Probably a very small population of individuals with truly no ability to reckon their own fallibility; though it is not uncommon to encounter individuals with a well-polished veneer exposing their own crippling hubris.
in 1996 my mom bought me a 1989 civic, my mom was a doctor but she told me if I wanted to keep the car running I have to get a job and pay for insurance and gas, she taught me to work at an age and reward myself, I also took mechanics class in high school so I can fix my car due to not having much money, at the end I became a nurse and took care of her for 5 years doing her dialysis at home until she passed away. today is her 7th year death anniversary. God bless you.
yeah. Im spoiled asf and was kinda upset that my parents werent buying into letting me get a s13 coupe. I regret it so im just going to be grateful for everything from now on.
@@haffa0905 sheesh s13 coupes are amazing, I want to get a miata before I get my learners but am trying to do it without my dad even though he insists on it
Had one of your videos in my recommended list and started watching a few videos...Great videos and appreciate your willingness to open up and being honest and even vulnerable. Keep fighting the good fight...hope your mom gets better somehow...
thank you hiroyuki this means so much to me!! I appreciate you and thank you for your support and encouragement. and also your videos are making me hungry haha
I love that every video of yours I watch, I’m reminded to practice generosity and gratefulness 🙏 you inspire me so much Frank! Love you so much brother ❤️
This is exactly like me, I didn’t realise anything and didn’t do anything I’m only 15 but know a lot that I hadn’t.. found out that my mother was $30,000 in debt and now she’s bankrupt and can’t do anything with her life. Not only did she do that for me but the whole family, my mother has been here since I was born we went through thick and thin, she went homeless for a year while I was stuck at my pops which wasn’t the best, my brothers and I were abused and I knew she loves us so we stayed strong. A year later we found a small unit and met my new step dad we had nothing but anything was better than being homeless and being abused so we stayed happy using bean bags as a couch.. it doesn’t matter what u have as long as u have family and there’s love, I’m fine. Later we moved to a bigger house and we live in a house 5 bedrooms and there’s 9 of my parents and brothers, sharing rooms, sharing almost anything. Sadly that’s when I knew she was $30,000 in debt and feel extremely saddened. I don’t need anything from the comments just for this to be heard. We still aren’t “rich” but one day I hope to pay off that debt for her. She even used her superannuation to spend for us, using her only retirement money. Love your videos tho, love working with cars and hope to buy a car that I can mod
your love for your mom is inspiring, work hard and keep at it and you can take care of her as shes cared for you. thank you for sharing so openly and honestly it really speaks directly to me!! i appreciate you my friend
Recently I’ve been finding UA-camrs who are real asf this guy and some dude named og shadow who talks about his life in the cartel and just shit that’s happened to him I love when people keep it real man
@@vontw33zy I like your correction, but IMO asian parents are much more loving towards their children compared to parents in western countries...just an observation...might be wrong
I love your honesty man. This hits home for me too. My folks are immigrants, who decided to move for a better life here for us. They worked really hard to support me. I'm not much of a big spender and I don't chase the latest things to buy, but i am now at a point in life where I can buy things and say I can afford it. However, when I do have something expensive in mind, I start remembering how I went with my mum to second hand shops to buy a coat she needed for a job interview (even then she checked the price tag) or when my dad woke up super early to catch a bus for a 2 hour trip for a low paying job. We could not afford day/after school care, so my folks would ask us to stay in the playground or near school classrooms to be safe, as they arrived home very late. I remember once the teacher caught us hanging around and they hassled my folks about the after school program. So we sometimes hid near the playground equipment. The fact that you are acknowleding your lifes choices and sharing it with the community is very humble. More so the respect you are showing to your parents and being that good son. Thank you
Just so you know Frank, I started volunteering at Dementia care home in my local community because of the videos you've made lately. It's made me realise how lucky I am to have all the things we take for granted. I don't usually comment on anything but I just thought you should know that sharing your content/story is literally changing lives all over the world and having a bigger impact than you can probably see on face value. Keep it up bro!
joseph my heart is so full that you are doing that. you are amazing and I am so humbled by your comment. thank you so much my friend you are incredible!!!
