    Best two out of this list are Starsector and Spacebourne 2. Starsector is one of the most unique space games out there, both in gameplay and in lore. And Spacebourne is a very ambitious project that, unlike other certain game, hasn't got half a billion budget and 12 years development cycle with nothing to show for it. So go buy these two. You'll support small developers and will get good games in return

    Starsector and Spacebourne 2 are the best in this list. Both titles have amazing gameplay features and are very fun also cheap price. 500 hours in starsector and 300 in Spacebourne 2 for low prices.

    Spacebourne 2 is kind of cheeseball, but also kind of an amazing feat. They did "most of what Star Citizen promised" on a shoestring budget and a very small dev team. In places, that shows with some dated or simplistic graphics or mechanics, but in others that game shines like you wouldn't believe.

    Ay, no Starship Evo? The ship creation is pretty awesome.
    I can also understand the mounting disappointment with SpaceBourne 2. A lot of people like to say "It puts Star Citizen to shame since it's made by one guy!" but it shows that it's made by one guy. It really is quantity over quality, and ironically suffers from many of the same bugs as Star Citizen, but isn't a multiplayer game. There's also a pretty big issue with art inconsistency since there are a lot of Unreal Engine asset packs used, so some places look completely out of place compared to other places, and the AI is pretty bad most of the time on-foot, but it's decent eough in space. There's a lot there for sure, but other than the space combat it's all extremely unpolished and janky. It's one of those situations where a good QOL and tech-debt sprint would be appreciated to help bring a lot of the disparate elements together and give some of the core gameplay a good polish pass.

    Underspace looks cool. Kudos for putting Star Citizen on there. I don't care about the hate, I love it. There's a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt about the game. But what they've already accomplished is pretty amazing. There's something in there for everyone. No other space game lets you dogfight, control capital ships, mine, salvage, trade, EVA out in space, drive tanks, jeeps, etc. seamlessly with this level of detail all without loading screens. And once you learn the game, making money is pretty easy. With animals, engineering (Be like Scotty), and 800 players in one star system (thanks to server meshing) all in testing or released. It's an exciting time.

    A lot of these seem multiplayer focused. Which isn't good for me because I suck at action games and have no interest in multiplayer space sims which would generally be me getting my ass kicked ad nauseam. Even single player action games on the easiest difficulty which doesn't block access to the full story I usually fail missions or however many missions it takes to save again many times before being able to save again.

    • @LTGamingYoutube
      @LTGamingYoutube  Місяць тому

      A lot of single player stuff here too that you could learn at your own pace. I am a fan of this style of game normally but also like the idea of persistent worlds!

      @@LTGamingUA-cam I like the idea but the part of my brain that controls my limbs and fingers was damaged when I was born. The damage is minor enough I can play the games and I have fun but I'm bad at competitive action games, and in co-op I feel like I'm more of a burden on my team then a help. Playing with friends and family who understand my issues and know what they are getting into is fine but I don't want to ruin someone's fun online.

  • @valashar5313

    To me Star Citizen isn't worth trying to get into because it's got nothing I could see for new players to grab onto. They've spent so much time catering to their whales dropping tens of thousands of dollars to own the newest flashy ship they're never going to use in game and forgotten anyone outside of that exclusive club. It's a game where you're either a high paying insider or it's not worth even a tiny fraction of it's cost because its content is inaccessible to new players.

    That VR game looks like something out of the 90's. It may have good game mechanics, but the graphics are piss poor. This is 2024; if that is all that VR has to offer, then it's no wonder hardly any company wants to support it. Though Half Life Alyx looks good, so maybe it's just lazy jank from the devs. Frankly, VR hasn't gone anywhere in the last 10 years, maybe in 20 years we will have something worthwhile in VR, with haptics.
    Star CItizen has been called a glorified tech demo, and I would have to agree. A lot of people are saying there is hardly any game, but plenty of beautiful scenery. I got duped years ago, just like others did, into buying their $45 intro packet. I thought I was buying an actual game, when only later through researching it was to get a foot into the tech demo. Scam Citizen is the right name to call it.
    SpaceBourne2 puts Starfield to utter shame; especially when the devs of Starfield blame the player base. I hope SB2 pans out. I have the first one and it was ok until near the end where it got really janky; but over all it was a decent game.

    Would have never thought I'd see Star Citizen end up on your recommend for this year list ;)
    Underspace is a disappointing product,. that's what they get calling them a successor to Freelancer.. to big a name to live up to imho.
    Spacebourne 2 from this list get's my biggest thumbs up.
    And 2d games.. man I'm still waiting on Birth Of The Federation 2 ( though that IP is not cheap to develop for, and I fear no big name publisher will dare take on a such a game in current age of 3d 4x games availability ).

    • @LTGamingYoutube
      @LTGamingYoutube  Місяць тому +2

      I was way too addicted to Star Citizen a few weeks back and took a break! Something about that game draws me in for hours. We would all like a Birth of the Federation 2! Star Trek: Infinite was not the product we were ultimately looking for. Appreciate the feedback! :)

      @@LTGamingUA-cam I just enjoy the turn based 2d galaxy, combined with some 3d combat ( though the combat could be 3d real time, instead of turn based.. could be, not sure how it would work out but current engines are so much more capable ). It would need a fine balance between the 2d strategic galaxy map and 3d battles, but if it can be done it should be done in the ST universe!
      I 'severely dislike' the plethora of SW games in comparison lol ;)

    11:25 No we should not go any easier on Star Citizen. Starsector has a dev team of only four people with the barest of minimal budgets and it's a better product than Star Citizen with its massive dev team and nearly BILLION dollar budget. When you've got a budget eclipsed only by Genshin Impact and have less completed product than four part-timers you've officially failed and deserve every ridicule.

  • @therexbellator
    @therexbellator Місяць тому +2

    I don't hate or love Star Citizen but I don't think the legitimate criticism against it should be swept aside as "hate" because the game and its production have some questionable qualities, from the decades-long list of scope creep, to the monetization of space ships with real cash, to Chris Roberts and his wife's extravagant lifestyle thanks to the tens of millions of dollars poured into the game.
    Star Sector's long development time isn't really analogous. It's not like the developer has managed the product the way Chris Roberts and CSI have managed Star Citizen. At some point you need to stop adding features and work on what you have and CS has failed to do that for years.

    • @Billy-bc8pk
      @Billy-bc8pk Місяць тому

      Did you see everything they promised people in the Kickstarter? There is no scope creep, they just promised waaaaaay too much initially, and promised stuff based on technologies that literally did not exist at the time. They've spent the better part of the decade having to build the tech to build the gameplay that they promised in the Kickstarter. There's a UA-camr who did a video about this exact subject and how much Star Citizen's scope creep has actually impacted the project, and it turns out that they haven't actually expanded the scope much -- the biggest hurdle that they created for themselves was the Planet Tech they introduced that the Crytek engineers unlocked, which would enable CIG to build out a seamless universe with zero loading screens.
