I'm surprised the kpop idols aren't using wigs?! I feel like using wigs for music videos/promotions is so so much more common in the west. Nicki Minaj....Doja Cat....Melanie Martinez.....Katie Perry.....and so on. It keeps their natural hair healthy while being able to try new looks!
Recently I saw male kpop idols start using temporary hair wax color. The pigment is strong enough even on black hair. I saw them going blonde and platinum easily. Works well but a tedious process to put it on everyday. But unfortunately doesn't work for female idols because you can't use wax on long hair so they have to bleach it no matter what.
@@JuMiKu I think you are right about headaches but wigs would actually cost less than thoses extensions. Because they are using long, natural and bleached extensions, a full can easily cost 1200$, a very realistic long wig is like 500 to 1000$
Probably because even good wigs can look fake at some angles. It's also a lot more socially acceptable to wear wigs in the POC communities. If their wig fell off it wouldn't be that embarrassing. But the Idols want to fool you and bee seen as *natural* . They don't want you to to know it's fake, so putting extensions under your real hair where your natural scalp shows looks much more realistic. Fans thought for YEARS that Rose's thick blonde hair was naturally that full until she removed them due to extreme damage after OTG promos.
As someone with a genetically high forehead and thin hair, this is definitely a sensitive topic for me and it’s my biggest insecurity. I used to cover my forehead with bangs since I was a child. I hate bangs because they are so high maintenance and they would get oily really quickly and break me out (I have oily, acne prone skin as well) but I always felt like I couldn’t go without them because I was so embarrassed because I look like a balding man without them. I was considering surgery but I can’t afford it and there are risks that come with surgery. So now I’m at a point in my life where I go out without bangs and just accept that my forehead is large and disproportional to the rest of my face. It still hurts every time someone points it out but there’s not much I can do about it 🥲 I’m always so envious when I see people with thick hair and normal sized foreheads but I try to remind myself that I am more than just my appearance and there is more to life than the way you look.
It sucks that it’s all some people notice, there’s a lot more to a person than one they look like. Of course I’m not innocent either, but I try my best not to judge other based solely on appearance.
I feel you -- same genetically high forehead, and really prefer how my face looks with heavy bangs but maintenance is such a bitch so I gave it up. In my family's culture you give newborn babies a nickname based on some characteristic... mine literally translates to "big forehead"... That's that lifetime trauma LMAO
i have the same thing. but no one else is as hard on ourselves as we are. most people give zero thought to the forehead size of people around them. kids can be horrible though. and people with thick hair have their own problems! i'm sure you are lovely. have a good day.
If it helps, back then it was the beauty standard to have big foreheads in Europe because it made them look more youthful, also totally off topic but I noticed you have the same name as me.
Here in Korea scalp treatment clinics, hair transplant clinics and wigs designer are more common than people think. We perm the roots for volumes, we have every type of curl perm possible (yes, the natural looking waves are often perms lol), men perm the sides of their hair to make them stay flatter and the rest of the hair for more volume/easy styling in the morning. My boyfriend and all my male friends have some sort of perm and so do most of my female friends. I guess my whole country will eventually get bald LOL
But there is also tons of hair care products and hair clinic treatments right. Also the hairdressers always look like they know what they’re doing so they could probably fix a balding person’s head. My last visit to the hair salon, I asked for a wolf cut (back when it was in style) and I came out looking like Dora no fr I wish I was joking 😭 After a week of getting hurtful fake nice reactions from colleagues, I realized I couldn’t just let it be. I watched some youtube videos and cut soft layers (even in the back) and it came out looking exactly like I wanted initially. What a hairdresser couldn’t do in an hour my untrained ass did within 20 minutes 😀 Never going back again
@@lilcomment our hair is fairly strong so they do survive perms quite well. From personal experience, hair stylists do tell you if your hair is too damaged and needs a break. I'm currently on a break after 5 years of perming because my hair got a bit too dry

