Remember when 17 used it as an offensive move against jiren “this is going to hurt”
That was slick when he did that
And he used it offensively against anilaza in a different way
That was Dope Af ! Reminded me of when Chiaotzu jumped on Nappa’s back and blew himself up..
Piccolo vs 17 is one of my favorite anime fights
Same
The Ultimate Gohan fight Vs Buu was one of mine
Those hilarious looney tunes gut punches xd!
Ah I see you are a man of quality as well
I wish Cell did.not interrupt the fight. A Piccolo and 17 rematch would be fun.
I loved how 17 had so many variations of the technique during the Tournament of Power as opposed to JUST being a shield. From creating shields around others, using it for offensive tactics like strengthening his punch to break Aniraza's head gem/radar.
@@saudbintalib5701 well good to know real DB fans knows where the great videos are at!
@@saudbintalib5701 honestly, I'm loving it. Well the Granola stuff but the Goku/Vegeta stuff not so much -_- so much regression in their 'growth.' I knew Goku wasn't Whis-level per say but for him to EASILY get toppled like that and then Vegeta amazed by the simple blast from Beerus that destroyed a 'sky decoration' planet was ridiculous.
@@OurKindofEntertainment this is Whis we're talking about here man. It wouldve been even more dumb if goku could somewhat hang with him. Its already dumb enough that he mastered UI already. And they werent surprised by him destroying the planet. Just surprised at how nonchalant he did it.
Android 17: bari bari no pistol
@@OurKindofEntertainment thats not regression at all lmao it was stated that there was levels to UI and goku has already surpassed himself from the TOP and he literally said that the angels were at teh top so its obvious theres a clear power difference between the two and Vegeta would obviously be amazed since beerus said it literally had to do with the saiyans and their demise as a race smh
Seems like Number 17 has taken the technique to a whole new level, being able to project barriers around other people in multiple layers, materialize walls of energy, focus the barrier around a single fist, or even catch other fighters within the barrier itself so they cannot get free.
I like Super's creativity in depicting variations on various abilities.
I'm surprised Geekdom didn't talk about this
@@AwijoshSun He didn't???
(Haven't watched yet)
Miss opportunity. He should of mentioned this
@@ultimategocorp.7285 Definitely
Dont forget gohan taught goku and vegeta in the t.o.p how to make a barrier around them to protect them against lavender's poison
Remember when Vegeta also used it in the DBZ movies Wrath Of The Dragon when he got pushed into that building full of people and then Hirudegarn throws a breath of fire to where it had forced Vegeta to form the barrier, protecting the people an himself which also causes him to pass out . Would that also be considered?
I did love how Jiren could passively emit a barrier, possibly through his ki pressure. With that he was able to block Evolution Vegeta, Kaioken Goku and 17's combined ki assault
vegeta knows kaioken? Since when? They should given it to picollo instead
17's Android Barrier looks best
Facts
I love that it's green
Nah, Green doesn't make sense. It should have been black or orange. The best barrier is Cell's since it suits him.
Facts I love the green
True
But let’s not forget that Hisokas Bungee Gum (Elastic Love) has the properties of Rubber and Gum

But does Hisoka have bankai?
You know when Geekdom101 brings out the old lightsaber intro, it'll be a good video.
Surprised you didn't bring up Broly nor Frieza, Frieza was shown doing it in the Broly movie
I know right, when talking about barriers, the first user that comes mind is always Broly, and he has mastered this technique over the years that its like his own aura is the barrier, even showed he can fire ki blasts from all around the barrier itself.
@@Vipermecha 665t
@@Vipermecha Wasn't that Z Broly!? Don't remember seeing Super Broly use a barrier
@@daviddimanochie5405 Yes, that was DBZ Broly, though DBS Broly did use it briefly vs SSJ Gogeta, that green ball he was projecting could have been roughly similar to DBZ Broly's.
@@Vipermecha probably that's just anime/movie climax "that character is such powerful that even his aura creates a protection".
You forgot to mention about the old Broly's barier shown in two movies and Jiren's (first fight: Goku base form vs Jiren).

Future Gohan used it or at least a variant of it.

