To my mind simply the best to read, listen to and watch such an engaging way of explaining things in such simple ways, greatly missed thanks for posting
@@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop6455 I very much appreciate the update. Never met the man but his work has had an impact on my hifi and music discovery journey which is obviously a big part of my life.
The Schopper/Swissonor non magnetic platter for the TD124 is a large sonic upgrade over the original iron platter. I didn't believe it could before i got it.The thorens' platter is quite a lot heavier than the 301's also. I believe an upgrade platter is available for the 301 also. As are main bearings for both machines. The td124 clutch really is useful when playing 45s and 78s. Sad Art is gone. Nice recollection of him.
R.I.P., Art Dudley… Hi Ken.. I believe you have (one of?) Art’s TD-124.. Correct me if I am wrong, but I notice that the thin aluminum top platter is warped somewhat on yours.. There is a modern day replacement by Retrotone in the UK, it’s kinda pricey though.. You can still safe-keep your original top platter, since it has a deeper value than most other audio gear you own I would surmise..
Every time I watch a video with Art in it, it puts a smile on my face and a heaviness in my heart. R. I. P.
Really miss reading Art’s articles and still have some Listener magazines. He was amazing.
Every now and then, I keep coming back to these videos.
Art had a way to make hifi very approachable to a simpleton like me.
RIP
Love this. Miss Art. Thanks, Ken.
Art was the best. I so miss him. Ken, thanks for showing this.

Love his dry and down to earth approach to audio, really sad he’s gone.
I just took my LP 12 out of storage after nearly a decade ….and just spun it up 😆
Seems to have survived…and getting the vinyl back out.
Great video 👍
Lovely to see Art Dudley again 😊
My all time favourite reviewer/person. Miss you. A lot.
Man he put on a brave face, can’t imagine what was going through his mind.
Bless his soul. 🙏🫡
Listener was the only magazine I anticipated delivery and devoured thoroughly since I was kid.
Lovely video from a very down-to-earth man.
Awe ole Art, the best!
Good stuff from Art, RIP!
Here's a bunny! Loved his Listener magazine, and glad he landed with Stereophile.
0:04 I really miss Art and feel connected to him in many ways. Even my TD 124/I had the same green colour. Art was cool.
Miss him - this is bittersweet
Never seen a green turntable before.🙂 You are not forgotten, sir...
I still miss his dry humor. Maybe my favorite audio writer.
Greatest audio writer of all time. He humanized it, made it an every man hobby again, while writing with beautiful clarity and grace.
He was special. Damn.
Man this was hard to watch again. I hope his family is coping well.
His daughter is in her third year of college I believe. His wife moved out to the West Coast to take care of her father.

I met the family at the Montreal audio show in 1997. His daughter was a babe-in-arms. Art hated driving in Quebec. Can’t blame him.