for some reason, I always thought kpop idols just wore wigs. like I know their hair colour and everything changes every two weeks, but I didn't realize they were actually bleaching and dying and styling their hair and causing damage. I just assumed they had a new wig.
I honestly don't understand why they don't. Esp for music videos and concerts where no one is looking closely and its for a short time. That's how most western stars keep their real hair healthy.
@@nbucwa6621 Because they actually perform the songs in real life and do it for the concept. Sometimes it's to highlight a member so they make them have blonde hair while the others have black hair etc
@@ldive I hear what you're saying. I'll admit I'm not knowledgeable enough about the process but tbh it doesn't sound that different from black western performers. There are hair glues that keep the wig on for weeks and the wig can always be kept on whenever they are in public and only taken off when they are going to bed (some even sleep and shower in their wigs) and it can be done seamlessly enough that you can't even tell that it's a wig esp when wearing make up, which most idols always are, and esp when a person is far away, which the audience usually is during a performance. Even up close, under lights etc, a wig should blend enough to be pretty much invisible unless someone is looking right up close at your hairline. So I don't really see any reason why wigs wouldn't work rather than damaging one's hair.
@@ldive Uh, wigs can do all that and more lol The companies probably just want to be cheap, because a professional wig and its installation costs a lot, while ruining your idol's hair is much cheaper.
The main problem seems to be that so many people view others as fungible commodities until they begin to view their own bodies as fungible commodities and, shamefully, a whole industry has sprouted around it.
@@nicoledoubleyou Fungible? Fungible means that something is replaceable by another identical item. Money is a great example of fungible, so if you have a £5 note and i rip it up and give you another £5 note you are in an identical position because every £5 note is equivalent to every other £5 note. However if you have the first £5 note you ever made and i rip it up and give you another £5 note then you are not in an identical position because your £5 note was unique or non-Fungible.
@@nicoledoubleyou I assume you mean the word 'fungible'. Fungible means exchangeable for some like and equivalent. Commodities are fungible, for instance, like one peanut is just about the same as any other peanut when you are going to use multiple peanuts in making peanut butter.
as someone who lost her hair at 9 because of alopecia I'm very sensitive to any kind of baldness discussions, it really is something people make fun of on a daily basis unprovoked. I'll never get why it's acceptable to make fun of someone purely for having a receding hairline, it's horrible
@1R1S I haven't heard of him but I might check it out! I tend to avoid any types of videos discussing hair so I'll wait til I find a moment where I feel brave like I did this morning on this video 😅
As someone who survived almost being murdered 3 times when I was 9 years old, I never get why some people who lost their hair so young can't get emotionally stronger, conquer their insecurity & be inspirational to others who suffer from hair loss & even to normal people as an example, but they expect society to just change for them so that their feelings don't get hurt. Horrible things happen to ALL people & most people learn how to cope & get through it. We don't expect special treatment nor do we ask to be pitied. You lost your hair but you're still alive. I'm doing the opposite, never had long hair in my life so trying it for a change 😄 My goal is to get to belly button length so it's gonna take a while still.. But have fun trying out all the different haircuts and colors, that's the best thing about having shorter hair!
@goose of spooks I always had shoulder length hair. Then kept in long until it passed below my chest, I braided my hair when working. Then decided to cut the hair up to chin level because my hair loss was too much to handle. My crown is exposed, short hair can cover it so much better and makes me look younger.
@aeep :)) No you weirdo. Its just the irony of it. Everybody wants perfect this and that because of their insecurities. Some of the doctors aren't the beauty standard either but because they know the dangers of these procedures they won't do it to themselves even though they can
I've lost almost half of my hair from a lifesaving biological medicine. The way people treat me is so different! My friend has alopecia and got bullied for being bald but when she got money from the government (due to her illness being a disability and the wig is basically a disability aid) to buy a wig, people sent hate to her for using tax payers money for a wig.
That’s ridiculous! Bullying someone for a disability and then bullying them for using the tools that are meant for them to combat the stigma against them. I’m glad the medicine saved your life, and I hope people treat your friend better!

