I used to have same prob. Wire (black with yellow stripe) from relay under the dashboard at driver's side (RHD) to the starter have problem. No voltage at starter when engine is warm (But have voltage at relay). Making no start issue when the engine is warm. I just replace that wire with new one and problem solved. 4 years already & still okay till now. plus no need to add additional wiring and relay to the car. Cheers.

Hey dude, I’m trying to do what you did but my relay is under the hood, not under the dash board. And (RHD) means right hand drive? Coz I live in San Francisco and my 94 e36 is left hand… I don’t think I have a relay under the dashboard. Can you help me out pls. Thanks

Bro I have a problem, is the same car and it has a full battery but when I starts it at the first time it starts, but it starts weak, it barely starts, sound like it does not has battery but it has, I change the battery and the terminal but is the same problem, I clean the terminals and is the same problem. Help pls.
I'm sorry that I didn't give a clear picture of the connections. Many workshop will be able to assist you if you want to be safe. Originally, the key ignition wire is supplying the starter's solenoid. However this wire deteriorated and couldn't give enough current. This modification takes this deteriorated solenoid wire to signal the relay only. The relay has one cable tapping the starter's terminal. This terminal has positive 12V from the battery, capable of delivering lots of current. Another relay's terminal is connected to solenoid's terminal, that you just took out its cable from the instruction above. When the key is turned, the relay is going to help deliver high current from the battery 12V to solenoid.

@@mengsuan I have 2001 BMW Z3 and I think I have the same issue. There are 2 small wires the black and yellow is the smallest only giving me .08 volts and the black one is ok 12 volts. You think this is a good candidate to try? The Starter is 100 percent good I bench test it and I actually bought a new alternator and didnt work just click
@@capicapuchino5675 you can try it. in my case, starter & relay also in 100% working condition. i replaced that wire with new ones. problem solved. 5 years already with no problem arises. 👍🏻👍🏻😁
fuel as in check the gas right if thats the case i have alot of gas in it ive never checked for spark where do i check sparks from or where do i check for compression

Just curious so the original starter if not good why didn't you just replace it?
After reading the comments here, I feel that it could be aging wire problem. I’ve just merely borrowed power from the starter to solenoid

my e35 bmw cranks but starts what could be my problem
Standard procedure. Check fuel, check spark, and if both are fine, check compression.

@@mengsuan also i found out that my boot intake had ripped on it so i replaced it and still crank no start
For fuel, check the fuel pump whether it is working. You may need a mechanic to guide you through the troubleshooting
