Original Song:
• Five Finger Death Punc... - Розваги
Thank you for watching this video. I'm a Marine combat veteran I lost 2 brothers while I was in and 3 to their own hands after we got out. #22 a day is a number that haunts me. We had a saying in the Marines "freedom isn't free but don't worry the Marines will pay your share" all we ask of our civilians is that they vote people in that won't send us to stupid wars. We live by a warriors code " stand behind me and I will protect you, stand beside me and I will respect you, stand against us and we will show you no mercy. We Marines know what we do means we proably won't make it to heaven so we would all say we will meet and drink a horn in Valhalla. Semper Fi to all my warrior brothers and sisters out there until we meet in Valhalla. NEVER FORGOTTEN USMC
I am Army combat Veteran. Glad, you made it brother!
Semper Fi Brother
Semper Fi brother.
Thanks for your service mate
Semper Fi Brother! I love each and every one of you. Remember that! We swore an oath to support and defend. We can’t do that with you not here!
I'm a 63 y.o. disabled Cold War veteran. This song hits deep and hard. I sob every time I watch it. I pray for my brothers and sisters every day. If it wasn't for my wife, I KNOW that I would be on the streets or dead. Zero doubt of that. Thank you, wife. You are the REAL hero of my story, baby! I love you.
I'm a bit older and been married 43 years. I told her what I could about my past and warned her my future might be rough but she is still by my side. That is love and you are so very right.
Have you ever seen Rise Against - Hero Of War?
As a wounded combat vet. I would like to say THANK YOU for keeping the message out there.
Thank you for your service, Damon.
From one wounded vet to another, thank you for your service brother! And I agree with what he said!
Thank you so much for your service Damon.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice
No, Thank YOU brother!
Thank you for doing this reaction. 60 years old and still brings tears to my eyes.
🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥
They are VERY strong supporters of the military. But, they are also very much against bullying. Check out the song "Lift Me Up" that they did with Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Very different feel from this one, but it is very inspiring, while being very in your face. Absolute banger while meaning something to people who are being bullied, held down, etc.
I concur
As a former active duty Marine. Thank you for keeping this song / video alive. Thank you for the tears you shed for my brothers and sister that have died. That meant more to me then other words. Them being remembered are all most vets want is to be remembered. Not as heroes. Not as idols, just remembered for what they did. So, on those that can't answer, thank you.
Thank you for your service.
As a vet who spent a bit of time homeless, and who has lost brothers who took their own lives, this video always kills me.
thank you for your service... that is not said without truthful meaning. You did what I did not do. I am honored to live in the country that you and your brothers served. My two best friends are vets who did the time.
Dude, you joined the army (signed a contract) of your own free will. You could have gone to a normal job like the others (warehouse, salesman, policeman, fireman, etc.). You chose to shoot and be shot at and now you're talking nonsense about how it was hard, bad and even BOOM! You made your choice, live with the consequences (action - reaction). Or maybe you should stop feeling sorry for yourself, how you made your bed is how you sleep now.
@@marcinjakistam4938 so many incorrect assumptions in your comment, but I'll start with the most egregiously wrong. I am not and never was associated with the army. I've had regular cushy civilian jobs both before and after my time in the service. I don't regret my time in, for the most part I enjoyed it, even the shitty parts. It's people like you that contribute to the deaths of my brothers. It is shameful the way that so many of those served treat those that serve them.
@@marcinjakistam4938don’t be a jerk!
Marine here and homeless brother. I'm glad you got out,
As a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan your viewpoint is pretty much spot on I think. I was homeless for almost a year. The VA helped me at that time. I'm also part of the stop soldier suicide program. I've been in that mindset. I've lost brothers after coming home, and a few overseas. This song always hits home. Also look up gone away by Five Finger Death Punch. That one is very emotional.
Thank you for your service, Daniel. Glad you made it back and hope you can continue healing.
Brother, thank you so much for your work with the Stop Soldier Suicide Program... God bless and stay strong
Makes me tear everytime, I was actually on my second year in Iraq when they came out in 05 ( terms '03, 05, 07). Thanks for watching.
