I want to say that ozempic is NOT a weight loss drug, it’s a drug to help manage type 2 diabetes, weight loss is a side effect of the drug. Doctors sometimes prescribe it for off label use but the excessive rise in its usage mean diabetics who need it for important health reasons aren’t able to get access.
Side effect term can change according to what you wanna treat. Ozempic has 2 fda aproved purposes now. Obesity and diabetus but it is not something you should use under 30 bmi which none of these celebrities or people who are causing shortage have. This is a drug that have severe side effects. You can lose 6 kgs with a great diet in two weeks without even starving yourself or do sports. This is idiotic
Tbf -- this happens with a lot of drugs, it's ridiculously common in fact. Plus, being overweight is a PO precursor to diabetes and I rather see people lose weight than be inflicted with a life long condition if it could be avoided. Blame the pharma companies for not keeping up with the demand.
It isn’t a weight loss drug. It’s a freely available peptide packaged in a convenient syringe. Semaglutide is available to purchase for quite cheap online in injectable form from any peptide pharmacy.
Kids don't have small heads (proportionally). If you look at a kid, you'll notice their head is roughly 1/3 the size of their whole body. In adults, that fraction is a lot smaller. I guess non-artists don't really know this? The general rule is 1:7 for adults, 1:2 for babies, and 1:5 for chibi characters Anyways, the reason people like small faces are that the rest of your features (eyes, lips, etc.) look bigger and more balanced, and you also look taller from a distance (due to human perception of proportions)
cant we just like.. live? i feel like deleting tiktok and focusing lot on all these beauty standards etc makes you so much more happier about yourself.
That's literally what most people on this planet do. They never even hear about all this stuff. The internet bubble is crazy and the moment you stop watching it or looking into it, you'll realize just how it doesn't have any meaning and any weight in your life.
@@MaryGershwin exactly! I only use UA-cam - no social media and no television - and the only time I see things like this is when I intentionally watch videos like this one. I do occasionally see a beautiful young woman with the really unfortunate exclamation point nose contour and, more often, women with a bbl and lip filler, but mostly people look the same. And no one is walking around talking about how smaller heads are more attractive or doing tiktok dances either. It's like social media reality is a whole different planet, and I find it fascinating (and a bit disheartening) to observe. Of course, I'm 41 with homeschooled children, so I don't know how reality for kids in school these days. 😕