I don't remember that, I'll have to rewatch the special again

You need to emit twice as much energy as your opponent.....until Toriyama forgets again, and retcon comes into play🙄
This statement by the guide was instantly invalidated with the techniques debut. Piccolo and A17 in the Cell saga were shown to be near equal strength yet the barrier worked against Piccolos attack.
@@R.E.factor and base toppo who was slightly stronger than 17 couldn’t put a dent in the barrier
@@byronblaze136 exactly. A good defensive technique should protect against attacks from someone who is much stronger than you. Otherwise if you are already much stronger than the person attacking you don’t need a barrier, just shrug it off, power through it or overpower it.
Man, I love you videos. How much effort you put into every single video is incredible. You don’t slack off on your videos and put them out half ass, I love it, man.
It feels like it has been awhile since the last technique guide video, I'm really happy to see a new one.
Great stuff Geekdom always a pleasure
Geekdom always bringing the heat🔥
Excellent video Geekdom. This clears up some confusion for me, especially in regards to Vegito getting absorbed by Majin Buu
Awesome content as always Geekdom. Keep up the good work!
You see. That's why I say. I LOVE HIS CONTENT. Dropped this video and then teased us with the Androids energy video for the future. I forgot about them and the power they possess. Keep up the good work.

Yes please do the Video on the Android Energy! Been wondering about the specifics for ages
I finally finished watching ALL of Dragon Ball to Super just this week and i'm more than happy i decided to actually get into the series, has been an amazing ride and its helped me get through 2020 to now, these technique guides and all your other videos (Strongest in DB and Dragon Ball in depth) have really helped inform me more and helped me truly appreciate the characters and the series as a whole ❤️😄
Great vid. Thanks for the info. Gohan also used it against Lavender.
My Favorite character of the franchise has the best skills and techniques with this barrier there's so many things he does with it that's incredible! Cool video my guy!
Interesting video
That intro music is rockin'
I remember when your avatar was buff frieza with glasses and a red lightsaber . Ah nostalgia
I love the technique guide intro it's fkn sick 😷
Geekdom thank you so much for this! I did not knew that Cell in his base form didn't have infinite energy similar to the other Androids!
That twice the ammount of KI stuff sounds like BS to me....
Big bull shit. Its not logical from a power scaling standpoint in DBZ, and even less so from a power scaling standpoint in DBS. If anything, a defensive move would make sense if the technique allows you to withstand attacks from opponents that are twice as strong as you. Otherwise if you are already twice as strong as your opponent why do you need a barrier to begin with?
@@R.E.factor More like you are preparing a certain amount of energy to act like the shield against the incoming attack and using an equal amount to keep it up around you as a shield hence, twice the ki output. Otherwise it would just act as an aura as he explained
I know this is off-topic, but the manga scraps you used here are amazing.
Very interested in an infinity engine video. Love your stuff like always
17 barrier sound in top sounds so awesome
What sound you use from the technique guide when your
opening (intro) goes. Plus your intro is awsome homie 👌 🙌.
Dope man
I love the technique guide, I hope to see more technique guide videos, like me being a fanboy of Android 13 I’d like to see a technique guide of S.S Deadly Bomber also I do hope to see a video talking about the Energy systems that the Androids have but I’d like to also hear about Energy Absorption models and Infinite energy models, basically just all the android’s and there energy system
Its funny how this video appears right after I saw a video about you selling your Old Kai back in 2016.
Exactly what I needed for my lunch break! Also shout out Android 17, y’all better stop sleeping on my guy! His character and style of fighting is so refreshing compared to all the meat head powering up.
Very Important defensive technique
Can’t wait for the Saiyan beyond god video
Here is something strange that I have been thinking about for a while. Most people think of barriers as something that can only be used for defense but if you think about it, what does a barrier do?
It keeps things from entering a space or to be more precise it denies them the ability to be there. Or you can say that it cuts/divides areas of space into multiple parts. In theory if it was used by someone powerful who had a great deal of control it could be used to "disassemble" an object or a person's body.
I like your video explaining their very deep make the next one about the android 17
I think he already did
What I really like in Super is how 17 took a defensive move like the barrier and applied it an offensive attack during the TOP.