This song hits hard every time I hear it. Brings tears to my eyes. Their version of bad company made me listen to more of their songs and then I found this. I buy all their albums now and went to see them when they came to Scotland. Thank you to all who have served or still serving and thank you ffdp for doing more than government to help veterans. I'm disgusted by the way they are thrown aside when they leave or unable to continue fighting. You are all heroes in my eyes. Thank you
Those figures were true when the video was made. Today's numbers are way higher.
5FDP are big military supporters, check out the video for their cover of Bad Company by Bad Company.
Oh Rosalie you went from one heavy song to another, its heartbreaking to see these numbers of homelessness amongst veterans. I'm from UK as you know I don't care where your from we have to take care of our own. I've never seen anything so heartfelt in a video I've watched this over 50 times and cried as many. Great review Rosalie.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Paul. Agreed. It is very sad
"This might be perfect after an emotional video" I can't watch this video without crying. I knew what you were in for. Thank you.
You would have to be soulless in order for this song to not make you cry
FFDP is a fantastic group, ivan and everyone else involved are wonderful people.. they go above and beyond for the vets in all they do... its a main theme of how that band uses their influence in this world. its beautiful to me.. just as you are rosalie and all of you who read this as well! #KeepGoing #LoveOverEverything
This is a great song that brings awareness to what happens to some of our veterans when they come back from service, but also how they get treated. I would like to say Thank you to all our service men and women around the world and our veterans here at home. Thank you for keeping us all safe. 🤟🙏
As an army veteran let me say thank you for reacting to this video. Great reaction. Please consider reacting to their video Gone Away, also military related. This video was made in 2014 and all those numbers have increased. The suicide have gone from 12 per day to 22 per day. Thanks again and God Bless.
Thank you for your service, Daniel. God bless you too.
Five Finger Death Punch does a lot of veteran based stuff. You should continue looking into everything before the last 2 albums.
This seriously hits home for me HARD
🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥
@@Tessimistic420 as a 10yr Army Vet, thank u
From a 22 year Navy veteran, Thank you for doing this video.
Thank you for your service!!
@@steamer66 thank you for ur service brother
I have heard that song many many times but have never seen the video. That was emotional for me. Thank you for this reaction
I only listen to this song on the rare occasion as every time I do it brings tears to my eyes.
This is very emotional video. They have few of these actually. Thx for this reaction and Happy Year 2023 from Finland.
🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥
As a deployed grunt veteran thanks for doing this video. All gave some. Some gave all.
Powerful vocals for a powerful message.
I am a combat veteran ( Vietnam ) you can not possibly know the good you have just done. Thank you for this and God bless you
Thanks Rosalie. Again, great reaction and comments!
Total respect to 5FDP, I really appreciate your passion for the Military.
I served for 22 years in the British Army and have deployed to some hostile locations, Iraq and Afghanistan being two, its fair to say I'm proud to have served however feel let down by our Government when my time in uniform came to an end.
No support, no after care nothing, just a brief thank you and a closed door.
This track like so many from 5FDP hits hard, a very strong emotional hard hitting watch.
Music and lyrics brought the punch. Video just added the icing. Vocals also good.
Happy new year lady! Loved the NF reaction and now ffdp! Stay blessed!
Thank you, I’m a peace time vet, my wife was a 100 % disabled vet from the 101st airborne, who is one of the 22 vets a DAY that commit suicide, the pain never leaves
Great reaction! Good lord you talk fast, yet clearly! Very impressive! x)
Thank you 5FDP for pushing this to the forefront in with the creation and release of this great song. Thank you Rosalie for bringing this to light again. This song is sooo good to the point it hurts so much. Every time I watch it, my soul and warrior spirit bleeds.
