Glad to hear this. Hopefully on Wednesday I'll receive my 1st printer which is a mars 2 pro and the mercury wash station. Really can't wait. Enjoyed your vids so far 👍
I just got my Mars 2 Pro and Mercury Plus. Mars 2 Pro worked right out of the box first try. Amazingly simple to set up. And the wash/cure station where you can just dunk your whole build plate makes what is the most annoying part of the process quite bearable. Build quality on both are fantastic.
2.0 is a big improvement over the original. No need to have the yellow cover in place for the wash cycle, and the basket now has internal support for the build plate, so no need for the separate bracket
Great video! Very helpful. That bracket you're holding at 03:37, does that definitely come with the Mercury? I can't seem to find it in my packaging and was hoping I'd be able to use it!
Good video Greedy, your opinion is very honest and I like that. I think once I get a printer I’ll get this station with it off the back of this video. Keep up the good vids 😁
I just bought one but mine is not coming with that metal thing to hold the parts.. and the basket is different.. also my disc for curing is not transparent
Hey there! I recently bought the Elegoo Mars 2 mono, specifically because of the review you gave it. What I was wondering for the washing/curing process is, how do you effectively dispose of the water/alcohol that you wash the resin in? I know you can’t, or shouldnt, just dump it outside since it’s a “toxic chemical”
DO NOT throw away the waste water without post processing. 1) Cure the resin contaminated waste water with an UV Lamp or Sunlight. 2) Filter the solid resin particles out of the waste water and dispose with the rest of your resin.. Supports etc 3) once the water is purged I pour it away at the bottom of the garden
I’m going to try to only use water washable resin, for 2 reasons, 1. The alcohol, in the quantity, I would need would be extremely hard to find given the pandemic (which I think you mentioned in your review of the Elegoo Mars 2 Mono) And 2. Now knowing that there is the post processing it would make disposing of the waste 100x easier
As long as you clean properly and add drain holes and cure inside ice had no probs.. My early prints that I didn't do that on split... My failure not the resins 👍
@@greedy3d480 i purchased the wash station, but now my next question is, the wash tank is getting a build up of resin attached to it, what way do you clean that from the tank
How easy or difficult is it to clean the wash tub afterward? I feel like I always have a good bit of resin sludge at the bottom of the hand-wash bucket that I'm using (just getting started with printing). IPA-cleaned resins seem to have more sludge than the water-washable, but there is still some. Any feedback on that after using it for a while?
Yes to be honest mind gets a little bit sludgy to even with the water washable I just take the plastic scraper every so often and spend 10-15 minutes giving it a bit of a scrape and clean that's all it takes really. Personally I don't have too much problem with a bit of sludge in there it's still does the job ok hope that helped
Hi there, I recently got the same Mars 2 and Mercury setup with the Elegoo water washable resin and was wondering how long you generally wash and cure parts? I just tried 6 minutes of washing in water and although this seems sufficient for parts, the build plate never really cleans fully in the Mercury. Also discovered that the parts really have to be bone dry if you want to avoid the white haze/residue on prints after curing.
I give them about 4 minutes then brush the build plate top with a toothbrush then another minute or two. Pop the print off, and wipe with kitchen roll and it's done. I will then either wipe the parts with kitchen roll, leave to dry or use a hairdryer pre curing
this one or the X one not sure which to go for do u just print the model and then put it straight in this ? Nova3d resin or the one your using is what thinking
@@greedy3d480 Thanks for the reply, got another Q. I expect to use the wash in water resin and I've just read that this is not suitable and items should be washed in running water, is this still useful or would another be a better purchase?
Personally I have only ever used water washable with my Wash and Go station and have never had any issues there is a suggestion that over time the water will affect the fan at the bottom and Rust it but I'm aware that is replaceable the general rule also is you can't clean it under running water and then put the water down the drain it needs to be treated as in UV light filtered. I've seen quite a few people on UA-cam wash their products under the tap and all of that resin then gets into the water system which is not recommended as it is toxic so responsible printer would not do this. Again I guess I can only speak from my experience I have never had a problem and it has served me well with water washable only

Thanks for the kind comment.... Have fun with your new toys 😁👍
Since I started using mine it has been a great tool and helps me keeping the post processing as clean as possible. Great video!

Thanks for the kind words... I'd be lost without it now.... 😉👍

Ah that's a shame 😕 the metal bracket is useful

Thank you SO much!!! No one I’ve talked to has mentioned post processing so I didn’t even know it was an option
Your welcome :) if it's ipa Allow ipa to evaporate or contact your local refuse Centre to safely dispose ...

I agree... It's all I use to be honest and easier to clean etc.... Enjoy
What is that plastic thing that you use under your printer and cleaning station called?
Not sure... It's just like a plastic matting... Bought from B&M
Very informative, thank you!
Glad you liked it thank you for the comment 👍
If your using water washable is this still a worthwhile purchase? Hearing different opinion s
As long as you clean properly and add drain holes and cure inside ice had no probs.. My early prints that I didn't do that on split... My failure not the resins 👍
I spent $1200 on my form cure and form wash. $100, that's all! That's nuts.
It's great value 👍
i saw a note that it's not quite effective using water and water washable resin. It kind of scared me a bit. Any issues on your end?
I've had zero problems using water washable 👍
have you had any problems with the wash station use water in it, any bearings or parts affected from using water
Not experienced any issues tbh
@@greedy3d480 do you leave the water in the wash station or remove it after each wash and cure it in the sun
Not after each wash.. When it gets very dirty once a week or so
@@greedy3d480 i purchased the wash station, but now my next question is, the wash tank is getting a build up of resin attached to it, what way do you clean that from the tank
I just scrape it off with a knife... Bit labourious but does the job

@@greedy3d480 Using a old toothbrush is a great idea actually, thanks for the tip and information! I'm very pleased so far with the wongas I spend ;)
Fab 🤣🤣
is this the V1 or V2 one you have just looked and there is 2 plus models ,
Ooo not sure doesn't say on it
Hi, can i use for elegoo mars 3?
Sorry not sure
this one or the X one not sure which to go for do u just print the model and then put it straight in this ? Nova3d resin or the one your using is what thinking
Yeah literally straight off the printer into the wash station
Thank you
Glad you liked the vid 👍
Does. The saturns plate fit in this?
Might Google says And with a wide mouth, the Mercury X bundle's water tank can fit even the massive Elegoo Saturn's build plate inside
