    My Mom grew a basic rubber tree plant when I was a child/teen. It literally outgrew the house. I recently bought a Burgundy for she and I to grow together (She is now 82) I am hoping that this plant can thrive and grow and bring us both joy! Thank you for the video!

    Love your videos. I just wanted to mention that I keep my variegated rubber tree in full direct sun outdoors for most of the day, all summer long here in the southernmost part Canada and it produces beautiful bright red leaves.

    Well Jungle Haven, I have been growing a new Rubber Plant for about 3 months now, and all is good! I don't consider growing something that can be finicky like a rubber plant a success until I have had it at least a full year! We shall see! I have reviewed your instructional video!

    My ruby and tineke love being outside during the Summer along with my Hoyas. They grow crazy, but I definitely have to keep them out of the direct sun as our summers hit 40° easily.

    I've had one that was decimated by mealybugs and dropped all it's leaves. I thought it was a gonner. But I put on my vynil gloves on an sprayed the remaining stem down with Neem oil and rubbed it all down and in a week new leaf shoots and now huge leaves are back.

    This video is super helpful!! When I bought my rubber tree I thought it was a ruby since the leaves were super dark and red but now they look exactly like your tineke, any idea why that might be and how I could get darker red leaves again? Could it be that it is just a tineke? I live in a place with not a lot of daylight but I have a grow light for it thinking that would help. Hopefully you or someone reading this might have an answer haha. Thank you!

    Hello ! I live in Martinique which is a french Caribbean island. I brought a variegated rubber plant in my home but My appartment doesn't get a lot of light especially in the living room. First the plant was like in pause (no growth nothing) an then after a couple of weeks it started browning and dropped some leaves. I read it was a sign of overwatering an actually I was doing too mutch on this side. So I repotted it and left it on the terrace where the light is brighter and I always check soil moisture before watering. Now my plant is doing so well ! It grows, and there's no issue with the leaves but now i hesitate to put it back in. I don't know if my problem was too low light or too much water ... (sorry for my english i'm a french speaker)

    • @karinkuhlemann5359

      Definitely low light was the issue. These plants suffer in low light and start dropping their leaves.

    Amazing video dear... I have one concern with my rubber plant...it's leaves are very very thin.. please suggest what I can I do to make them thick 💚

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 роки тому

      Thin leaves, in my experience, tend to be caused by 3 things - either a watering imbalance (meaning you're not giving your plant the correct amount of water it needs), not enough nutrients (when was your plant last repotted?) or lack of humidity from the air.
      Aside from the thin leaves, are you experiencing any other issues? 💚

    Just got a rubber plant and came across your video. The one I bought was an outdoor one in a green house. I bought it off the guy because the leaves were all folding and curling. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I repotted it in terracota and put it in a nice indirect sunny spot in my living room. Thanks

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 роки тому

      Hiya! So curling leaves are often associated with underwatering, meaning that if it had been quite neglected it might just be super thirsty. They can also be due to root issues though (the plant may have been saturated with water and has gone into shock). How did the roots look when you repotted it? 💚

    What soil/mixture do you recommend for Rubber Trees? I will be replanting my three (Ruby, Burgundy & Tineke) in the spring and usually mix my own.

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 роки тому +3

      They enjoy a well draining soil with a slightly acidic PH balance - I'll usually mix some perlite, sand/grit and pine bark into my soil. My little one's also doing really well in pon right now (seems to be great for more or less everything) 💚

    Greetings from California! I just discovered your video and I found it so helpful. Thank you!! A few months ago I purchased a Tineke and she is doing great. But I noticed a few brown dots on the leaves. Any idea what that could mean? Other than that there is new growth and looking gorgeous.

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much! Are the brown patches mainly covering the paler/white variegation? From my experience this could either be lack of humidity, or incorrect watering... I've made a video on all the causes of brown leaf spots (scroll back through my older vids), but those two have been the common cause in my experience with this plant 💚

    Hi, can you elaborate more on underwatering better than overwatering and watering schedule in spring, summer and winter. I see in other videos advising that whichever plant it is water it thoroughly until it drains. Does this apply to ficus plants also as I did it in winter(watering once in a month thoroughly) and see ficus plants loosing couple of leaves immediately in 3-5 days.

      It sounds to me like you might have over watered it... It's really easy to do, and the times before this has happened to me, that's usually been the case. I'd recommend checking the roots ASAP and treating if necessary before repotting in new soil (I have a video on Hydrogen Peroxide that goes over the best way to treat a plant for root rot) 💚