Bravo, Frank. I don't normally comment on YT, but I think these personal stories, vulnerabilities that you're displaying, and life lessons that you're sharing can make a big impact on folks, so keep going.
This popped up on my recommended videos. And did not regret watching the whole thing. I’m 18 years old. I’m trying my best to be wise with my money, it’s hard but I’m also trying to see if I could help out my parents in anyway that I can whether that’s paying their bills when they can’t or whatever. My dad is also teaching himself how to be good with finances and he’s trying to teach me and I’m trying to teach myself as well. It’s tough and I’ve caught myself when I was younger begging my parents for stuff not knowing at all their financial situation. I can only imagine the things they’ve sacrificed for me. All I can do is return the favor. Thank you for this video!
As a asian and first generation immigrant. I can relate so much as when i started asking for things i always got , even though deep down i know how hard my parents were working. They always gave me what i wanted , but now that I’m grown up I’m giving back to them and taking care of their bills . I really do agree that lower income families do not have financial literacy, especially if your a 1st generation immigrants. Investing was not a thing because they didn’t know how it worked and always heard horror stories. Age 18 i started investing and my parents said “ investing is for the rich that can lose money” .
Man that is true story like i mean what most parents think. I ask my parents for permission wether i can start investing with little money and see how it goes. I've calculated it and learned it for months and i will indeed make profit. And yet they are afraid that i might lose a lot of money from it. The thing is they have some of my money that they've borrowed from me so they will never give it to me because it's too risky. I'm a stubborn person so what i did is saving some from my own pocket and start investing with it without them knowing it. And yes i do make some profit from it. When i do have enough profit, i'll gladly give my parents some of my profit as a thanks for what they've done for me. Also what your parents said about "investing is for the rich", well my parents said the exact same thing.
When my grandpa died, I learned how much he sacrificed for my family to be in a country away from the famine, hardships in china after WW2. He made so many sacrifices so that his family would have better opportunities in life. I hate that I was so immature, ignorant and ungrateful. My moment of regret is this. I wish I had a better relationship with him and understood better back then. This was one of my life lessons that I regret as well as I am grateful for. I will never take family for granted ever again and be as hard working as him. Your video is so real. We all have these moments in our lives Frank, Thanks for sharing your past moments which gave you life lessons. We can only learn as we go along, and pass on our knowledge for the next generation and bettering ourselves at the same time. You're a real example of this, and i'm happy you're bettering the world one video at a time.
thank you so much for sharing about your grandfather!! I think like you said and what others have shared, the best we can do is not beat ourselves up and just learn and do better and help others going forward. thank you for being so open my friend!!
Don’t feel too bad there’s nothing you could have done, even if you had a time machine and could go back it’s unlikely you could have convinced your past self to do different, because you were literally a different person back then
We are so lucky to have such amazing parents - they left their families, immigrated to a foreign country, learned a new language, built a new life, and sacrificed so much just to make us spoiled kids happy. This is such a great video to put things into perspective. You are a great teacher and story teller - I know this video will help so many people who watch it!
This video really struck a chord with me in terms of the financial journeys that 1st gen immigrant families have to go through. But beyond the content, it struck me that Frank, your gift is your ability to tell stories with such great energy and intellect. I think if we take a step back, you live a pretty ordinary life (purely objectively, not intended to offend). But you are able to take from what most people would deem ordinary, and you are able to extract lessons and reflections on it. But not only lessons, you are able to translate those personal lessons into stories that can be understood and shared with many others of us that just live that ordinary life and take it as it is, without lessons, and without stories to share. I think that's the meta-lesson of this story, that there is tremendous value in the ordinary moments that we can make a decision to make un-ordinary and to help a stranger in need. You do so not only by helping your brother, the old man on the bike, but also by communicating these lessons to your followers in this articulate and compelling narrative. Thank you, as always.
david my heart is so full reading your comment. you really help confirm for me that I have a purpose here and that I cannot let this gift I've been given go to waste. thank you for all your consistent encouragement and support, its always so good to hear from you!! thank you my friend!!
