World Mechanics I have 2008 328i when you push the start button it acts like it’s cranking but doesn’t turn over we’ve replaced fuel pump still nothing but when you spray in starter fluid it starts briefly what else can I check ? Please someone call or text me 8069391316 I’m desperate

World Mechanics please I have a problem with my BMW E46 N42 320i 2003 ...
the transmission light comes on at speed 3 when I drive my car after it’s being stop for more than an hour ,,, when the light come on I immediately turn the car Off for less than a minute, after that I start again and it goes well all the way , and it does not happen again until the car stops for more than hour.
This issue was happening ones a day , but now many times.
Please I need your suggestions for what to check and what to do.

I have a BMW N54. The last time this happened, it was my battery. I replaced that, and it's been about a year now and now it's doing it again. My car didn't start when i shut it off at a light a couple days ago. I heard a clicking noise So I'm convinced it was the starter. I just changed the starter, and now there is no clicking noise but it still won't start. All my lights are on so the battery is good. I'm gonna unplug this relay out and in again and see what happens, I'm also going to replace the battery in my key since it was low a couple weeks ago. I will come back with an update!
Guys, I found the problem. I changed my relay, my key battery, I tested my battery, I changed the relay, I changed the starter. None of this worked! It turns out it was my GROUND STRAP underneath driver's side, going from body to the engine. The engine was not getting ground, the strap was all corroded and literally broke by just touching it. I changed it with one from the auto parts store and my car started right back up!
If you tried hooking up cables to jump start your car, and nothing happens (even if your lights turn on on the dash) Then you need to check your ground strap!! I should have started with that first and saved me hundreds of bucks. Hope this helps someone before you go changing parts.

I have 2008 BMW 335xi. Initially I got no crank on pressing the start button, I removed the relay and tried to start sometime and then put the relay back and I was greeted with multiple failure messages. Airbag failure, ABS failure, Break failure and what not. I am going to order the relay and replace. Please advise.

@@MalucciPugh I replaced the relay but it did not work for me. I sold that BMW, the buyer later updated me that he replaced the starter and its working. Later I realised that couple of days before it stopped working It happened that I took the car in the flood water.. I think the flood water damaged the starter.

OKAY we thought this was the STARTER relay as the car wont start and had a no crank..so we jumoed this black relay across the terminals and now all the headlites, brake lites, and dome lites and wipers wont shut off with car off.ALSO car is automatic and now shitfer wont move..cant shift..PLEASE HELP.

Let me add to the list of thank you’s! My mechanic told me it was the starter and possibly even the engine locked up. I paid him for his diagnostic test and told him what I found out from looking at your video. He told me with no hesitation and with a look of disgust. “ That is not the problem I’m telling you it’s the starter” In front of him I pulled out the relay and reinstalled it and the my car started right up. Now he’s asking me what relay I removed for future repairs on other vehicles. Thank you! You saved me tons of money on unnecessary work.

Here's my story so make sure you sit next to a fire pit 😅 - I remember moving my 330xi back and forth one day it was parked and I just literally moved it forth and back, wile the car was working just fine prior to this, the next day I tried moving it to go somewhere, it didn't wanted to start, no crank, no start, all it did was like a metallic cranking sound, I went into trusty UA-cam and found this video, tried everything as shown here and nothing worked, called a mechanic, he came and checked it... He told me the starter had just died. Same week I buy the starter and call another mechanic to get it installed for me... When he finished working on the starter to my surprise in the process of mounting and fixing the starter, bunch of hoses from the ccv were now broken or lose, so I now had to replace those as well.... Bought the lower ccv hose and the upper ccv hose, bought also one hose from the breather line that sits just right on top of the alternator, so now fast forward, I bought everything, put everything back together, and for my surprise... Battery just died on me also... Now I'm just waiting til tomorrow, cuz since everything is coronized now businesses closes early, to get a new battery.

I have a 2009 BMW 328i and I had the same problem, car ran great and went it to start it and nothing just a click. I researched the bmw forem and found no answer so I changed the relay start fuse and still nothing I charged the battery and still nothing, tried jump starting the car and nothing, all the light worked fine too, so I pulled the starter and had it checked at a o Reilly’s store and it failed so I put in a new starter and she started right up! I hope this helps someone with the same problems.

2007 328xi wouldn't start yesterday after thousands of good starts. Push button nothing. Lights on and off but no power going to the starter. Watched this video and bought a relay, replaced it and the car started. Let it run for a few minutes and then turned it off and immediately tried to restart. No start. Push button no power to starter. Felt the relay and it was warm not molten hot by any means but noticably warm. Any tips on where to go now? I will test the new and old relay tomorrow.

Have 2009, 328i, 96k. Drove all day then stopped one last stop, 10 min. Boom, no start. Tried jumping. Only dash lights, interiors, beeping doors but no start. Got towed to garage. was starter . Replaced & Back on the road! :)
im in the same boat, replaced the IBS sensor (negative battery cable) but no change, ended up being the starter
I have this problem now but 2015 model f34 and doors beeping won’t lock, telling me that battery is now quick drain, interior lights and radio etc all working but when I click to start it just makes a single clunk.