I have PCOS, which means that I have cysts on my ovaries messing up my hormonal system, amongst other stuff. I produce some testosterone, and the “hairy” side of it manifests itself through hirsutism on my face and hair loss on my head. I can hide the former by shaving and bleaching the “beard”, but the latter is far more difficult. I’m in a much better spot than other women with the same condition. But hearing, a couple of years ago, as a 15 years old girl, that I was losing hair much like a middle aged man would, was a pretty harsh blow to my self esteem. Man, the beard I could accept, made for a pretty cool party trick, but hair loss too?
We in the same boat. I'm actually not so bothered now by my "beard" as I am by my hairline. I shaved my hair a while back and it was honestly one of the best things I did for my self esteem. Since I discovered hair powder tho, I've been using it to fill in while I grow my hair out again and I don't hate it tbh. Not much different to wearing a wig which is just normal as a black woman.
I can totally relate to what you're saying. I don't have PCOS but for some reasons I've got more facial hair and thick body hair. I have considered shaving my face but never did that because first I am not sure about their side effects and second, it seems unfair to not accept who I am (that still doesn't mean that I like facial hair)
I have PCOS as well and have similar issues. My hair was shedding so badly that I was starting to get depressed. It would come out in clumps every time I washed it. Adding magnesium and zinc supplements plus Ovasitol to my daily regimen seems to be helping a lot. I think it’s mainly the Ovasitol. I have a normal amount of shedding now and my fullness is coming back slowly. It’s doing nothing for the hirsutism unfortunately but I don’t have that as badly as some women so I try not to complain.
I naturally have 2b/2c hair that's basically mixed between wavy with ringlets, this usually means that if I don't hydrate it properly my hair will look like a lion's mane. But the thing is, when I was a child I remember that straight hair was in on my country and on school I was sometimes picked on by other kids because to them my hair was "messy and dirty", so they would basically treat me as if I hadn't showered for months and make fun of me. Growing up I hated my natural hair texture and would do anything to try and make it straight, to the point of even hurting my scalp from brushing it too roughly. I have now given up on trying to get straight hair and just embraced my fluffy hair that I inherited from my mom, so seeing that voluminous hair is now in just keeps on reminding me that when it comes to beauty standards you can never win, damned if you do, damned if you don't
I have had the Lions Mane for many years, enjoy it while you have it. You never know where life takes you. Be proud and stand tall. I grew to love my hair in all it's glory.
Damn, growing up I always wanted the poofy curly hair that folks like my bestie are just born with. I live in a dry climate so my already dry hair becomes like straw if I'm not doing the most, but as I'm visiting family in a humid climate it's a poofed and fluffy with no effort. Wish I could replicate this back home but nah, best thing I could do for it would be chopping it off :/
Thats so sad, im so sorry you went through that…I was never bullied for my hair specifically, but i was bullied in general & i feel like my hair always looking so flat & thin & never cut very nicely could’ve contributed to that, honestly cannot put into words how insecure ive always been over my hair & ive always wished so badly that i had wavy or curly hair so i dont look so bad😢 i just learned you can get a perm to get waves & not just curls or you can perm the roots for volume in another comment!

