  • Bonny is homeless in Chicago. The night before he slept on the train. He says sleeping on the train is safer than sleeping outside. He has been doing this for 4 years!
Every morning he tried to get day labor work. If get's a gig he can get into a hotel for the night. If he doesn't, he panhandles for food and train fare

    About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as UA-cam, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.

I love how a lot of these people featured here wish for better lives for others as well as themselves. I wish this man the best. He has concrete goals for himself, which is a super important step towards getting himself to a safer and more predictable living situation

One of my best friends is 86 years old and remembers the depression as a child and all the poverty, homelessness, and drifting created by it. She also remembers the 1980s, when our modern wave of mass homelessness was created by Reagan's transferring of social service funds to the military, prisons, and police. She says that during the depression, you never heard, "Get a job!" or other mean taunts at poor people. Instead, poor people went door to door asking for food and people gave it to them, and she lived in a well-off section of Illinois where her family and others gave the food. She is appalled by the hate and hostility directed toward the homeless and the poor today. It's always good to have a reminder that things haven't always been the way they are now. It means improvement is not impossible for us, that meanness isn't just something innate and unchanging in society.

When I went to Chicago for two summers...I thought finding work would be so easy, it was NOT. In fact, brutal. He's right about the outer neighborhoods being dangerous/gangs. He's has blue ice eyes...if he's reading these comments-go to look into dental schools-many times they will offer you free services-this poor man needs teeth. good bless

Best places for "free lunch and supper" in Chicago and Evanston: Beth Emet Synagogue on Weds (always did seconds and thirds) 😆; Holy Name Cathedral on State St (forgot what day it was) but they had the best meatballs and gravy mm .. mm .. yum !! You don't wanna miss Thanksgiving 😄; Ebenezer church in Evanston, best "soul food" this part of Chicagoland .. And there was one on Wilson Ave just off Truman College on Tuesdays; St Thomas of Canterbury on Thursdays .. Those were the days !! 🤣😂

Am sure it hard to stay clean when you live on the street ! the fews money people give you .. that goes on food first! when you are homeless for more than 4 years .. ! am sure your chance to be hired by company are slim! because prejuddiced again homelessness! some of them have just bad luck like Bobby!