Simply put, Frank. You are a good man. And you have the ability to make others, myself included want to be a better man through your sharing. Please continue to be an inspiration, the world needs you. Thank you so much, Frank!
What a convoluted, but ultimately rewarding and hopeful story! My comment is probably like dozens of others, but I've been following your channel for quite some time, and you've always been one of my favourite channels to watch because of how self-reflective and honest you are in these videos. Your video has encouraged me to be less afraid and more willing to help others even when I'm not sure, so thank you for that. God bless! Hope to continue seeing more new videosssss
thank you frederic!! I'm glad! convoluted for sure when I was making this I was asking myself if I could even follow my own line of thinking... haha, appreciate you my friend!!
I’m Mexican since I was a kid I was always aware of my parents financial situation and because of that I’ve started to buy my own shit since I was 16 and never asked them for money
It may have been 10 years ago when I saw your fast and furious video. I was just getting my license and I really really wanted a Mazda RX7 FD. I’m pretty sure, it’s because of you I didn’t beg for it. My parents ended up giving me their car and I left for college leaving it behind. You’ve already helped me and others just by sharing your mature perspectives. More than you’ll ever know Frank.
Not gonna lie bro, I'm in 4th year at my college now and all my friends got cars. As a car guy I thought the same thing like why can't we just get a car. Man, this video is a good reality check for me.
I’ve seen a homeless man convulsing on the street while drunkards stumbled out of the bar and others walked into a boba shop only feet away. I called the paramedics and he was having a seizure. They got him to the hospital I presume he got help. You have to be the change in the world. Even if you don’t feel you know everything, sometimes all people need is someone to ask if they’re okay. If you’re going to think about that situation later and think to yourself “I wonder what happened” you need to act. Don’t be the one that allows chaos to prevail, we’re all in this together. Thanks Frank for such real content, I’ve been a viewer since I was 10 and you’ve definitely had an impact.
I appreciate you being real in your videos. Your vlogs have gotten me reflecting a lot of my parents and humble beginnings. As immigrants my family too didn’t have the finances for us to live extravagant lifestyles, but somehow they made our education and opportunities happen which I’m extremely grateful for now. I know as kids growing up we all make mistakes and only as adults we then realize our own stupidity (for the most part) but I see wisdom as not the inability to make mistakes but the ability to learn from them quickly. Also, you taking care of your mom with dementia is a huge inspiration.
Man this guy is a LEGEND....I THINK THIS IS THE BEST UA-camR EVER..... TAKES CARE OF SICK MOM AND JUST PAYING IT BACK TO HIS PARENTS BY DOING ALL THE THINGS HE DOES NOW......
Watching your videos it feels like I’m seeing someone I grew up with. I remember being in undergrad almost 10 years ago and texting you because you had shared your phone number and talking about life. Although we are relatively close in age, you are so much more mature and just a positive influence to those around you. Thank you for your transparency.. thank you for being genuine Frank.
You really reached out to me and thank you for that. It seems like such common sense to help others but sometimes we all need a reminder to do such thing. I'll definitely remember this the next time I see someone who needs help!
