the devs of both games are friends, and as such help each other with things here and there, so undoubtedly there'll be some crossovers and similarities

I’m mainly concerned about feature creep getting in the way of delivering a game that not only looks and sounds great but also functions as a whole. This will probably be an Early Access title, so I hope the devs take their time creating a masterpiece of a game. All the hype surrounding this game certainly demands it.

Falling Frontier (made by one man) has more strategic and tactical elements than Homeworld 3

with the homeworld 3 flopped, this is my only hope for space game
I’ve been keeping tabs on this game for over a year. I think it will be great for a lot of reasons. But, after the last few years of disappointing releases of previously proven games, I’m skeptical over everything now. Crossing my fingers.

Well now with homeworld 3 out and burning...again. We can still pin our hopes on this one.
homeworld 3 is terrible.
This is my most anticipated game but im starting to fear its becoming too hyped. We still know very little about how the game will be played, all we have is come outstanding but produced videos showcasing not so much gameplay but isolated parts of it. In our minds now is starting to grow an imagination about how amazing this game will be and I wonder if reality could ever keep up with it or if it will just fall flat when finally released.
So far FF looks to offer EXACTLY what I want in a game and even though I try to hold myself back I cant help but be childishly excited for it!
if a ship is about to lose control can its last act be to pick a vector that will crash it into an enemy city? do ships have any weapons attacks that move other ships..if not it could be a bad day planetside 😀are tractor beams too exotic/distant future?

Any word on avaiable weapon types? It looks fun but I'm really hoping it has interesting scifi weapons like Lasers., Particle beams, and Plasma cannons instead of just projectile weapons like Autocannons and Railguns
This game is in development since years by one person. Now he has a bit help from other persons he hired for things like ship design.
On discord todd the developer said it would be 2025 for early access subjekt to change. So it could be delayed another time. Cause he wants to produce the best game he can, its his first game he make so, let him do his dream game and be happy it will come someday in the future.

I agree, but before that you could play Star Wars Empire at War, Sins of a Solar Empire 1 and many more great games.
needs to just release in EA like manor lords did, after multiple years of saying the game would come out i just need this game ;)

Seems to have disappointed. I found the control scheme to be fairly bad and I think just lacking the quality of past releases.

"After the absolute disappointment that was HM3".. HUH.. the game is a lot of fun. 25 hrs in so far, and having a blast. Sure, some things need to be adjusted, but it's still a good game.

i would appreciate if games just launched coming from nowhere with stellar quality rather than games that appear everywhere on development without precise date then bummer on release (always like this most of the time..)

With the total clusterfuck that is Homeworld 3, this will be worth waiting for.
But falling frontier is a 2D game basically.
Unfortunately the more I see of this game, the more I feel it's going to disappoint in the end, and just be your bog standard paper-rock-scissors RTS but in a space "setting". The very fact that they added FTL travel has kind of damped my spirits.

HW3 is such a letdown and just shows that you cant even trust the old developers anymore.... The lack of innovation in HW3 is just so depressing, they have just made it easy mode for new players.