Timothee looks better now to me, like he is able to relax maybe 5 minutes a day and eat a carb every once in awhile now. He’s always been attractive if he’s your type, it’s crazy to think he looks “bad” now
He's very much not my type no matter what, but I hope he is healthy and any weight gain is good for him and any weight loss isn't due to pressure to look a certain way. I mean, I know that sometimes you gain weight from stress, and if that was what happened to him I feel really bad for him. If he instead gained weight due to getting to relax, eat, and sleep properly… Then go him! He did look healthier that way.
Honestly speaking, he looks healthier and that’s what important, before he looked like he lacked the nutrients his body needs, so if he is living a healthier life (even if it means to gain a little bit of weight) then good for him.
I hate the term twink death so much, it is very natural to gain weight and have changes to your body as you age. It reminds me of when people criticized Brittany for being “bigger” during her comeback. They were comparing someone in her twenties, post giving birth, to her body when she was a teenager. Yes she had gained weight, but she just looked like a 20 something year old mom, not excessively out of shape
I never knew about this fixation on "small faces" until I got into kpop. I still don't care about it because many look good with their original bigger faces (whatever race or ethnicity they are). Giselle doesn't look better or worse than before, she just looks like a different person. Seems to be a predominantly (east) asian thing.
I think the obsession with small faces and prominent features get worse with time. Because I do remember, as an Asian kid, those being the beauty standards (mostly for women; men need to have "big manly" faces) but not to the point of dangerous obsession. And it's not only in east Asia, as far as I know because East Asian's white skin, pale face, petite yet long legs and skinny frame is spreading pretty quickly to SEA. Even the speaking pattern which is kinda weird and funny.
Yeah, Giselle has changed a lot since pre-debut, she was so pretty, but I guess the company gaslit her to think that she had to shave her jaw 😢 she was beautiful, and still is. I'm not shaming plastic surgery, I'm just angry at her company who gaslit her into thinking that she wasn't beautiful already
@@ClakyNotReversed they very likely forced her to get cosmetic work done. It's in the contracts of most trainees and idols that their management company can choose and approve procedures that they would've never gotten to begin with, even in a society that is very cosmetic surgery positive. @@liz_loves_cats yeah, I think it was in the contract too. Even if it wasn't, I think that they "encouraged" her to do it. And I bet they made her feel ugly and not on the level of beauty to be an idol, which is such a sad thing that makes me so angry, honestly... Gigi is one of the many girls that are forced to have plastic surgeries and other procedures done, only because they have a dream to become K-pop idols... I wish companies didn't do this... I remember seeing a short from Dive Pods (I don't know if you're familiar with it, there is Eric Nam, Peniel from BtoB, Ashley Choi from Lady's Code, and others too, but in this one there were these 3) and basically Ashley said that during her trainee days, the instructors used to heavily criticize girls, making them feel really ugly... She said that she was insecure about her KNEES for a very long time, because the company would always criticize her knees and tell her that she should do a cosmetic procedure to her knees!!!! She didn't do it, luckily she wasn't forced to do it. But still, they gaslit her so much that she had a lot of insecurities about her appearance, and one of these was her freaking knees! It's crazy, really... We K-pop fans might have a grasp on how toxic this world can be, but we can only imagine, because it is MUCH WORSE than what we know... So many young girls are influenced by this industry, thinking that they're not beautiful, that they're not "enough" physically.... I heard that most of the girls in the country, for their 16th birthday, they receive the gift, from their parents, of doing the double eyelids plastic surgery... Unfortunately, I have not noticed any weight loss on her. (She is obese. With a very slow metabolism.) I was very hopeful when she started Ozempic that it would help her lose weight. She is very good about her sugars and diet over the last few years since diagnosis, but I have not really noticed any weight changes. I worry about my mom a lot. She has a lot of health problems aside from diabetes such as high blood pressure and she has had to have a knee replacement where faulty parts were used, it fell apart on her. She has had to have several more surgeries on her knee because of it. She refused to sue for some reason and now she has more chronic pain than before the knee replacement and it is hard for her to do a lot of exercises. Ozempic was a ray of hope, but it has honestly not really done anything to help in my mom's case.
it honestly somehow calms me down how different and „weird“ beauty standards are all over the world. when i don’t fit in an ideal, somewhere else in this world it would even matter.
I’m sorry but how are beauty standards in its peak era yet “the most attractive people in the world” whose whole brand was based on their beauty can’t escape rampant backlash after gaining weight or growing older? When will be there be a limit? My Korean mom and grandma genuinely think actress Jung Hoyeon is ugly, I was so shocked when they said it while watching the Squid Games. The amount of internalized misogyny and beauty standards, it’s heart wrenching to think about especially as a teenage girl. I just wish people would heal from this and gain some perspective because wtf are we normalizing? Everyone hates themselves and everyone else now. Admiration turns into envy, flawed comparison into external competition with the same gender. There are even phenomenons of people falsely equating beauty with morality. Why can’t we all stop? I’m already so sick and tired and I just got here. Let me be myself in fucking peace. No one is camera ready with glass skin and anime bodies 24/7- because we’re fucking humans. Accept you’re human and you’ll be free. +For context they looked at her modeling as well. It was because she wasn’t stereotypical, specific “pretty by Korean standards.” Yet she’s objectively attractive to most people. I just thought it was refreshingly mind-blowing, that’s all.
@@anonymouse9833I agree. Also, what is it with Korean culture and being so obsessed with looks? It's horrible and so shallow. The US isn't much better though.
I think you are overthinking. Hoyeon did not look great in the Squid Game - rarely smiled, hair was always sort of messy, wore that damn tracksuit for the most part. I do think she looks a lot better in real life without the ‘disheveled’ look in the Netflix series. And while I do think Korea’s idea of beauty hurts us, but why does the ‘improvement’ have to always be finding so and so celeb attractive?