Frank, Your new content as of late has been amazing. You've really taught me to be more financially literate and careful with excessive materialism. It's always been a struggle of mine. Not to mention your videos really hit home for me. Although our situations are not entirely the same, your content has been making me realize how much I under appreciate my parents and what they do for me. My parents are also first generation immigrants (fled from the Vietnam War) and there have been numerous times where I was ashamed that they weren't educated, that they didn't have proper careers compared to my peers. In my early teens, all of my clothes were used or handed down to me, I would wear one pair of shoes for 2 years until they were completely destroyed. My clothes were old and often had to be sewn back together. It made me start to view my parents as "cheap" and that they didn't care about me. So to fuel my materialism, I got my first real job at 14. I began to strive to be financially independent, not because I thought my parents were struggling financially, but because I thought they were "cheap". It wasn't until I went to University that I started to realize why they were so frugal all of those years. Sure, I had to take out student loans, but whenever I was in a pinch or needed a bit of extra cash for X, Y, Z, they were there. No questions asked. Latest MacBook? No problem. Running behind on rent? Here's 4 months worth. They didn't want me to live in crappy, shared, and run down apartments. They wanted and encouraged me to live in brand new complexes because they wanted me to live the life they never had. Not to mention Vancouver rent is expensive as hell! In hindsight, their frugality is the reason why I've worked so hard to be where I am, it's the reason why I would work two jobs while in full-time studies. It taught me to be independent as much as possible and it's probably the reason why I'm going to be graduating from a top University this year. I'm absolutely terrible at saving, as soon all my essentials are covered, the rest goes out the window. To the point where at times I spend too much and have to ask my parents for assistance! I'm going to do my best to be more careful with my finances from now because you've really shown me what NOT to do when you're young and obsessed with materials. You've shown me that life can suddenly take a dark turn and I'm going to make an effort to call my parents more than just once a week. You're a great role model. Cheers from Canada, Jason
thank you jason!! your sharing is so incredible and heartwarming I appreciate you so much and I know your parents do too. its viewers like you that reinforce to me that learning from our mistakes and past and sharing it is so important. thank you for being so open, I am going to save your comment and use it as encouragement that I can look back on to keep going!!!! much love to you and your family!
I'm so glad you're back on youtube Frank. This video really struck a cord with me... I also grew up with immigrant Taiwanese parents that were financially illiterate but did everything in their power to make me happy.
Frank, for some reason after I had subbed a few years back I knew there was a reason why I did. I’ve literally unsubscribed to 95% of channels because I felt they were useless and brought nothing fruitful and impactful to myself. I’m only 23 but I’ve made many mistakes along the past 5 years that lead me to this current point in my life. I’ve had no direction or proper advice to help me in my life but mistakes that I’ve learned along the way. Even though I’m still young, hearing these things reassure me that I’m not alone in this. Thank you for this, my current situation is nearly identical to yours and having sound advice to critically think within decisions and their impacts is so valuable in life. Thank you for being who you are, I love your subtle evangelism at the end man you are a vessel! God bless
thank you Joel!! I appreciate you so much. your comment means so much to me and its people like you that help keep me going. appreciate you my friend!!
Thank you for posting such a genuine video, just had to watch the whole thing and a few others. Thank you for being there for you parents also. most people would have been to worried about their own life to think about their own parents life’s and their struggles and challenges they’re go through. Keep Up the wonderful content. I hope you and your family continue to fight strong for the future ❤️
Frank, discovered your channel a few days ago and brother I appreciate all your content. My parents are also first gen Asian immigrants in Canada. This video reminds me a lot of my childhood as well. Never knowing the real story behind closed doors of my parents and only for me to keep asking for more and more in my teen years, and now in my mid 30’s starting to understand their hardship and the sacrifice they make for us. The care you provide to your mom.....man you inspire all. Our parents have given us all great starts to life.....it’s time for us to return the favor brother.
Frank, thank you. I’ve been binge watching your vids since you came back. I used to come for the lifting vids, but damn, seeing this side of you man. It’s amazing. Thank you for being transparent with us. I wish you and your ohana the best. You have such amazing parents and seeing you step up and be the man you need to be for them. Much respect brother. Aloha.
I lost my parents this year and coming across your channel. Brings back memories of what shaped me as who I am I hope you and your family go through this new phase in life with much love.
damn frank you were so ungrateful and bratty! i'm jking. i feel like most people can relate to you, i can. looking back i realized how much of a scumbag i was without appreciating how much my parents have already given me. thats part of growing up, being able to look back and call yourself a scumbag. it's lessons learned that we can teach others.