As a Veteran that has had his body broken by the Army and has to endure the VA, Government, and People abusing, exploiting and shaming us, words cannot come even close to being able to express the pain and trauma. Due to luck, bad and good, cause it is both, I was not able to deploy due to the injuries so I dont have to endure the additional mental anguish that most do from Combat. I deal with varying levels of pain, was almost homeless multiple times, and still cannot get medicine to help tolerate the pain when it spikes. I say all this as there are days and weeks that I barely hang on without that extra pain so I cannot even fathom how my Brothers and Sisters that are hurting from Combat and possibly disabilities are enduring. Too many of us can no longer endure or just give in for a fraction of a moment... all to a tragic end. If you see this comment and are not a Veteran but are able to, please Pay it forward for their service to protect you and help them anyway you can. If you are a Veteran, keep helping your Brothers and Sisters as you can. If you are a GOV official, help pull heads out of dark caves and try to get something in place to help and if you dont, you are just a tumor causing helping to cause the issue or numb those around it. To many lives have been lost from doing nothing.
Thank you for your service and for taking the time to share your experience and encouragement for those reading.
As a Veteran myself I always appreciate the love this band has always shown to service members. You should check out something a little heavier from them next "Wash It All Away"
As a retired military man with 9 deployments in 22 years... all I can say is Thank You for sharing this!!!
Do you wanna know how alot of us military men feel... what we live with...
React to their "Gone Away" video!
(PLEASE... Do So!!! Needs to be shared!)
Then...
Imagine living with that!
Thank you for your reaction, FFDP is an amazing band and very pro military because the lead singer Ivan Moodey is a former Army Marine himself so he knows the struggles they go through after coming back. They also donate a lot of their proceeds to these military aid organizations. You should check out Coming Down and Gone Away from them too, also very deep songs
One other thing I wanted to say was that my cousin served in the army and did 2 tours in Iraq and when he came home there was no thanks at all from strangers just from the family and he went off the deep end because of ptsd. He had to move 1000 miles away from the family just to try to cope with what he went through. I love him he's older than me by 5 years and I can't thank him enough for his service.
ALWAYS THANK A VETERAN!!
as always great reaction this one holds a special place in my heart as a Vet myself this one hits hard and close to home. I have like this one since it came out it is an important video as well tough to watch but very much needed the message is too important to ignore .as always your ride or die forever thanks for todays ride. EyyyyOoooo
Thank you for your service, Willey.
Thank you for posting. It is so important and I'm grateful you reacted.
I was in Service 18 years, injured in Iraq and the song is very real to me. Thanks for spreading the word. If Wrong side of Heaven pulls on your heart strings then I say you should give "Gone Away" buy Five Finger Death Punch a listen. Also I know you did Home Free cover of Brothers in arms but the original by Dire Straits is very powerful and worth a listen too.
Thank you for your service, Donald.
As a former Marine i would like to say that the true heros are buried in Arlington the men and women who gave everything to fight for the freedom of others and to all my brothers though you may be gone you will never be forgotten Semper Fi
And to all my living brothers may we meet our brothers once more on the other side
"You saved my life, brother". Hits right in the feels, every time
Makes me cry every time I watch this video. I agree, for whatever reason you join to serve, soldiers should be taken cared of, after they come back....if they come back.
I met the original version of this band many years ago at a local venue in New York where I live and they were such amazing dudes they had a drink with me and talked for a while about music with me. I never heard them before this day and they were still opening for a band called nonpoint and had not barely scratched the surface of fame they have now. It was an incredible show and I became I die hard fan for life. It's great to see that they are still reaching new audiences because they have done so much that nobody knows about and they deserve respect 🙏 you earned my subscription today with this. Keep up the great work!!!!
Cry every time I watch this. Miss so many of my brothers.
You hit the nail right on the head regarding "human/sex trafficking." The level of care on the issue is appalling.
I worked in the exploited division of Team Hope for years. Part of The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children. And this nation is overwhelmed with sex trafficking. What people need to learn is these traffickers are professional brainwashes who can flip human minds to believe just about anything. They are truly evil.
@@lawrencesmallacombe5089 It is but when we rescue a personal and reunite them with their mom or dad or family. Then tears of joy are well worth it.
