Those skis are a good choice for flipping because not many people know how to work on them. You have found a good side hustle.

Thanks! You are correct that not many people know how to work on them! I spent hours upon hours on the net and searching through Polaris manuals trying to figure out how to work on them.

Sorta right about the water hose, but, you always want to use water when on the trailer. Why? Because the unions for the exhaust manifolds to the rest of the system on 99% of marine stuff, is rubber. If you dry crank, as in the ski has not been in the water for a long time, and there is no moisture in the system, you will eventually burn a hole through those unions. I have had a 1998 1100 zxi since 2001. Yes, do start first, then slowly open the faucet until you see a bit of water from the exhaust, and that is all you need. I usually have a helper to start the ski while I turn on the water for the first start of the season.
The previous owner dry cranked it every year before hitting the water. One day I was out on the river the first year we owned it, and a strange water leak ensued, with the addition of two smoke exhaust in the engine compartment, which suffocated the engine. Had I not been a mechanically competent 16 year old at the time, I would have been stranded waiting for someone to come by, not understanding why the ski kept dying, or it was smoking inside. I unlatched the seat, pulled it back a bit, and rode home. I also found the problem, and changed the union myself. Water is necessary because a number of parts have been engineered to be cooled/protected by it.

I have a 2000 genesis 1200 coils are mounted under the seat and leads will interchange between all cylinders. Having trouble figuring out which lead or coil goes to which cylinder plug

So the plug wires are all the same length, and the coils are the same of course; the small wires coming from the wiring harness are ones in sequence. The one coming off of the harness first goes to the first cylinder and so on. Someone may have rerouted that wiring harness. You’ll have to look at the Polaris Shop manual online to get the schematic and routing order. I’ve not worked on a 2000 yet but if the EMM is located in the rear near the battery the PTO cylinder will be the first in order, then center, then MAG (front cylinder). And the harness will be ran from the rear starboard side over to the Port side, then up behind the water intake manifold between it and the cylinder head and the leads will come out under the water manifold and into each coil in order.