@@digital_koala Hi, so i have been bleaching my hair for 10 years and i can say there are multiple factors that play the role. First is the sole process of bleaching. If you go from really dark hair to blond in short period of time it will damage the hair a lot. For me, the most damaging factor was heat styling. It damaged my hair more then bleaching itself. As for treating the hair i can only speak for myself, but first i stopped any kind of heat styling and let my hair dry naturally, swap from brush to comb and find the right shampoo. I have long and shiny hair ever since. For reference i am currently using the Olaplex shampoo, but i had different, less expensive shampoo's, that worked as well. Just make sure that the shampoo doesn't have any silicone in it. It will make your hair shiny but damage them in the long run. Hope that helps :)
I've done nothing to my hair yet it's still fragile and thin. However hair masking and leave in conditioner and hair oil has made it not feel like straw :D So like, progress...
i feel you! i thought it was stress, lack of nutrition and dye, but every single woman on my moms side just has thin and fine hair :,D its just unlucky genetics 🥲
Youre good, your hair is fine too. I also have fine hair and hair like ours likes moisture, leave in conditioners are the best to keep it healthy. Its just genetics at this point
I didn't know there was actual hair powder, when I wear my hair up my hairline sucks so I use a taupe eye shadow and pat that into areas that look bald lol. It works really well, I nearly forgot about it because I've had a bob for a few years now
Taupe? Sorry I'm not picking on you I was just like wtf is she saying... Ohhhh. I'm gonna do that that's such a good idea lol my hair is falling out cuz I just had a baby (In case people don't know, that's always gonna happen, cuz pregnancy hormones make it so your hair doesn't shed while pregnant, so when you have the baby, all that hair you were supposed to shed, starts shedding all at once)
I’ve used the hair powder before, it is a bit annoying since I don’t wash my hair everyday, so I never knew how to remove it. Otherwise, you just need to make sure you have baby hair surrounding it so that it doesn’t look too obvious. IMO it is not worth the trouble.
I’m 28 and I have incredibly thin hair thanks to genetics and all the medication I take for my mental illnesses. My hair is a very big insecurity for me and I use colored dry shampoo to cover up how thin my hair is and it’s a pain in the ass. It’s messy and honestly kind of expensive to keep repurchasing. I hope one day beauty standards will evolve to not focus on hair as much, but until then I’m stuck trying to hide the fact that I’m “bald” and hating the way I look.
Ohhh Ed, I've been bleaching my hair for 12 years by the roots too. The only way to keep the hair healthy and strong while you bleach like crazy is with really good (often expensive products) and a really good hairdresser. I never attempt to do it myself.

I wear a hairpiece at the top of my head all the time, the hardest part about it is that you have to do regular maintenance on it every 2 weeks so it continues to stick to your head and you have to clean it well to get rid of the glue. It also sheds as it ages so you will need to replace it every 6 months or so. The upside about it is that it was only after I started wearing the hairpiece that I started getting compliments about my appearance.

honestly i really feel for ppl who lose their hair and cant do anything about it. 2-3 years ago i was steadily losing my hair from stress, genetics and a hormone imbalance. i even lost an inch on my hairline and several inches near my temples along with extreme thinning all around. it caused me so much intense distress at the thought of losing all my hair that i would throw up regularly. but i count myself really lucky that i have been able to grow my hair back including my old receding hairline naturally. i cant imagine the pain of seeking or being unable to seek medical intervention for something that is so permanent as balding edit: heres what i did for those asking!! sorry it took 3 weeks to notice the inquires in the replies :,> I used rosemary oil treatments! It can be homemade or you can find others who make it though it can be pricey. If you do some research there's a track record of it helping improve hair growth. Make sure you massage it gently into your scalp focussing on the problem areas. Dont use too much as a little goes a long way. Depending on your hair type it can be left in overnight or only a few hours. 20 minutes before a shower where you wash your hair, take a silicone exfoliation brush to your scalp or any kind of comb that wont be too harsh on your skin. Rotate in small gentle circles all around your head. This will loosen up any dried skin that is clogging your hair follicles as well as promote growth. If you have long hair and tie it up regularly, switch to using scrunchies as opposed to regular hair elastics to prevent ripping out hair and causing tension to the scalp. Dont give up on your journey! It takes a while to notice the growth. Take pictures of your hair as it is now to look back on later to see improvements!

