I resonated so much with this because my family came to America as refugees with literally the clothes on our backs. Growing up in Michigan, I remember my dad riding his bike in the snow to and from work until we could finally afford a car. As a child, the embarrassment I felt, morphed into guilt and then evolved into admiration for my father. The sacrifices are endless so thank you for this video and for reminding us all that no matter our backgrounds or circumstances, the sacrifices and love of a father are endless.

Dan is a longtime car buddy of mine, and I've always looked at him with reverence and awe about all the great cars he's been fortunate to own and enjoy. That is, until today. Now I look up to Dan with the respect of knowing that he's just an all around awesome person. Sure, I've known that all along too...but he's a truly great man with the right values...and that is much more important than just being the owner of a few cool cars. Much respect to a great man who I'm proud to call a friend.

My grandfather learned 4 languages by 16 and travelled around Europe trying to find a place to settle in the post war era, he eventually found work and the woman of his dreams in England and that's why I'm here. He gave my father a brilliant upbringing and my father gave the same to me, if there is anyone I admire or idolise it's my parents (and you of course)

Wow, I’m binge watching your videos like so many others and balling my eyes out. My father immigrated to the U.S. from Japan all on his own in his 20’s. He is the hardest working man I know. He has taught me so much about life and having integrity in everything I do. He once scolded me for being late to work. I told him my boss wasn’t going to be there and that it didn’t matter. He got mad at me told me that even if no one sees you, you should always do the right thing. He’s now 85 and I treasure each day I have with him. ❤️

I can tell you loved them alot, from 5 years ago you still miss them i can tell you are a good person, even if there were sometimes bad times with them or whatever, i can tell you treated them good and would try make them feel special unfortunately not many kids like this they jus throw them in a care home and leave them and dont visit or anythin.
If your parents was here they would tell you how special you are to them and to keep trying to make the most out of things whatever happened. Im here if u want advice or anything
Here is some other stuff someone sent me hope it helps
Never let the evil of this world stop you from being good, despite the bad thats happened there are alot of things worth looking foreward to, people who you will mean the world to yet u aint even met them yet. Try to always keep ignorin these bad thoughts, what done is done and you cant change past but you still can make the most of what to come, dont let the darkness of the past ruin the brightness of the future. Keep ignorin the bad thoughts with time it gets easier to manage, keep goin through this storm just little while longer and you will be glad that when you are enjoyin the sunshine, that u ignored the voices that told u to quit

Me and my wife are expecting and as soon as I found out, I sold my 07 Subaru STi World Rally Blue, gold wheels(Which was supposed to be my forever car).
I spent a lot of time and money fixing and using that car and it was wonderful, but I totally agree. Time is something that is priceless and it was worth getting rid of it so I can spend time with my future daughter and family. Happy Father's Day to your Dad!

I always say a Parent’s Unconditional Love is the closes thing we may experience to God’s unconditional love for us here on Earth. That unconditional Love becomes even more apparent once one has experience Parent hood for themselves. The selflessness that goes into nurturing and loving your own child is like nothing else you have ever experience in your life. Its God’s way of teaching us what True Unconditional Love really is.

Hi, I know this is off topic from the video but I was thinking of going into mech engineering and I know you're one so can I have your thoughts on it. Do you have to be naturally smart or not. Love your videos btw been watching all of them since I had discovered your channel.

hey my friend! no to be honest this doesn't just apply to mechanical engineering only but hard work and consistency is way more important than "natural smarts". if you're interested and apply yourself you can do well!!

What does having a fun dream car have anything to do with spending time with your family lol. You can have nice thing and still highly prioritize your family. As a married man with a child and a dream car I can tell you that you don’t have to mix your own hobbies with family time. You should still prioritize your family because there’s only one of them and nothing can replace them.

I think its more about the shifting of priorities and removal of distractions. like I said Dan can easily keep the car but with his attention all on his family, there's no point in keeping an expensive paperweight sitting around

Honestly, I would sell that car too for 300K and use that money to buy a well driven standard R34 or R33 GTR. I would be too afraid to drive the MP 34 V spec. I'm sure he bought it for 1/3 what he sold it for. It's the economic and smart thing to do.

I'd really like to know what Dan does for work, I presume some sort of tech entrepreneur? From zero to having true freedom in 15 years is very inspirational.