Frank, It is absolutely wonderful to see you back! Just like back all those years ago you still make me pause and think about my own life and make me wonder about how I can be better. I did not grow up rich by any means but both my parents sacrificed a lot for me even though they were divorced. Thank you for sharing this story. Also another thank you! Years ago your lifting videos gave me so much motivation to train harder! I look forward to watching more of your content in the future!
I just was recommended this video before heading into work. As a first generation Asian immigrant, your struggles and success really hit a cord with me. I grew up in a similar situation but instead of cars at 16, it was gaming. The lessons learned and the community I interacted with helped me developed into the person I am today, thus I am currently serving as a military officer protecting the people I love. Even if it is one video or a random act of kindness, the ripple it will cause are incredible. I wish the best for your family's mental and physical health and stay awesome!
man frank, watching you now in 2020 feels so refreshing. thank you youtube for putting your video in my recommended videos. i watched you when i first made my youtube account in 2007 and basically grew up watching your videos. you have never failed to always teach an important lesson in your videos, even if they were just goofy skits and that is a rare thing to come by in this youtube space. it is so good to see that you're so self-aware and humbled by the experiences you've encountered in your life. i wish you nothing but the best moving forward in life, please keep doing youtube videos like this because you never know who's life you'll affect by simply talking about your life in a video
Came from the stick shift video- but thank you so much for sharing your stories, experiences and lessons! I'm glad I found this channel. Reminded me to be always self-reflective, more giving and more caring especially in these trying times
Glad you’re back Frank, and also 1st gen Taiwanese here. There couldn’t have been better timing for you to cover these topics. I watched your vids when I was an aspiring 17 year old. Now I’m 25 and from the personal finance to the visceral personal experiences you shared this is all evermore relevant. Thank you and keep up the great work!!!!!!
As an immigrant who moved with my parents to England you've given me a serious reality check. I've always begged my parents for money that they didn't have so that I could fit in with my friends. I'm turning 18 soon and I only know realise that I completely took advantage of their kindness. I will 100% make sure their efforts were not in vain.
Man I love watching your videos, they always get me to reflect on how I treat those around me and honestly make me try to be a better person. Thank you. Thank you!
Yet another very insightful vid Frank! Its so great to hear you speak positively about your experiences and help your viewers avoid your mistakes. Not everyone can speak so openly about things they've done wrong in the past. I see a lot of myself in these stories so you putting out these vids really makes a difference in my life, thank you!
after 9:40 mark i couldnt help but smile at how proud i was at where these stories were leading too. such good outlook to trace back from an amazing moment where you were able to help someone, because of tragic things in your past that had prepared you for that moment. everything can be good, everything can aide to something else, and I am just so happy you were able to trace that
thank you sara!!! miss you dear friend. love and prayers for you and the family in this time. thank you for staying so positive and being a shining example to us all
Wow, your dad has strong genes. You look so much like him. Just less hair, more muskuls. Of all the youtubers I’ve followed over the years, Frank has always been honest, kept it real, never asked for a like or a subscribe. Just posts good stories and life lessons. I wish there were more ways to support you dude. I know you were/are a gamer. I added you when you shared your old PSN many years ago, Lmlugatu or something like that. If you had a twitch channel, I’d for sure sub you.
I can’t even lie man i really relate to this, another thing about being asian well at least to my family is that it’s really hard talking about money without bringing up emotions but thank you for this video it really means a lot
I'm 19 rn. No job and my parents are paying for my community college. My Dad handles financing very well. But it makes me think I can help them by starting to care for myself. I appreciate you for putting this video out. Definetly making me rethink my experience.
Aww this is such a good story. Your parents were so sweet to you. And not gonna lie you acted like shit back then. Good video!! I might or might not have been emotionally moved by this..
Didn't know one punch man had such an emotional story Serious note - thank you for this video, it taught me to think for myself and think critically and be considerate to others
i remember watching you when you were one of the first youtube asian comedians. i was kind of sad that you left. you're not a perfect human being- which makes you relatable. you have a talent for videos, humor, and theatricality. take the talents that you have and use them to the fullest. make your parents proud. you're going to go far with your humility, honesty, and openness.
