It had been five years since Larry turned on Bruno, and the crowd is still angry, like it happened that day. You could see the hatred in their eyes. Nothing like that anymore.
refreshing not having a sarcastic host & crowd mocking pro wrestling....the the crowd brought into the bruno/ larry storyline without doubt ....innocent times/ fun times
I miss the days of kayfabe! Notice the crowd then- all ages- both young and older woman as well. Today, if you go into the local market, you'd be hard pressed to find ladies who know the current wrestling scene. Back then, everyone was up on the goings ons of wrestling.
Anyone who wonders why pro wrestling went into the dumper after the 80s, it's because these type of loyal, moral, mature fans were left out in the cold, lost and never to return: 1:51 4:35
I really wanted to hear what Flair had to say about Hulk Hogan back in these days. Neither the NWA or the WWF acknowledeged one another back then, and it would have been interesting to hear what Flair had to say about Hogan and the WWF.
God damm I miss those days... I wasn't stupid, I knew that you couldn't take that kind of a beating night after night and get your head busted open night after night if it was legit. But the wrestlers acting as if it was a legitimate contest made it feel legitimate. I would like to see at least one promotion decide not to have their talent ever break Kayfabe and really present it as a legitimate sport. It's called suspension of disbelief and it works.
WWF fails to mention the Spectrum and always talks about Madison Square Garen and NY. Philly is WWF territory before the days of ECW which explains the WWF talk and the talk fromm older folks who love Bruno. During this time NWA was intoduced to the Philly area after He-Haw on channel 17 I think at like 2:00PM.
Larry better than Flair!? In which universe!? Zbyszko couldn't lace Ric's boots, he couldn't go 60 minutes night after night having great matches with different challengers the way Ric did through the 80's. Zbyszko was a gifted talker, but he was an average worker at best and wasn't World Heavyweight champion material.
Larry Zbysko: "I don't think the Hulk would wrestle any one of us." Wally Kennedy: "Tell me why." Me: "Because he wouldn't wants fans to be bored with Larry's best move - the ten minute stall."
I used to hope that Tully Blanchard would compete in a hair match, and if Tully lost, instead of his head being shaved, Baby Doll's head would be shaved instead. I would have loved seeing her get her beautiful blonde hair all shaved off and see her hair lying all over the mat and see her bald. I was always fantasizing about that back then.
BORING....YES, i'm sure people who work together don't like each other. You are somehow missing my point...THIS IS SCRIPTED, BUT yes behind the the scenes people don't like each other. So what?
@oldschool6804 WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! and get off the net sometime and get some fresh air...maybe you'll loose a little weight.......(note: Super humans don't need to slum down to cheesy name calling) but....'yeah sure it's all real'.....
Zybysko is a true legend in his own mind. He didn't retire nobody other than himself. lol As for Flair, Bruno would wrestle rings around that bum. Flair wrestled the same match pretty much every night. Great on the mic but boring as fuck in the ring. Chops, laughable face flops, backing into a corner like a wuss, the wooooo, & the being tossed off the top turnbuckle & then press repeat for the next night, the next town, & the next group of fans. What'd I tell ya? Boring as fuck! And NO, I'm no fan of Bruno's either, but at least he didn't always wrestle the same match all the time. But Flair, boring as fuck! And if you don't like it, I don't care!
Larry Zbyszko is GOLD!!! He played that woman like a fiddle!
Oh, yes he did!
In case people could not tell, when it came to The WWWF/WWF Philadelphia was Bruno Sammartino Country.
RIP Kayfabe
All three of these wrestlers were great heels.
God bless Larry Zbyszko. The man truly cares about his "work".
It had been five years since Larry turned on Bruno, and the crowd is still angry, like it happened that day. You could see the hatred in their eyes. Nothing like that anymore.
It's funny because Bruno broke him in and is his idol. He knows how to work the gimmick.
Classic days, this shows how believable these guys were and respected.
refreshing not having a sarcastic host & crowd mocking pro wrestling....the the crowd brought into the bruno/ larry storyline without doubt ....innocent times/ fun times
You said it, I was thinking the same thing.
Because it was real
Like Sally Jesse Raphael did
This is great! None of them broke Kayfabe! Brilliant!
dude on that first phone call was seriously upset..lol..so was the lady in audience..damn
Wish that wrestling would be like this today, dang!
Larry was just awesome
Ric Flair is just great.
I miss the days of kayfabe! Notice the crowd then- all ages- both young and older woman as well. Today, if you go into the local market, you'd be hard pressed to find ladies who know the current wrestling scene. Back then, everyone was up on the goings ons of wrestling.