Hello, I'm currently Active Duty Army and have had the pleasure to serve my country for 17 years so far. This song hits hard because I have love 13 Soldiers during my time. 6 to combat and 7 to suicide. I have been in some dark places myself. I had to take a knee and get my mind right and learn to love myself again though therapy.
If you are struggling, please reach out and get the help you need. Life is much more beautiful with you here with us.
With much love,
Your fellow service member
I have seen this video so many times and it gets me every time. I’m so glad that you are able to make people aware of the content and how important it is.
There are so many 5fdp songs that I can recommend to you, battle born and house of the rising sun are 2 of my favourites that I think you would love.
Thank you for being one of the few people to react to this video ❤
As a soldier of the US Army from 1996-2018 I have never seen another song and/or video that captures my experience as much as this one does. I also fully agree that many of the wars we've fought were, at best, misplaced. At worse completely misguided. I wish my life had been better spent.
Thank you for your service. I hope you know your life matters. Even if you feel it could have been better spent. It is not too late to live to the fullest. Here and now. I’m honored you watched the video and shared your experiences. glad to have you part of the community
Yes! Love these guys. Love this song. Makes me think of my brother every time I hear it. He did two tours in Afghanistan, even though he made it, I still tell him to this day, he lost part of himself over there. Such an important message to this song
Thank you USA. Greetings from Finland. True bro (y)
It breaks my heart everytime I hear this video man it’s so true I traveled around the United States I saw homeless veterans
Dude says in the end. You saved my life, brother.
Thank you for bringing more light to this subject. I’m fortunate to not be homeless but know the mental struggles. Many of my brothers and sisters in arm’s never make it back even if they do come home.
As a Marine Corps veteran I've seen the ugly side of war. I've buried brothers killed in the barracks bombing in Beriut in 1983, one that I had served with a few years earlier.
My father served in Vietnam, at 18 years in service, during Tet '67-'68.
I have served with dozens of Vietnam veterans, and a Korean war vet whose 19 year old brother died in Vietnam and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions, who were treated like shit when they came home.
To this day when I see someone wearing a veteran hat, from any war ir branch, I shake their hand and welcome them home.
When you get out of the suck; they debrief you on what you can talk about and what you can't; the shit you can't talk about is the very shit that needs to be talked about. Once a Marine always a Marine; you're never truly out of the suck. Semper Fi 🙏🏻🇺🇸✝️
5FDP. One of my favourite bands ever.
Excellent reaction they sure know how to get a message out.
This is the world. I was already fed-up when I saw the reality. As I grown up.
The look on the cops face when he saw the same tattoo, tho... Damn.
as a combat vet suffering from PTSD i love this song and video, but it makes me cry because of the pain it bring back into my mind. thank you for your reaction to this video
That’s understandable :( I hope you can experience peace and comfort today.
@@rosalieelliottofficial im sure you know what zen is. maybe not knowing what bushido is. what i follow is zen bushido. i call it peace of the warrior.
Beautiful reaction and analysis, I love your reverence for life and sacrifice, thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are correct, PTSD aint a joke, I remember seeing my dad take cover when there was unexpected gun shots in a show or movie and forget fireworks.
Outstanding segment 💥🥁🪖🔥
This video hit me so much more when I realised the people you see on the streets are the veterans that were fighting. Especially at the end when the black guy in the suit tells the white homeless guy "you saved my life brother". He knew him. Even though he was unkempt, he knew that was his brother! So sad though with how high those stats are. They shouldn't even exist let alone be that high. This was the first song and video I ever experienced of ffdp and now I'm one of their biggest fans!
I consider myself very lucky. I was drafted in 1966. 3 months out of high school. Within 6 months,I was knee deep in swamp in Vietnam. Saw a lot of shit but I was able too leave it over there for some reason.
This song always gets to me. I think back to my Navy days and all the great people I served with. To think that some of those people may be homeless now is heartbreaking.
I type this with tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for giving us credit. For making sure people know. I dont ask for anything. Nor do I deserve anything. I am Combat Veteran. I have served and I am proud to have been chosen to serve. No one can take that away from me.
Thanks for this.. from an old Marine.
Rosalie, first of all, have a good and fine 2023!
