I've often thought that Monza with a wider and less bumpy oval would be a helluva circuit in modern cars. The original track was such a wild idea that was never really duplicated (although many American ovals have infield road courses they aren't very good except for Daytona's)

the americans like less twisty circuits in general, so maybe there"d be a chance of rebuilding the original Monza, a bit widened, there in its entirety
one could possibly appeal to italian americans specifically to fund bringing over another piece of their heritage

@@illdeletethismusic I don't know about that second part, but I do think a track similar to Old Monza could exist in the States. You modify an existing 1 or 1.5 mile oval to have an outfield high-speed road course.

@Jimmy Broadbent . . . when you commented about how warm it was in the shed, consider this: You are experiencing a reality aspect of racing at the Italian Grand Prix, which from what I recall from 50+ years ago, was held in September, where the weather could get HOT at Monza.
With current F1 cars racing at the long circuit, I'd be curious how much trimming of the wings and spoilers the teams would do on the cars; as I recall from the 1968 Italian Grand Prix, some teams, with McLaren coming to mind, scaled back on the appendages for better top-end speed; which paid off for the McLaren team, as Bruce McLaren led in the early going, with teammate Denis Hulme getting the win.

Very nice. I had the feel and excitement of speed!
Something I found a little odd, though, is that the Williams was able to negotiate the banking at the same speed as you while way down low on the flat part. How is that possible?

Wow I always taught why no one made a transparent halo in a f1 game. And finally I see one!!! I think this is the best compromise between realisme and Sim gaming

looks like you could do with longer 7th and 8th gears and less wing. Curve Grande Ascari and the oval looks easy flat. Trim the cars wings and set the gear ratios for over 340 kph.

      @@stpbasss3773 they burn 110kg (~146L, ~39US gal, ~32UK gal) in ~305km (190mi), so they get ~48L/100km, or ~4.9mpgUS, ~6mpgUK.
Pretty good for a 1000hp car going flatout for an hour and a half.

338kmph that is absolutely nuts, not even the v12’s, V10’s or V8’s can top that speed, this is the kind of tracks F1 needs, high speed, high risk, car taxing tracks, notpussy tracks like the A1 Ring or Abu Dahbi.