But also your mom sucks, she clearly had issues that she never should have put on you, an innocent child. Hope you're doing better.
It's nothing new that we prioritize complacent fat people over people with real issues.
It isn’t a weight loss drug. It’s a freely available peptide packaged in a convenient syringe. Semaglutide is available to purchase for quite cheap online in injectable form from any peptide pharmacy.
Prioritizing complacent fatsos over people with real issues is nothing new tbh
Its kinda scary that looking like a kid is good
Kids don't have small heads (proportionally). If you look at a kid, you'll notice their head is roughly 1/3 the size of their whole body. In adults, that fraction is a lot smaller. I guess non-artists don't really know this? The general rule is 1:7 for adults, 1:2 for babies, and 1:5 for chibi characters
Anyways, the reason people like small faces are that the rest of your features (eyes, lips, etc.) look bigger and more balanced, and you also look taller from a distance (due to human perception of proportions)

He did look healthier that way.
same cus as an adult woman i’m not attracted to teen boys lol. now that timothee is maturing visually, he’s getting more attractive to me
Honestly speaking, he looks healthier and that’s what important, before he looked like he lacked the nutrients his body needs, so if he is living a healthier life (even if it means to gain a little bit of weight) then good for him.
even as a teen girl he still looks attractive with the “extra” weight (normal amount)
I agree because he looks more grown up and less 'pretty boy' to me.
“A skinnier, evil twin version of themselves from an alternate timeline.” 😂😂😂
I'm not shaming plastic surgery, I'm just angry at her company who gaslit her into thinking that she wasn't beautiful already
kpop introduced me to a whole bunch of insane beauty standards, and this is coming from a previous tumblr girl
@@ClakyNotReversed they very likely forced her to get cosmetic work done. It's in the contracts of most trainees and idols that their management company can choose and approve procedures that they would've never gotten to begin with, even in a society that is very cosmetic surgery positive. Most idols you see who have had work done very likely had to 'just go with' their whole perception of themselves being altered
I heard that most of the girls in the country, for their 16th birthday, they receive the gift, from their parents, of doing the double eyelids plastic surgery...

just a heads up: the big eyes, small face and etc basically the baby face has a term and its neonteny. Its super interesting in biology and one of the reasons we love things like dogs and kittens
Is it small face or small head as he says in the video though? As puppies and kittens or babies etc they don't really have a small head in ratio to their size in whole
Except proportion of head to body size....babies heads are HUGE. They aren't that much smaller than an adults head yet their body is 1/20th the size.

OMG I literally got an ad for Ozempic on THIS video! No way!
My mom is a type 2 diabetic and has been on Ozempic to help control it for quite some time.

Thinking Jung Hoyeon is ugly sounds like actual jealousy. She's objectively gorgeous. We all need to embrace our humanity.

40 pounds down on GLP-1s following a hyper-optimized diet and exercise plan - absolutely zero regrets!
I started semaglutide back in December, and I've lost over 35 lbs.
I did it because I have an extremely strong family history of diabetes, on both sides of the family. My aunt had a heart attack last year (she's fine now) that was caused by the damage from diabetes. People in my family tend to get diagnosed around their mid-40s, and I'm approaching my mid-30s currently.
I figure that losing the weight now will help me kick that diagnosis can down the road. I would like to at least see age 50 before being diagnosed.

Having a naturally delicate jaw can give you health problems, too - your teeth end up getting seriously overcrowded.
As someone who has a tiny mouth and normal sized teeth (basically quoting my orthodontist), I have had to have quite a few teeth removed due to crowding, and needed braces because all my teeth were on top of each other. 0/10 do not recommend, but all the years of dental treatment has helped me get over my fear of dentists so
@@rosehipowlI'm curious when this happened as I thought orthodontics were moving away from adult teeth removal and more towards palate expansion. Have you had any sinus or breathing problems since the orthodontic work?
@@phantomkate6 A bit over a decade ago, I was in my late teens. I had sinus issues prior to the dental work, it's not done anything to me beyond make more room in my mouth! The only side effect was one gap getting infected, but that was sorted quickly. I'm in the UK, so I think the ideas may be different between here and America. I was supposed to have some of this done when I was younger but I was so afraid of dentists that just getting me there once a year was good enough, so when my free dental work was running out as I was going to turn 18, my dentist very highly recommended that I get braces and teeth removed and basically take advantage of the remaining free visits I had.
Yeah I have this issue. My teeth are crowded causing migraines, jaw issues, really bad overbite because my tongue is long af but tiny mouth so it default wants to push against my teeth.
