Hey, I loved the intro on the video and the video of course. You looked really happy in that video. Probably because the weather was nicer and not snowy and cold.
I recently purchased a 2011 LR4 with plans to use it for overlanding and largely maintain it myself. While we have different power plants, your videos have been very helpful for so many things as I start planning my build and maintaining my LR4. Keep up the great work, and thank you!
Hi! Thank you very much, of course I'm delighted! You can really do a lot of maintenance jobs on the LR4 yourself and save a lot of money 😉 Which engine do you have installed? Greetings, Peter
Hello Peter. Very nice video again, thanks for the effort 👍🏻 Just a quick question, sometimes they advice to change the sump as well whenever you change the transmission fluid. Have you ever looked into this?
Hey @eses1979, When I had the gearbox flushed, I had all the necessary parts replaced, including the sump and filter. I have the gearbox flushed for every vehicle I buy with an automatic transmission because it has always made a real improvement so far. With my current Disocvery 4, the gear changes were already so jerky that I didn't expect any improvement. But after flushing and replacing the sump etc., the automatic transmission shifts as smooth as butter again! All the best, Peter
Thanks Peter. Your videos are really helpful and make maintaining our Discovery’s look less painful. I’ll do my transfer case and diff fluids at the weekend. Did you fill precisely 1.5 litres or until the fluid started dribbling out of the fill plug? I’ve seen others fill the transfer case until it comes out. Cheers. Ty
Hey Ty, thank you very much! In this case, please only fill in the amount of 1.5 litres as otherwise it is too much. If you put too much oil in your vehicle, so-called splash losses occur. Metaphorically speaking, the gears "dip in too much", resulting in increased friction. Best, Peter
👍 You're right! It would actually be best to change all the other oils in the differentials and the transfer case after changing the gearbox oil, which should be done every 80,000 kilometres! Best regards, Peter

Thanks, really appreciate! ☺️ Haha, yes, it's also much more pleasant to work at +12 degrees Celsius than at -4°C 😄 Best, Peter

Very gold job!
Thanks 😃
Another great vid. Much appreciated. Great oil comparison. The lighting was fantastic and clear. Look forward to your next vid. TY.
😊 I'm glad that everything was clear and understandable! Thank you and all the best, Peter
Good video!!!
'Easy Job' - DONE. 😊 Thanks a lot for your instruction guide!
Nicely done 🙏 Next one up for me is installing the Altox module for remote FBH control. Has to be done 😇
Thanks! What's the price for this module? Had something similar on our Discovery Sport and it was really practical.
