I'm excited that uad finally offered a dynamic eq with a frequency analyzer. I will say that the Hofa IQ EQ does everything this does (including independent sidechain processing, and mid side processing). Also the filters sound great and there are 6 bands, all of which range from
1 Hz - 40 kHz and additionally high pass and low pass filters with interactive q shapes. It also allows you to have many instances open all for the DSP of only one instance. So it's ultimately a more useful eq, although maybe not as pretty, and also not available for live processing in console. Thanks for your review!

Hello Fabfilter, keep up the good work:-) Pro-R is the last one I still haven't got but it will change soon.

This is 5 years ago and the video says he's not aware of another dyamic EQ that "can key a different frequency than the one you're processing" (aka, sidechain independency). Has that changed? Do any others do this yet?
It blows my mind that people aren't demanding to be able to use a different frequency range of the 'dummy' sidechain audio (i.e., the audio that won't end up in the final mix) to tell the plugin when to dynamically apply a totally different EQ shaping to the important audio that you're processing. It would seem trivial to implement too.

So when should we use a dynamic EQ versus a static EQ?

Lol I was thinking the same thing. I'm waiting for Fab Filter to add the dynamic EQ to the Pro-Q. We all know its coming eventually.

Pro-MB can be used as a dynamic EQ

Eden Puder thanks for the info. I will look into that one.

Hmmm... so is an EQ with compressors on each band.

yeah, you can also choose to process only the sides or mid channels of a signal as well, not sure he mentioned it