Miss the days when we thought it was all real
“RIC FLAIR & TULLY BLANCHARD HAD ALL THE LADIES,THE ORIGINAL 4 HORSEMEN FOR LIFE!!!!”💪💪🤑🤑💵💵💰💰💸💸🎯💯👍✌️
Thumbs up to Wally Kennedy for not asking the cliche "is wrestling fake" question?
The mythical, wondrous, extraordinary, beautiful, and enchanting land of kayfabe!
that old man is conservatively 85 years old. That mean he’s born around 1900 so he probably goes back as a fan to the era of frank gotch
You think like me.
@@PaulShaw-ex7ri cool man
Lol how Larry pisses off the fans and the fans buy it.
Larry was ALWAYS a great heel.
OMG......"I can't understand you, do you speak English?"....lol
Because he was shooting
Awesome to hear Bruno be brought up!
Larry was such a great heel. Doesn’t get enough credit. Very believable
The old lady shit talking Flair from the audience is awesome. She's as serious as a heart attack too!
Thank you for a fantastic gem!! Great upload!
One of the few videos where ALL the wrestlers are still alive today. Very rare anymore. Just saying.
Loved the heat back then...back when there was still that shadow of thought that this might be real....
It's awesome because they shoot, yet also stay in Kayfabe. Larry really takes the cake here!
I really wanted to hear what Flair had to say about Hulk Hogan back in these days. Neither the NWA or the WWF acknowledeged one another back then, and it would have been interesting to hear what Flair had to say about Hogan and the WWF.
Flair trashed Hogan all the time in the magazines.
Flair and Hogan didn't get along in that time
I really liked how Larry handled that one!
Larry is GREAT!!!!
No more than Larry said, he got the crowd going the most.
"Boo on me!"
One word, LARRY!
Awesome!

Didn't they all suddenly stop bleeding when Magic was diagnosed with AIDS?
The female asking about Bruno was a plant. Come on fans..
Flair was drunk from the night before
i see a 4 in that future
Should of Booked it, Flair, vs Bruno, this is when, ppl, even us die hards, thought it was real, let alone the casuals.
@stupifiedgig You are so right. Wrestling was so great back in 84-86.
i went to that 6/12/85 event. that was the day after i graduated h.s.
WOOOOOOOOO
sadly Flair was going to drop the title to Magnum before the accident
Yup 💯
The business was so professional back then, we truly believed it. It was like reality.
WWF fails to mention the Spectrum and always talks about Madison Square Garen and NY. Philly is WWF territory before the days of ECW which explains the WWF talk and the talk fromm older folks who love Bruno. Looks like from 86
I think it's 1985, by 86 Baby Doll was no longer associated with Tully (who was with the Horsemen).
@oldschool6804
Sure...Lot's of old school guys were about selling tickets. But to say this is like MMA or even boxing is silly....
@RevDarkehorse good pick
Larry getting more attention than Flair, Larry, and Tully both Better than Flair.

Oh low blow, I am actually a Huge Terry Funk fan......Dory was cool too..
Larry Legend. The rest are just clowns. The man sells the business as it was meant to be.
Hahahaha...so true!
I used to hope that Tully Blanchard would compete in a hair match, and if Tully lost, instead of his head being shaved, Baby Doll's head would be shaved instead. @RevDarkehorse He should have been in one way, but egos.....
