I never questioned the fact that he didn't transform, especially after it was revealed that he was one of the first generation of Cybertronians from Vector Sigma, and two separate episodes stated that it was not until after the Quintessons had been driven from Cybertron that the ability to transform was developed.
Looking at Alpha Trion’s design here it’s become super obvious to me that Sentinel Prime from Dark of the Moon was probably meant to be him. I know in the concept art Sentinel was at one point labeled as Ultra Magnus. So maybe they designed him based off of Alpha Trion and then just cycled through names before landing on Sentinel Prime?
My Transformers OC, Stormchaser, views Alpha Trion as a "grandfather" figure and treats him with a healthy amount of respect. The TR Alpha Trion was one of the first G1 style figures I ever got
Is it just me, or is live action Sentinel's design evocative of Alpha Trion ? The facial hair, spiky shoulders, a similar shade of red, and they even both have capes that look like they're covered in vents.
Please do a The Basics On Huffer. He was my very first G1 Transformer I got as a kid (my uncle bought him for me) so he's always been my favorite. He's more of an underutilized and complex character than realized.
Best regards,
Byron
