I had gotten this toy as a child in 2001 and was so excited to have it. Unfortunately the airport lost it as well as all my baggage when moving to California... Now I'm in the market to buy this for my children. This video is awesome, thanks for making it
Sorry to hear about the airport mishap but glad you enjoyed the video! Aside from some of the smaller pieces this is definitely a great fig I'm sure any young kid would enjoy it haha!
Thanks for showing off Megatron and his four "secret" Galvatron modes. I grew up with Armada, so it was nice to see the unboxing as well as the figure.
Armada was the first TF series I was old enough to really follow the plot of and had a good amount of toys of as a kid. I think I only ever had maybe 2 RiD figures including this megs. Glad you enjoyed the video!
It's definitely an amazing bot, unbeatable for it's time for sure and I'd agree that it beats many new figs clean out of the water But some of these new figs are pretty great too, and I love my titan classes!
@@hulksmash8159 Now that I think about it, pretty sure this figure originally retailed for like $40-50 US dollars, I'm curious how much that would be with inflation today because I feel like a figure of this magnitude would qualify as a Commander class minimum by todays standards!
@@nostalgiaunboxings4680 Add about $18 to its original price and you'd be in the neighborhood. *edit: As far as I can figure with inflation it's original price would have about $18 tacked on to it. Lol, just woke up.
I have the Galvatron version of this mold, so maybe they reworked things, but the wings plug into that post next to the tail for Dragster mode perfectly fine with no issues on mine. You can also unplug the codpiece in Claw Mode and pull it down like a lever to activate a "grabbing" action on the four upper fingers. And FINALLY, using the posts in hand mode (this is official BTW) you can attach the Claw Mode to Omega Prime.
Yeah the galvatron version of the mold was retooled to make many of the modes work better although I think I only noticed that the torso has the lever action bit long after I filmed this and it might make certain modes work better than they did for me in the video as well didn't know about the grabbing action or the Omega Prime combo either!
This is the very figure I always wanted as a child. I wish I had him. I love the colours he has as Gigatron, as well as having 10 modes, of which my favourites are: twin-headed Dragon, griffin, bat, and jet.
It's never too late to pick one up if you ever have the spare change! Could probably find an out of box complete one for a lot less than I paid for MISB! It's a pretty sturdy figure overall too so you can play around with it and pose it for display and whatnot without worrying too much, I think the only real points of concern would just be to avoid scratching/chipping the couple paint apps it has
I like how I can buy a brand new figure that's just been released, usually 3rd party that's expensive and impressive but it still doesn't compare to getting a NIB old toy because nostalgia takes you to another level. It really comes across how happy you are here, you take so much time just to appreciate the box :)
True, I was aware of that feature but couldn't tell ya why I didn't try it when I made that mode tbh lol I think maybe I could slightly see the back in one of the example images on the box art and it looked closer to how I had it?
I know nothing about this continuity. I ran across a random video review of the Galvatron, and he looks pretty sick. I couldn't standf the reviewer though, so decided to search for another review. Ran across yours, so here I am. I'm an old AF G1er, but not the typical one. I love the entire IP, and am learning about all of it. Now, you? You rock man. This so far "I'm at the unboxing in the beginning" is a great review. Seeing you get the member berry rush, from you childhood feels, is so cool. That's why we have grown up, and went back to our toys as kids. It's so cool seeing someone several generations later, getting the same sort of buzz us old foagies get, when we get a toy we had, or dreamt of having, when we were kids. This is awesome, and you totally rock man! Kudos!!
This figure intrigues and confuses me. In comparison to earlier and even later six changers this guy gets to have all of his modes and have them ridiculously well. I guess unlike Sixgun, who's development art shows that they were just throwing everything at the wall and seeing what stuck, Megs here was built from the ground up with all of his modes in mind. The extra for modes? they're... well... extra.
Ok, you've sold me on his guy. Guess I need to see what Prime is looking like in this universe, and I'll grab the pair. They're on the list. Prime and Megs are the most represented charecters I think in everyone's collection, aside from whatever their favorite charecter is. Mine is Starscream, but I've still got more Prime's and Meg's than screamer. I've only been collecting for a couple years now though, and I've only got maybe 175 figures or so, mostly modern reps of G1, but I'm branching out. I'm pulling the trigger on transmetal 2 megs at the beginning of next month, and I'll have armada prime around then also. Got armada and gamer megs this month, along with the 2 pack of corpses, and who else... umm...Oh, movie 7 bee, and scourge. Passing on that prime, bee prime blows it away. Anyways, thanks for this 2yo video, you gotta new fan, and sub. I'm gonna go do some content engagement activities on your vids now. take care man! I've got the most neglected, and random channel ever, with a whopping not quite 30 subs lol, go hit it up.
Honestly can't explain the relief at seeing this. Have no idea why buy I suddenly remembered this toy and it's been killing me could hardly remember anything about it weirdly just the badge didn't even remember the wings ha! I was only 7 saved up my pocket money and was so torn between this and the shark and somehow even though i only owned this one I could remember the shark better from staring at the packet for so long.
Its nice to see someone have a video on this guy. So far the only one I found before this was made by Jobby, and its more so a parody rather than review (that, and I'm not too fond of Jobby). Great video none less! You getting the Kingdom figures?
Yes, I plan to get as much of the Beast Wars side of the line as I can, I'm personally not a huge fan of the others though just because I didn't grow up with them and I only have so much money to spend on toys. I already have rattrap, and I think BW Megatron is already pre-ordered! I also have some other older bots I plan to unbox as well!
@@nostalgiaunboxings4680 Solid stuff. For me, I managed to order most of the Maximals and Predicons, and I already somehow got Kingdom Megatron and Rattrap (GameStop has them on sale/ for purchase already according to Peaugh). I was thinking of nabbing this Megatron to add to my Predacon collection as I love his design more than the Transmetal Beast Wars Megatron. That and it'd make a nice counter to my Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus. Also I'm skipping out on some of the retro bots too. My main concern for G1 would be from the Earthrise line, and the new Studio Series line. Other than those, aside from Inferno, the Beast Wars figures are the highlight of Kingdom. Anyways, cannot wait to see what you unbox next!

Sometimes one must stare death in the face to truly appreciate life... or something cool like that I guess lmao I probably should but hey I haven't cut myself since I was a child so maybe I'll just keep rolling the dice
I think I actually ended up finding the instructions stuck to the bottom of the cardboard insert in the box after I finished filming lol, so it does come with them!
I know, right! Set him free! The way I see it. If you're going to buy a toy to just keep it in the box, then you might as well save your money. Because all you're going to be doing is looking at it, not enjoying it. And if you're just going to look at it, you might as well not buy it, let someone else buy it. Someone who'll enjoy it. You obviously only want to make a profit, you're planning on selling in the future. You have no true connection or nostalgia for whatever it is you're collecting.
Somewhat, I was probably around 5 when I started watching it but I barely remember anything from the show aside from some of the characters and only had like 2 toys from it, Armada was when I started getting more into it
