I’ve said this a few times .. he should be in the celebrity wing of the Wwe hall of fame. He definitely used his platform to promote the Wwe back than and played along with kayfabe when they were there
God they couldn't do a interview like this today could they? Arsenio brings up the 14th Amendment and 30 seconds later DiBiase says "He was my Slave" LOL. Even more incredible is Hercules was white
Ted Dibase Million Dollar Man character was the highlight of the 80's and 90's Pro Wrestling. Lol the look on Virgil face when Dibase said slave was priceless. Arsenio Hall was a classic antagonist to Dibase.
I think Vince ensured his talent didn't mistreat celebrities since that's bad press that the WWF didn't want nor need, especially where unlike most other promoters, Vince supposedly encouraged his talent to go mainstream if they can since it'll bring his product even more exposure.
Loved the duo of debiase and Virgil, They made the perfect villains and had an awesome gimmick. Damn I miss the 80z and 90z lol. The demolition , ultimate warrior , road warriors , etc. money money money money monee eeee eeeeh eeee lol.
Arsenio always had awesome wrestling guest. The only late nite talk show to give wrestling and rap a platform plus had all the action stars as a 80s kid arsenio was a hero to us . Thanks Arsenio
Y'all wanna know what's crazy about this lol? Back in the dressing room before they came out and after the interview was over, Virgil was more-than-likely laughin' and cuttin' up with Arsenio and telling him how much he enjoys his show
Absolutely one of the best actors the WWE ever produced. He was a villain at a much needed time for new characters as the WWF was heading into the WWE era. Really cool improvisation, we prepared and excellent delivery that can’t be taught in acting school.
Ted is my favorite all-time heel. This man made you hate him. And then he got into the ring and showed how good of an in-ring tactician he was. I just loved him. And now, he's a brother in Christ. That's even better.
Man, Arsenio and the WWF at the time had an amazing chemistry. ALL of these appearances from WWF stars were immediate classics. They're basically a promotion for the WWF, any of its upcoming events, while also doubling as comedy sketches where you get the see Arsenio be the "cowardly" comedian who always risks "getting in harm's way" just to pull off a joke. But it's ALSO the unintended aspects of it that make it even THAT much more entertaining. For example, watching the guys who were supposed to be playing bad guys try to keep a straight face in front of the cameras in spite of Arsenio's jokes is so funny to me 😂😂 I'll give you two examples- if you haven't done so, check out the time that Zeus was a guest, and also when Bad News Brown was a guest. Both guys were fighting to stay in character in both appearances. I almost saw Boss Man crack up here once or twice. These are very special little corners and crumbs of wrestling history, and I am so very grateful that they are here and available for us to enjoy once again.
Lmao 1:58 I am without a doubt the wealthiest man alive. I get my way. Ultimately I always get what I want, I buy anyone I want and in the end i'll have it all. I already have all the money in the world.
Man Ted Dibiase was and still is as sharp as a knife. He played this character and had a way with words and answering questions quick witted. This was an extremely tough character to play and had to be balanced well because of the whole "buying people , slave thing as a white man who thinks he could buy anyone arrogant to boot. He treaded the line perfectly
Accdg to Dibiase when they were in public Virgil carried all his things but when they arrived inside the Hotel room. Its see you tomorrow and they parted ways. Virgil in other room same with Dibiase.
This is probably a stretch but any chance you have the rest of this episode or have access to it?? I've been looking for the complete episode for years now...
Dibiase said that he was not maried and he didn't have a kid. But Ted DiBiase Jr. was living in that time and also in 2010 or 2011 Virgil told Ted Dibiase Jr. that he had known him since he had been kid. Big contradiction
@@DavidSmith-rv2hw I'm referring to as a character. Who boastfully and arrogantly claimed specifically he can buy anybody. He never called Virgil his slave but as a wrestling character when he's bought supposedly other people he claimed they were his slave. Like the wrestling character Hercules. so it sure seem to suggest Virgil was his slave as well.
I love how Virgil is merely a torn shoe lace in the wrestling world!!! It's pathetic how much he still tries to hold onto something that he never was🤣🤣🤣 shine my shoes boy🤣🤣🤣🤣
What kinda lucky you gotta be to have Vince McMahon decide to fund you putting on a front as extremely wealthy? Go out and live it up on him as promotion. Man was he hated though.
That Ben Johnson joke from Arsenio was fucking class 😂😂😂
Arsenio Hall was a huge WWF fan. His late night show was one of the greatest
ARSENIC Hall may have been a HUGE WWF fan but was ARSENIO Hall?!

How did Virgil not crack LOL. The Million Dollar Man is retroactively my favorite gimmick of all time.
That's what I was thinking too.
I remember watching this when it aired and I could not stop laughing. Especially when Arsenio asks Virgil if he was with the Pips at one time.
At one point he 100% was about to break. He was doing everything in his power to stop the 3% smile that came out lol! He was pro
Love this, Ted is trying so hard not to laugh 😂😂
Ted DiBiase was cool.
He WAS the Million Dollar Man. He made you believe him. What a good bad guy.
Amazin
Ted was one of the best performers WWE had. He deserved to be the champ at least once.
Love how they never broke character, Ted was magnificent, legend 👏
OMG this is soooo good. These guys are having a blast and the audiance is eating it up
Ted Dibase Million Dollar Man character was the highlight of the 80's and 90's Pro Wrestling. Lol the look on Virgil face when Dibase said slave was priceless. Arsenio Hall was a classic antagonist to Dibase.
Ted at times looked like that he had a hard time trying to keep a straight face when Arsenio makes a joke.
I like how Ted breaks character to say hi to Robert Loggia
That "nice to meet you" whisper 😂
I wonder what Robert loggia was thinking

DiBiase is now a preacher who ministers to men about ethics.
No one even comes close to Ted Dibase, he was my childhood favourite wrestler and all time favourite heel

best heel ever
He was pinning everyone.
At 8:03 when Arsenio asks for Virgil’s last name he should of just said Rhodes 🤣
"Virgil, you sang with the Pips!" Had me weak!!! Lmbo
The perfect HEEL AND THE HENCHMAN!
1 of the greatest heels ever.

You can see Ted trying to stay in character after the “Pips” comment 😂 😂🤣😂🤣🤣

Ted could be in a Die Hard Movie.
More like They Live with Roddy Piper.
He was Han's in Die Hard
Finally enough I always thought he had a similar regal bearing like Alan Rickman and bit of Richard Gears smoothness.
@@razakmanifyyes he definetly looks like hans in Die hard

Those where the days that wrestlers did not break characters on T.V. shows or media interviews!
Best heel ever invented by Vince
Because the character was basically Vince himself
Virgil said in an Interview that when on this show, he Farted but could not laugh because he had to stay in character. That was funny.
His Kayfabe was impeccable

black people still work as bodyguards for whites
