Today we're taking a look at some amazing Sonnox plugins, the Oxford Dynamics, SuprEsser, and Dynamic EQ.
If you’ve seen any of our reviews/demo’s in the past, you know how we do these things. I open up the plugin for the first time, put it on, and try it out. This way, you get my real reaction to using this plugin. My first experience will be your first experience!
We’ve had a chance to try out some Sonnox plugins in the past, and we love them!

Fantastic Kyle! Yes, yesterday was a bit of a precursor to todays video! Glad you enjoyed the plug in! I was very impressed my friend!

HI Friends, I'm a bit late to the Sonnox party! Here I get to try the SuprEsser, Dynamics and EQ! All of them were a lot of fun to use and gave me great results! Thanks ever so much for watching and being a huge part of our community!
Superb!
Dis Inc marvellous!
Marvellously marvellous!
Haha thanks Apple!
These gorgeous pieces of software really allow you to tame and control the "nasty stuff" so efficiently and easily! I'm blown away!
Hi Jürgen Schuler Thanks ever so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video my friend!
I've used these at a friends studio and they sound fantastic. Saving up to get the Elite Sonnox.
Hi Jin J that’s great to hear! Thanks for sharing!
What an amazing EQ. Love it.
Thx for the vid Warren :)
Thanks ever so much Dave! I really appreciate it!!

Spitfire Music Thanks ever so much!
Excellent plug ins!
Agreed! Great stuff indeed!
Marvellously marvellous!
Haha thanks Apple!
Thanks warren! Amazing plugins!
From this video, I can see I have been ignoring some advantages of dynamic EQ. (I have WAVES F6, which has been serving me well in emergency situation). All Sonnox plugins seem to be pretty sweet. Guess I'll put some on my Christmas list :-)
Hi Rob Simpson absolutely! This was my initial use of the plug in! Even now I’ve used it more and begun to really find how even more amazing it is!!
@@Producelikeapro It seems no matter how much experience we have, there's still always something cool to learn.
Rob Simpson definitely! Agreed 100%! There is always amazing to learn my friend!
They’re on 50% off until the end of November, have an early Christmas! Just bought mine too.
Cool. @@Tee-mq2zn Thanks for the heads up.
Maybe this is a stupid question. With de-essing, you want the bandwidth as small as possible and the amount of reduction as much as required. However, how do you define the exact frequency that needs to be ducked? It is obviously in the higher frequency spectra, but it always varies from timbre to timbre. If I understand your workaround correctly, it is a matter of “trial & error” until you have the sweet spot, right?
Hi Kevin, what I love about the Sonnox DeEsser is the fact you can set it wider and it grabs all of the offending areas! I would try the demo and see if it works for you! I am impressed with it! Otherwise as you are pointing out you'll need to use several DeEssers set to different frequencies to do the same job!
Thank you!
Kevin you’re very welcome!
thanks for this - watching you as you do it helps so much! :)
Thanks! That’s great to hear!!
A question for FAQ Friday! - When mixing what do you mean when you talk about a mix having 'depth' or when talking about 'front to back'? Terms like 'clarity' are easy enough to understand but how would you describe these other terms, or some of the more obscure/abstract sayings we use?
That EQ is really neat. I asked myself, couldn't you achieve the SuprEsser results with the EQ? Since it's a dynamic EQ?
Hi Peter Brandt yes! With experimentation you can definitely use multiple tools to do similar things! I like the simplicity of the SuprEsser!
@@Producelikeapro It's not, that I wouldn't like it, but since we all are on a budget of some sort, I'd prefer to buy the more versatile plugin, at least at first ;). Thanks for your reply, Warren.
Hi Peter Brandt I completely understand! Makes perfect sense!
@@Producelikeapro Hi Warren, I tried to download the files but a window came up and said my E-mail adress has been canceled because of spam/abuse. I did nothing of that. Can you check this please?
Hi FrancisJoa that’s very strange? I’ve never heard of anything like that before. can you email us at support@producelikeapro.com ? Many thanks
Hi Warren! If I bring the Master Fader down in PT, would this affect my plugins on the inserts ( input level hitting a plugin, therefore reducing the sound)?
I definitely need a de-esser.😁
Great set of plugins - hope I'll win ;-) Great video! Thanks Warren ;-)
Good on ya Warren !..... Screw your critics .. keep doing what your doing ...the more venerable you are ,the better.. on the fly you kick ass because you know your shnizle!!!!awesome mate.
How does these compare today
Hey Warren! I know you're a busy guy but I wanted to send a huge thank you for all the tips and videos. I produced my first solo album myself and that's at least 90% because of you. It's my first production, so if you ever look at the video you might cringe a bit at the stuff you'll hear but hey, we all start somewhere. ;) Anyway thank you again! ua-cam.com/video/wmWheu81uzU/v-deo.html
Thanks ever so much Herr Nox! That's very kind of you! I'm so glad to be able to help!
How does this compare to the Waves F6 dynamic eq ?
Clint McLain marvellous question! I will have to try them both out together!
