Rosalie, when Beth is singing Am I the One live at the Paradiso she jumps down off the stage and sits with the audience singing. She has no ear monitors and is on the wrong side of the stage monitors so her only reference to her voice is what she can hear from the speakers on the sides of the stage. It is an electric performance and she carries it off beautifully even without the vocal monitoring everyone today uses. It is a must listen in your journey listening to Ms. Beth Hart.

I had tickets to see her in April and was really looking forward to it then she ended up hospitalized and cancelled the tour. I was really sorry to miss her.

Beth has a very distinct vibrato - it's so natural that it's even in her laughter. I've seen her live many years ago and she's absolutely amazing. A true force of nature and so much inside the music as you also say!

I recognise some of what I try to practice on guitar in her vocal performance, she plays with dynamics, loud soft low high, and she plays with the timing rushing the time and suddenly dropping behind the beat to create suspense, then hitting you ahead of the beat with the resolution, great stuff, I'll be checking out more Beth Hart. I may be a guitarist but I get more melodic inspiration from great vocalists than I do from guitar players.

She is. To learn about her: "Leave The Light On" . "Setting Me Free" is also amazing, showing her background. Her life was really hard, abusive relationships as a girl, addiction, heavy bipolar disorder... She very openly communicates that. She IS a legend.

If you ever get the chance, go and see Beth performing live. She is a phenominal singer and her performance will take your emotions for the ride of their life! She draws the audience in by telling them the circumstances in which she wrote the song but when she sings she really is re-living those emotions and believe me you are right there living them with her too. Her performance is so raw and so visceral and you come away with your emotions drained from the workout but elated from having experienced the beautiful, sensual, agonised, vulnerable soul that is Beth Hart. Quite simply a blues singer and performer without equal, ever, in my opinion!

Her voice has been described as able to bring down light aircraft. I think she is the best female blues singer on the planet. I have seen her live twice and she is totally captivating and a very nice person.

She has been plagued with mental illness most of her life. When Hart sings the blues, she IS the blues. Almost to the point of discomfort to watch her, because you can see that she has been though it…..and it’s so raw, so out there, she lays herself bare and there’s so much pain there. I am so sad for her suffering, but good gawd, she channels it into some of the most powerfully emotive singing I’ve ever heard. Like Janis Joplin. Sensual and visceral are the perfect adjectives for her.

I’ve seen Beth at least 10 times. Been listening to her for 25 years. The woman sells out everywhere she goes. She does 2 hour shows and has never had a hit single. Her fans adore her. The blues world admirers her.

First Beth opening up for Johnny Lang in 1999. She was strung out and looked like she weighed about 80 pounds. She still had incredible power and control of her voice. She later got sober. You can see the road was difficult in her look and her sound and that is beautiful. She looks like perseverance and triumph.
I think she is like a great impressionist. She paints the picture through emotion. She could make you feel the emotions singing the alphabet.