I have a 2009 bmw 328i. It died one day and it wouldn't do absolutely anything. Wouldn't jump. Wouldn't turn over. I assumed starter. But right after I purchased a starter, it started working...I replaced the battery and the ibs sensor. Now it cranks strong, but won't start, no codes.

Wow, my neighbor told me about the relay and I didn’t believe him but now I’m going to attempt.
I had the car in the shop. I paid three grand to take it out and after a month it would not turn on only crank. My 335D would shut off every five minute until I made it back home. I shall try this. Any other advise I will take?

Some times the car starts with no problem. Other times it does the exact thing as in your video. Could the relay still be the problem.

Same issue I’m having I had it towed to a shop and he’s telling me it’s my starter but a new starter was put on a year ago. I’m going to try this. Long hesitations to start then just stopped all together. I get one click and nothing else

I don't know how to test a relay, but I do own a digital multimeter, so I suppose I could just look it up.
I have a 2011 bmw 328i. One day I hit a curve 30 minutes later. The car cut off. I replace the +cable from the battery but it didn’t help. What I found out that there is a square relay that was getting very hot. Any ideas why that relay was getting so hot. Please let me know.onces the relay got cold it would re start nicely .

Hi! I have exactely the same problem! Mainly in summer, when wheater is hot. After long or fast ride car always wont start. I need to pick up the hood and wait until it cool down. After 30-60 minutes of waiting everything works fine and car start from first hit. Do you know what was the issue?

Hello all. I performed an oil change on my 2011 DUDMD Tuned 335D and was stepping through the odometer button and pulled the key out. Now the vehicle cranks but will not start with the above error and the 2 below.
KL30g F Cutoff>Not Currently Detected
Electronic Fuel Pump Motor Current Too High>Not Currently Detected: Invalid Signal.
The car was running fine prior to me pulling the key out, I tried to replacing the Ignition Lock Assembly and still will not start.
Any assistance would be great.

Anyone here know what the problem I have is , I have a 2007 328xi , recently my radiator pipe kicked the bucket , unfortunately it was when I was driving so all the coolant leaked out before anything ,I stopped the car and parked before it started to overheat , and after it cooled down I moved it 10 feet just to get it off the road . A week later my car won't crank or nothing , I fixed the radiator issue , I unplugged and replugged this relay in the. Vid , and then I even disconnected my battery and did a obd reset , I'm super frustrated and lost on this .

Hi I don’t know if you still check this but I really need help. My car hasn’t started in a week and I’ve been trying to determine why. Every time I tried to start it, the battery would fluctuate in volts as low as 7v. After replacing all the fuses and one camshaft sensor, I’ve cleared all engine codes and I decided to take a look at the starter. I bought it used, but it was working well up until the car turned off. With a full battery in the car, the starter reinstalled and all repairs finalized; I got in the car today, and one single click. A couple of times it started to crank but same problem, major battery drop out. Any help from anyone would be great, thanks

Bro. My bmw 320i not starting. Car is automatic.When I put d gear N then it’s start. When I put P not starting. Some time key also stuck. What is this problem. Can you help me pls.
I have an ‘06 330i. When I insert the fob, the dashboard lights up. When I apply the brake and hit the start button, everything shuts down. Any ideas?

Hi Guys.
I have 2009 bmw x5 4.8. The same noise is heard from the fuse box while starting and stopping the car. And when I try to turn off the car the headlights and the alarm lights don't turn off. I changed the fuse box on the front and the relays on the back, the fuse box and the roles from which this noise comes from. but the problem was not solved. The car does not turn off the ignition and the rear lights and headlights indicator lights do not turn off. I have to unplug the battery every time

Where is the starter relay located? I have a no crank start and I already replaced the fuel pump relay?

My car was working fine all day came to the liquor on the way home from work & now it won’t start 😅 the battery & lights turn on in my car when I press the start button & so does the AC which doesn’t usually work unless the engines on. I had no lights on my dash & now tht this problem occurred the service soon light came on. Could this be the same issue?

Hey i have a e90. 335 xdrive and I hit a tire last night my battery light came on along with my 4x4 also my car over heated and turned off I didn’t know it was overheating because I have no meter to tell me but I tried starting the car. Today it wouldn’t even crank I’m just wondering what should I be checking for in my car for why it doesn’t turn all the lights but the stereo work.
Was the break pedal hard to press when it couldn’t start

2008 328i it doesn’t start and the brake is hard . The battery just got it not to long ago .. helps a brother out..?
Johnny Flores same problem, drove to the gas station turned it off went inside and when I came back out it wouldn’t start up
Same, turned it off for literally 20 seconds and it won’t turn back on.

Looking for some guidance. Same thing happened to me where the car would not start, after a few minutes the car did start with out doing anything. However, I also noticed the time on the radio got reset? Does this mean anything else?

I have a 2003 330ci BMW . I am having a hard time finding out why it won't start . I've tryed almost everything . Even sent key and white box in to get reprogramed . And still nothing . It has battery power just won't turn car over alot like what is happening in this video . Any idea"s?

I have a 2006 BMW 325 I changed the valve covered gasket it ran rough now it's got no start and when it was running it has no throttle pedal like it staying in idle mode push the gas powder down nothing now it has no start