Remember when Geekdom said the Dragon Fist was Goku literally turning into a Dragon?
Pepperidge Farm remembers...
Hey Geekdom! Question for you about Cell having infinite energy. Cell is shown to be completely organic, unlike 17 and 18 who have mechanical enhancements inside their bodies. If this is true, he should be unable to have infinite energy (outside of maybe a wish from the dragon balls). Unless I'm mistaken, only 17 and 18 are directly stated several times to have infinite energy. If you say that Cell has it as well, then what would have been the point of giving him a senzu bean? Not for injuries, since he had already regenerated from his fight with Goku. And if the bean was not for injuries or for his energy, then why give him one. It would have done nothing. While logically his absorption of the androids should have given him infinite energy, they do not seem to have written him this way. What is your thoughts?
Great content as always.
I'm surprised you didn't bring up Broly's Energy Barrier from Second Coming atleast, that was an awesome seen seeing him survive the blazing lava from Earth's core, woulda been interesting to hear you're view points on him using it
I liked when Gohan used energy shield in history of Trunks. Because it was a defense that he yelled out much like solar flare. Also 17 using the shield
To punch was dope
Future Gohan did it too and in Tenkaichi 3 it was called Andriod barrier. you could use it too physically push away opponents
Ok but that intro beat lol 🔥🔥
I couldn't find the name of that beat
You can argue that the angels like merus and whis do that barrier too in super, like when they travel in outer space or when they protected kuririn and dende from Moro fighting goku
Than you for posting this on 3 of march!on my country's national seleberty
Would love to see a guide to the kiai / air pressure attack as it's been in the all the series.
Also much respect for 9:59 length
17 is just hacked......ima just leave it at that.
also how did his barrier survive piccolo's hellzone grenade?
Goku an Vegeta also done a barrier technique in the tournament of power to protect themselves against Lavenders poison attacks
Gohan also used a barrier that I feel was an over looked technique. It was when he fighting Buutenks in a crater. Buutenks launched a ki blast & Gohan used a barrier that reflected his ki blast right back. It didn't do much to Buutenks but I always thought it was a cool technique that never got used after that.
Damn the editing is top notch. Hey Geek, do you script these videos, or are they on the fly commentary?
Yo. Where'd you get your profile picture and who is it?
Can you do Light Grenade it’s one of my favourite piccolo attacks and it ties into this episode since he uses it too stop cell from absorbing 17
That's a handy technique to have
The first time we saw this technique is when freiza used it to charge goku when he was launching a kamehameha on namek
"must emit twice their opponents (attack) Ki"
that's neat rule so people wont abuse the barrier, to explain why not all attack just be tanked with barrier, because it taxing more than evading and sometime can't simply overpower incoming attack, if there's no such rule it'll create hole like "using eagles to the Mordor"
From what I understand, and I could be wrong here, the Infinite generator allows for unlimited stamina and unlimited ki production. For example, if 17 and piccolo were equal in max power and shot a ki beam at each other to see who would last the longest 17 would out last him. If someone was stronger like toppo then they could just slap em away. It's like how future trunks was so much stronger it didn't mattered or semi perfect cell.
In wrath of the dragon i think vegeta also did a barrier to protect the people in the building. It kinda looked like android 17s version of it
Forgot about that Future Gohan can also use the barrier as well in the TV special
The barrier reminds of green lantern ability to make shields I think 17 vs green lantern would be interesting fight
you didn't mention the time vegeta saved the civilians in the hirudegarn movie with the barrier. but good video
I like this technique
Protecting the island from poachers, from missiles, and making sure he doesn't kill his nephew and nieces( aka cell Jrs)
Goku and vegeta used a barrier against lavender in the ToP as well
Intro fiya
Geekdom what happened to making the perfected super saiyan blue explained video? Great vid nonetheless
Awesome
The best use of Barrier was whe
when 17 used it on Jarrin and his self destruct to gain advantage in the TOP
Why did I not see this until now?
I remember when Gohan of the alternate future used a barrier - I always thought it was pretty cool, even though Gohan is so much weaker in that timeline
Shoulda added Jirens! His was dope too
Great vid. I don't buy the "you have to be twice as strong as the blast to use it"
Because if you're already twice as strong in DBZ, that blast wouldn't hurt you anyway. Or you'd have the speed to dodge or deflect it.
Super Namekian Piccolo was close to an even match to 17, outside of endurence perhaps.
It would make more sense if it was like "it can block up to twice as much energy as you put in"
That makes it actually useful and matches what we see on screen better.
Do you own any of the Daizenshu's Geekdom? I was lucky to find all 7 on Ebay in its early days. Can't read 'em but love 'em!
You forgot about future gohan he also used against adriod 17 and 18 with the name of “Energy Shield” on The History Of Trunks
They probably can put out a fixed amount of energy for an infinite time, but the rate at which they're able to put out energy seems to be subject to things like training and strain.
frieza also uses a purple barrier in the dragon ball super broly movie. It looks pretty sleek
The og intro is back
True
Goku used a barrier once when he yell to block a I think from Napa. Now that I think about it also Goku and Vegeta did in the tournament of power against universe 9. God of destruction toppo use barrier to protect yourself from is destructive energy during the tournament of power.
I'd like for Goku to use this technique in battle rather than just evading attacks. Like for example if he needs to counter an attack rather than just answering with his own, he could use the barrier ti take it and then immediately counter.
GOKU & VEGETA USED IT TOO IN THE T.O.P. AGAINST BERGAMOS YOUNGER BROTHER
I have a theory for non android characters. To protect yourself against a stronger opponent with a barrier they most likely flare their ki up at the point of impact of an attack so it doesn’t constantly eat ki. If you release more ki right when you get hit you should be able to conserve ki more effectively.
You forgot about the barrier future Cohan used against the androids. I guess it might not be cannon though