Always like your comments, very fitting to the music and the vocals.
This is a very emotional song for many people, even those who didn't serve their country.
I have been in the military in The Netherlands and worked as a psychiatric nurse there.
That time there was a big conflict in the Lebanon and I've seen some young guys (serving as a Blue Helmet) as we called them. Coming back from service, completely broken and needed treatment for PTSD.
This song however gives me tears every time I hear it, but also angers me very much.
How in effing world is it possible the government of a country, so rich and strong and supposedly advanced as the USA, is capable to let them guys rot and do nothing to help them.
It sometimes seems as if they (governmental nono's) don't care what is to become of the poor guys, while they sent them to conflict areas.
Shame, massive shame on those who just look away as if nothing is wrong.
By the way, it's special that God is referred as a she and the devil as a he.
Greeting from The Netherlands.
I agree. Very sad indeed.
I noticed the “she” reference and forgot to comment on it but found it interesting too.
Oh we are hideously advanced in military tech, the reason why more isn’t done, os the cost of advancement and technology and remaining the sole super power. So no one can oppose us, militarily. That’s why, we spend as is $700- a bit more, billion dollars a year on defense/military. Most goes to base maintenance, maintenance of current equipment and R&D, getting new stuff, like the B-21 raider, etc, and things you never dreamed of. Is that always right? Not at all, but is how it goes. How you stay on top. Former cog here in the machine. USMC vet, 2005-2010. Iraq twice. Helmand province in Afghanistan once, can be. Was messed up at times, discounting the rest as a whole. It’s the price of being on top, sure I got some problems, but have paid and would pay the price again, if needed.
This was really difficult to watch, but thank you Rosalie. I grew up as an Air Force brat, joined and served in the early 80s, so the military is a huge part of me. I was aware of the difficulties that veterans are faced with, but having the numbers in your face was really disturbing. I have always thought that if you put your life on the line for your country...your country owes you for life. A veteran should never be hungry, never lack shelter, never lack physical or mental care. To those veterans who saw combat, I know I will never really understand what you went through, but you really are heroes and deserve so much more. To the friends and families of those who didn't return or were lost due to the struggle after returning, the best i can do is say I am sorry and thank you for your sacrifices. I know it is not enough, but I hope is helpful in some small way.
@Rosalie Elliot I love your channel and thank you for having the courage to react to this and draw attention. Thank you!!
I realize my comments are not really about the music, but I felt that I needed to speak up about the bigger picture.
Thank you for your comment and kind words.

Unfortunately this is an worldwide issue, it’s very wrong that people who have put their lives on the line are not looked after when it’s needed. My father was one such person, he served in the Navy in WW2 onboard a Destroyer that went into engagement with a well known German battleship. He was retired out due to an injury to his legs from shrapnel and was basically left in poverty with no proper support. It was just unfair that people who this happens to don’t get proper help then!
Sorry for a bit of a rant but it had a huge effect on my life, I ended up being brought up by my grandparents because they had me and couldn’t afford to keep me!
It was a great track that I hadn’t heard and you reaction was first class 🤗🤗🤗
Don't be sorry. Thank you for taking the time to comment and share. I am very sorry to hear that :(
This will always be one of my favorite songs. But the video needs the most attention. Every time I even hear this song I cry because vets just get thrown away. I’m sorry but thank you for this.
There is one organization that needs attention to called The Till Valhalla project.
This band also does a cover of an Offspring song "Gone Away" which deals with veterans and survivor's guilt. Survivor's guilt is that often unspoken cause for Veterans on the streets as well as many in our Healthcare system that dealt with the deaths from the epidemic.
Thank you for reacting to this video. I wish everyone in the world could see this video. It is so powerful and so important. Wonderful reaction to it. Without getting political, you shared just a few of the many different problems connected with just this issue. The problem is that the people who can make a massive difference cling to one viewpoint, of one of the issues, and uses it to gain power, not to truly help the situation and solve the problem.
Notice, the opening lyrics are speaking of the duality in every being, the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine.
Goosebumps every dang time.......