Just found your videos today, and just binged watched all of them. Please dont stop making videos again, we need people like you on youtube. You inspired me. Thank you Frank. God bless you and your family.
The video of you buying your brother his dream car popped up and I must say I was touched at the part where you hugged your mother. Keep up with these videos. Appreciate your humility, your honesty and most of all your love for your family. Hope to see you around in SoCal.
You are awesome and an amazing human being you may of went through some tough challenges and didn't understand most of the things in life growing up with your Parents but the real reason you went through it is so you can do videos like this telling us what you went through and what to learn from it in life because by doing this you are impacting someone life to want to do better as you did brother and I thank you and proud of you for doing it.
This video brought me to tears man! Especially seeing how much honor you have for your parents. Keep producing content like this. You are adding value to the world. God bless!
Title : why I yelled at my parents for not buying me a supra Video starts: bruh Edit : I take back everything I've ever said, also kinda feel bad that I respect my parents but I don't show it.
My grand father had dementia before he passed, it's hereditary and extremely heart breaking to try to help. I prey that your mother always remembers what an amazing person you've become. You seem genuinely great for helping your mother like that.
Your stories resonate with me deeply, my parents had little education and thus their ability to manage finances were almost non-existent. Yet they provided myself and my brother with everything we desired, often sacrificing many things just so we got what we wanted. Your videos make me realise that happiness is not just about material things and a flashy lifestyle. We must cherish what we have at any moment. I will be sure to tell my parents how much I love them and give them a hug because I know one day that may not be possible. Thank you Frank.
Hey frank, I love how you have returned to youtube. It’s a privilege to be able to listen to your stories and learn so much from them. I’ve been watching since the og gym videos with Hanh. You are one of my role models and I really appreciate you
Bro this made me cry. My mom suffered 3 strokes by the time I was 15. I (being a kid and teen) went through a lot at home and school but helping my mom always made me feel better. That bit in the beginning where you’re helping and feeding and exercising with your mom was so sweet, it reminded me of my childhood and how happy I was even when we were poor and on food stamps. The rest of your story basically summed up my teenage years, what I learned at 18 & 19, and take a reassuring sigh of relief that at 20, I’ve matured well. I grew up hearing blessings for looking after my mother in the hard times she continues to have and wow I see it sure pays off. Hope you really achieve everything you’ve ever wanted to do bro 👍🏽 definitely earned a subscriber 🤟🏽
Your content is so authentic and moving brother. It takes balls to put yourself out there like that. The recent videos have given me such perspective on my own life, especially being similar to you with respect to the gym and wasting money on cars/modding/racing. I appreciate what you are doing
Hey frank, I am a child of first gen immigrant parents as well. In my case my parents were so bad with money I could see it already while I was a child. Throughout my entire childhood I was able to see see the debts and poor decisions they would make. It definitely opened up my eyes early on and never expected anything from them and started working at 15 to have my own money and pay for my own things. Now in my mid 20s I have put a good amount away and have no debts. Thank you for sharing your story as I know a lot of people who have had similar stories.
My brother..... Romans 8:28 King James Version 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Your videos will always leave me with such emotion, different emotions. It's crazy how good of a storyteller you are. It feels comforting in a way. Different aspects of your life that I cant relate too, I guess... Keep making videos Frank.
I've been following your channel for years, and I love that your content has always been exactly what I needed: funny when I'm down, inspiring when I'm demotivated, and insightful when I'm stuck. I'm really glad you're back and I appreciate you being my internet big brother. Much love!
Sad thing is... some people don’t realize how stupid they were.
I certainly didn't, and my stupidity appears to have only been minimal. But it was still big enough for me to say "Wow that was stupid".
Facts, can't help ignorance
we are stupid, take a look back at our origin :)
Hahahaha I could relate.