You can always get your hair thinned out if it bothers you. Although I will say getting my hair thinned was one of the worst things I've ever done because I keep trying to grow it out one long length without cutting it and its damn near impossible
I feel similar. My hair is really thick and frizzy that I have to have it long for the weight to pull the hair down into a semi straight look. If it is too short it is unmanageable and barely manageable when longer. I had an undercut for 4 or 5 years and it was soooooo nice. It helped a lot with the weight on my head/neck and with overall having thinner hair, but I did start growing it out because I missed a full ponytail look. If you don't mind keeping up with an undercut and how it looks it is a great option.
I have thin hair. And when im stressed, i get bald spots. Its been 2yrs since the last bald spot. I stopped coloring my hair for 7yrs already. I only shampoo my hair thrice a week. Avoided heat from curling iron as much as possible. I studied my face shape and learned how i can style my hair without using heat and chemicals. You just have to make some effort to make yourself feel confident/comfortable because no one will do it for you.
Yay you’re talking about this! It’s so true tbh. There’s such a difference and in art you often think about this as a way to proportion your characters, but it works in real life too.
Our brains are coded to be considering hair 😅 it should not affect someone's career! But we cannot choose what we find attractive 🙈 I'm a girl and I'm using minoxidil to fix my hairline just because I don't like how it naturally looks 😅 also hair fibres in spray! 😀 great stuff!
@@stay1080 My hair was always kinda there, just in a form of tiny fuzz, and when I started using the minoxidil spray, I noticed it like after little over a month as the hair was growing and looking like "regular" hair so it optically filled up the area. The ends are also just new growth and not trimmed so the onset is so natural and for me, the areas at the front filled up but were not weird and obvious, and I was so happy. The product I got also said it can take up to 4 months to notice, but my hair grows fairly fast anyway. The first week it did itch like crazy and I got a few spots, but not like any severe allergic reaction or swelling, so I kept going. To my self-image, it really does make all the difference 😊 (also helps regrow overplucked eyebrows!)
I have lupus and suffer from off and on hair loss. I recently recovered from traumatic hair loss. I was prescribed betamethasone and it worked better than anything else I ever used. I didn't use wigs or anything. I actually hate the sensation of things on my head. But I did use an umbrella and sunscreen. I felt awful for months because of what happened. When my hair started growing back I was so happy to actually part it again. It's really bad for women because society doesn't accept us with hair loss. People tend to forget that we also can lose hair.
A few years ago I started plucking my hair because of stress without even reslly thinking about it. It was just a few strands a day so I thought it wasn’t noticeable until a friend of mine took a picture of me from above on a trip, and I had a huge bald spot on the back of my head 😭 I had been blissfully unaware of it for months because no one around me dared to say anything, but damn was I embarrassed of it. Now my friends have promised to mention if a similar bald spot appears again
Mine is 3C and I chopped it off. Like that was too much work on top of the fact that it got tangled the moment its wet and i lost of a lot of hair undoing those knots.
I started watching you last night. Now. it's 09:55 UK time. You are an eye opener. The world is really a platform for amazing people, with so many plethora of unexpected behavior. I am laughing like crazy.
Im currently loosing my hair and I’m only 22 (male) and I can say that it absolutely has killed any self confidence I have j wanna cry when I look in the mirror
I have long, thick hair and still sometimes I think about shaving it all off and using a high quality wig instead so I don't have to deal with the pain in the butt of keeping it looking soft, shiny and frizz-less.
This made me think of Chenle from NCT. He is constantly showing fans his bald spots from over-bleaching, and him doing it really upsets Jisung who keeps trying to protect Chenle's image.
Isn’t he only 20 😱 SM free Chenle from his bleaching. He looks perfectly fine with black hair. But ngl, I literally imagined him in blond, pink, and green hair when he was mentioned.