Gets me every-time I hear this
Thank you Rosalie for reacting to this video. I hope it brings the plight of veterans to everyone. I have and will always believe nowhere near enough is being done for veterans. God bless them.
TRUTH!
First time watcher, enjoyed listening to your commentary, pretty accurate which was pleasant to hear. A good example of one country being peaceful is Tibet, which is still under Chinese control. The Dalai Lama has never seen home since the age of 15. Like you said, it is unfortunate, but a very needed thing... the military.
I cry everytime I see this. My wife never gives up. That's the only reaso I have survived the war within afterwards
You should check out Coming Down by these guys. This band goes way beyond music. Thier music is a platform for LIFE. They get it and use music to express it
Please do Gone Away from them! As a military man with 9 deployments it hits me Hard every Time!!!
Thank you for this!!!!
Hands down my favorite music video…. Wrecks me everytime
Love the shirt!!!!
Oh Lord, just watched a very emotional video and now watching this.
First time here and glad to see so much support for veterans! FFDP is a great band with loads of message in their music, so definitely keep listening!
Having looked through some of your previous reactions, most notable NF and Tom MacDonald, and you are trying to branch out more with Metal music, I would suggest giving Falling in Reverse a listen to. Do Zombified first and then Popular Monster for a good introductory to the band that has quite literally changed my music outlook within the last year!
I will be searching through your reactions to see what else you have going on in here, but based off of this reaction, I’d say keep it up!
welcome and thank you! :) All about world music here so you will find lots of variety (i hope!) :) and special music and artists from around the world, as well as wonderful, educated and kind people. Welcome to the Ride!
Another melodic type of metal band to check out would be Unleash The Archers! They're a fantastic band with a female singer who has a crazy range, able to belt high notes, and they even sound great live. Their albums tell a story as a whole, if you dive deep into their albums. She (the singer) and the drummer just had a baby and the band is recording for the newest album. They also play DnD together haha
I come from a long line of service, though I didn't serve myself, I can't watch this video without getting choked up
As a disabled Vet this song gets me emotional everytime.
Thank you posting this video; another reccomendation is "I'm a Patriot" from Iraq Unplugged.
Thank you for using your platform to honor those that put country above all. They deserve better
As a combat Veteran. Having 3 of my brothers fall to combat and 7 when we got home. Its difficult a lot of days for me. I have a hard time just opening up and talking to other people. Even when I'm at work I keep to myself like I'm scared to let people in but when I do kind of open up and answer questions people don't know what to think. It is so hard not to break down or tear i up when I talk about some of the things I've been through. Thank you for playing this and helping get this information out there
A couple of their songs you may like are 1- Blue on Black and 2- Living the dream
Every time I watch this music video I cry within the first 5 seconds everytime because almost my whole family served and a lot of them didn’t make it back home and it always hits me listening not just this song but all of FFDP songs. I praise our military for doing things and accomplishing missions I couldn’t even begin to believe I could do
It is a great song and sends a good message and it a great band, another go one to listen to by five finger death punch is called a little bit off, or jeykel and Hyde, u will really like hearing his different vocals in both them
Check out 'Blue on Black'. It's a cover that was an original from Kenny Wayne Shepard from 1997. FFDP does 2 of them. One with just them, and then a collaboration they did with Brantley Gilbert, Kenny and Brian May of Queen. They used to support the Gary Sinise Foundation. Good stuff there.
Hi from Australia, my dad is a Vietnam War veteran with PTSD ❤
Hello Australia. Pls tell him we say thank you for his service
This song is a masterpiece, period!
Many in my extended family have served in the military. I have friends who I have cried with because another person they served with committed suicide. They don't decide where they go to serve, so lets lay that blame where it belongs, with the ppl who decide where they go. Regardless of what you think of war support the troops. SHARE THIS VIDEO.
Runaway Train - Soul Asylum from the 90's for missing kids....we play FFDP at the VA during some groups
Sabaton En Livstid i Krig (Lifetime at war) live in Gothenburg is also freakin´ epic!
Gone away is another great cover they did.
