. Best Peter
Can you do the same video for the LR4?

You forgot to flushing before refill the oil. Previous plug look dirt ,might got some metal chip inside the case.