This is everyone's friendly reminder that you can donate hair! I did this for the first time during December of 2022, and since then I have been growing my hair out again to try and donate it as well (with it being summer now, there's a fat chance I might just go for the shorter allowed donation amount, because this length is driving me crazy, along with taking care of it. I get really bad knots and tangling constantly, and it gets worse when it gets longer; I have to use a $30+ detangler, as it's the only thing that works for getting out those knots, and I end up using so much because of my hair's length 😭) It'll likely take a bit of searching online to find locations near you, or ones you can easily ship a baggie of your hair in to, and also to find any barbers or hair stylists that can help you, but honestly it's so worth it. You can get a nice hair cut and free up your head after growing out that much hair, and the hair that gets cut off isn't wasted, and can go to someone who would greatly benefit from it. (Here around the Great Lakes area, I donated my hair to Wigs4Kids in Michigan, if that may be useful knowledge for anyone else)
When I was a kid I had really thick almost wig like hair with no visible scalp and all that, then my hair started thinning when I was 22 and it was one of the worst experiences I had body wise I was panicking so much I spent a lot of money for different hairloss stopping procedures and taking hormonal blockers. Idk if it worked or my body just evened it out naturally bc the process stopped and I don't have any bald patches on my head only my hair is not as thick anymore. The worst part was that ppl around me (even medical professionals i went to seeking help) said I'm shallow and I should act like a man and not care about even that i would look more like a man if I shaved my head. I like having hair so it really shattered my confidence and everyone would just make me feel even worse about it.
I've been losing my hair for a while, but more than ever recently. I bought a wig that looks just like my natural hair, color and texture. When I put it on, I look 16! I am NOT 16. But yeah, everyone thinks I look younger. It's so upsetting! I'm not even 30, but my hair loss ages me D: I can't wear the wig regularly. It's too uncomfortable and hot, but I feel so much more confident with it! I just want to have healthy hair. I'm not a man, so it's especially rough and like, unexpected
i have thin ass blonde hair with balding spots and it's been such a knock to my self confidence for years, but especially this last year. I feel sick and ugly looking at my hair and i honestly feel so hopeless about it cuz hair products are expensive and it takes too much time out of the day to style it in a smart way so it doesn't look so bad. I didn't realise my hair would make me feel so horrible later in life but here we are. It's a sensitive topic for a lot of people
Wait, how is this a new thing everyone is just finding out ? Every Karen out there is poofing their hair. I feel like back-combing hair into a bigger head has been around for actual centuries🤨
We all know Chaeryong's glow up is not only about her hair. She lost so many weights, and she did a little re-touches to her face (it's not a bad thing) and of course she is growing.
i used to have very thin, frail and light hair when i was younger- strangely enough as i got older i developed full eyebrows and a huge set of hair with a naturally high cranial... (doesn't fix my face tho lol). but this whole change just occurred over time without me doing anything, i feel blessed but at the same time i have a fear that it'll just revert to how my hair used to be when i was younger one day... i hate how concerned we have to be as humans, just because of the way we look
This is the first time in my life, I look in the mirror and love my hair. I’ve got Afro texture, thick, and even though I color and perm, it’s still growing long and healthy. I used to straighten my hair with a flat iron for school, I was so embarrassed of my hair texture, I’d burst into tears if my hair got wet in public. Then natural hair became mainstream, and I learned how to style it with out heat damage. At that time I stopped perming, and it was so short, was so much work, I was constantly tired and disappointed in my results. Now I’ve figured out styling methods that work for my lifestyle and look good on me. I love my dark purple curls💜
I went from a bleach blonde blowout to my current buzz cut with multicolored faux hawk that can also be styled pixie-ish or other ways. I love rocking the hawk when running errands, I find people, especially men, way more respectful with that do. Dramatically so compared to when I style it flat.