Probably a very small population of individuals with truly no ability to reckon their own fallibility; though it is not uncommon to encounter individuals with a well-polished veneer exposing their own crippling hubris.
The fact that you have two parents, let alone ones that can buy you a car is a blessing

in 1996 my mom bought me a 1989 civic, my mom was a doctor but she told me if I wanted to keep the car running I have to get a job and pay for insurance and gas, she taught me to work at an age and reward myself, I also took mechanics class in high school so I can fix my car due to not having much money, at the end I became a nurse and took care of her for 5 years doing her dialysis at home until she passed away. today is her 7th year death anniversary. God bless you.

Things will turn out better for you and your family as long as everyone is supportive amongst each other. Always keep your head up.

As a first generation Asian American, your video hits me on many levels.
thank you my friend!
Bless you dawg
I like people that reflect on them self and are honest with them self. Be a good son to your parents my man.
thank you my friend
As a asian and first generation immigrant. I can relate so much as when i started asking for things i always got , even though deep down i know how hard my parents were working. They always gave me what i wanted , but now that I’m grown up I’m giving back to them and taking care of their bills . I really do agree that lower income families do not have financial literacy, especially if your a 1st generation immigrants. Investing was not a thing because they didn’t know how it worked and always heard horror stories. Age 18 i started investing and my parents said “ investing is for the rich that can lose money” .
so true jacky!! nows our chance to change things for the better for our families. we wouldn't be where we are without their sacrifice
Don’t feel too bad there’s nothing you could have done, even if you had a time machine and could go back it’s unlikely you could have convinced your past self to do different, because you were literally a different person back then
This is some deep thinking that society is lacking. Self awareness is seldom associated with arrogance. Great video and insight Frank
Luxuries of modern life have left people feeling entitled and lacking gratefulness.
We are so lucky to have such amazing parents - they left their families, immigrated to a foreign country, learned a new language, built a new life, and sacrificed so much just to make us spoiled kids happy. This is such a great video to put things into perspective. You are a great teacher and story teller - I know this video will help so many people who watch it!
so true lisa!!! our parents sacrificed so much for us. thank you my dear friend
I love how Frank reads all the comments. He really does care about his audience and how we feel.
Looks like he skipped your comment king.

Thanks king💯
this dude is the reason i still have hope in humanity

Man, this video is a good reality check for me.
thanks chris! appreciate it. our time will come
I cried when I see how to take care of your mother. God bless you.
Frank,
Your new content as of late has been amazing.
Cheers from Canada,
Jason
thank you jason!! your sharing is so incredible and heartwarming I appreciate you so much and I know your parents do too. its viewers like you that reinforce to me that learning from our mistakes and past and sharing it is so important. thank you for being so open, I am going to save your comment and use it as encouragement that I can look back on to keep going!!!! much love to you and your family!
I'm so glad you're back on youtube Frank. This video really struck a cord with me... I also grew up with immigrant Taiwanese parents that were financially illiterate but did everything in their power to make me happy.
thanks Ben! our parents really did everything they could for us at immense sacrifice to themselves
I dread the end of the video because the stories and footage are so good. It's like listening to story-time and not wanting the story to end.
LOL ANDYYYYYYYY MISS YOU MY FRIEND

It takes a lot of balls to tell the world how much u value materialistic things more then your own parents

I don't think that's true. He just got completely overwhelmed by the spoiled life he had, and it grew to be too much.
Hey frank, I love how you have returned to youtube. It’s a privilege to be able to listen to your stories and learn so much from them. I’ve been watching since the og gym videos with Hanh. You are one of my role models and I really appreciate you
5:13 LOL. In the immortal words of Fast Five "we don't ever, EVER let them get into cars"

Romans 8:28
King James Version
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
my favorite verse!
@@ice1cube I just read it in your description box on your channel it's a great verse!
Much love!
Watching all these videos about your parents and everything else about your life has made me realize how much I take everything for granted.
🙏🙏 thank you