They use extensions
Recently I saw male kpop idols start using temporary hair wax color. The pigment is strong enough even on black hair. I saw them going blonde and platinum easily. Works well but a tedious process to put it on everyday. But unfortunately doesn't work for female idols because you can't use wax on long hair so they have to bleach it no matter what.
I'm guessing because the hair is supposed to be super long. Such wigs wouldn't just be expensive but may cause headaches.
I got one hair left on my head and I still cant stop abusing it every few months

I’ve dealt with EXACTLY the same thing my entire life 🥲 used to get made fun of all the time, and sometimes still do 😭
I feel you -- same genetically high forehead, and really prefer how my face looks with heavy bangs but maintenance is such a bitch so I gave it up.
So they do not care that perming hair is bad for people??😭😭
Hopefully they tell them to not get perms regular or often💀
I don't see what is wrong with that
omg the last sentence lol!
@@lilcomment our hair is fairly strong so they do survive perms quite well. From personal experience, hair stylists do tell you if your hair is too damaged and needs a break. I'm currently on a break after 5 years of perming because my hair got a bit too dry
I've been losing hair for the last six months
Sometimes I cry in the shower
The doctor concluded It's because of stress and I don't know how to stop the stress because I am always stressed that I am losing hair
Update: School semester ended and the hair loss stopped
Second update: Over the summer a lot of new baby hairs started to grow and hair falls at a normal rate, no more than 100 strands a day
Thank you for the encouragement!
Yay good for you❤
Hope you can rest well and manage a more peaceful routine moving forward! ☺️
Don't worry! Hair loss from stress regrows about 6 months after you've recovered from stress.
Im glad you can rest! You may want to consider an anxiety medication if that starts happening again every time youre in school!
Stressing over things is not going to stop that thing from happening. Just stop, take a moment to yourself. You'll perform even better after some r&r.
for some reason, I always thought kpop idols just wore wigs. like I know their hair colour and everything changes every two weeks, but I didn't realize they were actually bleaching and dying and styling their hair and causing damage.
@@ldive Uh, wigs can do all that and more lol
The companies probably just want to be cheap, because a professional wig and its installation costs a lot, while ruining your idol's hair is much cheaper.
Because companies who manage them must have told them to do so and ofc they don't care about their members health.
The main problem seems to be that so many people view others as fungible commodities until they begin to view their own bodies as fungible commodities and, shamefully, a whole industry has sprouted around it.
What does that word even mean I've heard it in the nft sense but that's it & I just thought it meant not fake-able lmao

Wish I could replicate this back home but nah, best thing I could do for it would be chopping it off :/

My husband started balding at 14. I met him when he was 21 and thought he was about twenty years older. He actually looked younger after shaving his head because it wasn’t so obvious that he was balding: it could have been a choice.

I can confirm that ur hair changes how ur treated or perceived. i am now 29, and recently went to get a haircut, and for the first time ever i had a hairdresser who figured out that my hair was actually curly/wavy! and she knew how to handle my hair! she brought out the curls and its volume, and OMG. for the first time ever i felt so happy to see my hair so differently done! now i know how to take care of my hair, use appropriate shampoo/conditioner types that's formulated for my kind of hair. i finally feel comfortable with how it looks, even with the frizz!

As a korean going to a school where the uniform policy isn't strict when it comes to hair, 50% of the people i've seen around the school has either bleached hair or dyed it a different color. honestly i really feel for ppl who lose their hair and cant do anything about it. 2-3 years ago i was steadily losing my hair from stress, genetics and a hormone imbalance. i even lost an inch on my hairline and several inches near my temples along with extreme thinning all around. it caused me so much intense distress at the thought of losing all my hair that i would throw up regularly. but i count myself really lucky that i have been able to grow my hair back including my old receding hairline naturally. i cant imagine the pain of seeking or being unable to seek medical intervention for something that is so permanent as balding

I used rosemary oil treatments!
Can you share how you did it?

I feel similar. My hair is really thick and frizzy that I have to have it long for the weight to pull the hair down into a semi straight look. If it is too short it is unmanageable and barely manageable when longer. I had an undercut for 4 or 5 years and it was soooooo nice. It helped a lot with the weight on my head/neck and with overall having thinner hair, but I did start growing it out because I missed a full ponytail look. I get really bad knots and tangling constantly, and it gets worse when it gets longer; I have to use a $30+ detangler, as it's the only thing that works for getting out those knots, and I end up using so much because of my hair's length 😭)
It'll likely take a bit of searching online to find locations near you, or ones you can easily ship a baggie of your hair in to, and also to find any barbers or hair stylists that can help you, but honestly it's so worth it.
