Hi Deborah, not wanting to sound like a broken record, but again your talent knows no bounds. The end result is nothing short of absolutely stunning and I only wish I could do this in my own home. Well done as it really is so beautiful and has transformed your entrance to a next level of wow factor. Happy Easter XX
Thank you for the level of detail. The camera angles and explaining why is really helpful. I'm about to attempt my first DIY stair runner and your in-depth explanation makes it seem doable!
This looks so good! Looks like a professional carpet installer did this. You are so talented in the handy man/woman role! I love the rug you chose. Your house is looking fabulous.
I’m so in awe of your DIY skills. I know I say this every time but never in a million years could I do this. The stairs look lovely. Have a great Easter Sunday 🐣🐥
Great work! We did a winder with 5 winding steps with this runner and didn't know about the rug option. We did manage, and it looks good, but wish I'd seen this first! Going to look at your stair rod fitting. Thanks!
Wow! You are so talented and so kind of you to show such great detail on how to do this. Thank you! I actually only came across your video while looking for info for another you tuber because it's something I've always fancied trying one day myself. So glad I've found your channel! Thank you 😊
Hello , I came here after reading comments on Dunelm runners, woman to woman that's very impressive, could you do an update on how the runner is holding out with staples please , I'm a little nervous about using staples to hold the runner. X
Hi there, I fitted my runner about a year ago. As you saw in the video, I used staples and double sided carpet tape where I didn’t want to use staples. The runner is still perfect a year later, no movement or fraying. If you’re anxious, don’t be, go for it!! I love my runner and I get compliments all the time ☺️
This is the perfect video! Thank you! Are you still happy with your stair runner after 8 or so months? I've read and heard some people say dust and constantly needing to vacuum the stairs is a problem with white steps and a stair runner...
Thank you. I completely love my stair runner. I do tend to hoover it more as the black edging shows the dust but I don’t mind doing it to keep it looking nice 😊
@@LivinganOrganisedLife You were lucky having a straight corner on your bottom step. so you could use beading to finish off your laminate. (I love your quart round beading over the curved mdf one you can buy). I have a curved bottom step I need to find a solution for! I think bendyply would be the way forward... Thanks again for your excellent videos.
I think many years ago rods may have had that purpose but nowadays they are purely decorative. The rods I’ve got are not close/tight enough to the carpet to hold it down.
Hi James, I used the Dunelm jute herringbone rug with the black border. The link is in the description box under the video and also here: www.dunelm.com/product/herringbone-border-rug-1000194785?defaultSkuId=30849947&colour=Herringbone+Border+Black Good luck with your project ☺️
About to do this, exact same runner and rods too by coincidence. Just wondering if you really cant see the staples, even coloured? I'm quite ocd about these details. Thanks!
Hi, I’m glad it was helpful. I used a Titan nail gun from Screwfix but they don’t sell it anymore. This one is similar and looks better: www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb961nal-30mm-second-fix-electric-nail-gun-240v/909pg?ref=SFAppShare
Hi, I sanded the wood with my palm sander and painted it with white water based satin quick dry paint. I had to fill it in a couple of places but it was pretty good under the carpet ☺️
Hi! I've had this exact project on hold because I'm so intimidated! Please could you share what staple gun you used? Do you think this is doable for a DIY novice?
Hi there, I’ve got the Screwfix Titan nail gun/stapler gun www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb968nst-15mm-second-fix-electric-nail-gun-stapler-240v/417pg?ref=SFAppShare I definitely think this project is achievable by a novice DIYer. Just have a go and take your time. Best of luck ☺️
@olgapetrusanu7444 I got mine from Screwfix, the Titan range. They’ve changed the range of staplers now but here’s a link to a similar one: www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb961nal-30mm-second-fix-electric-nail-gun-240v/909pg?ref=SFAppShare

Thanks Deborah! I’m literally about to do this exact same thing next week so very glad I’ve found this video! Thankyou!
Can I ask did you use the clear double sided carpet tape or the mesh one? Thanks
@gavp99 I used double sided clear tape from Screwfix which worked really well ☺️
Absolutely brilliant. Very informative and in a practical way that we can follow. Thank you.
Well done for this, its something that we are planning to do, hope it ;looks as good as yours !!
Great video! I’m attempting the exact same project this weekend! Thanks for sharing
Great effort 👍

Deborah, your video helped me so much! Thank you… I’ve just finished and not gonna lie, I copied you almost exactly lol😂
That’s fantastic, I’m so pleased my video helped you. Well done with your project! 😊
Well done Deborah, amazing job! 😊
Great video with a fantastic result. Thank you for sharing.
How long do you need the staples to get through the runner and underlay? Thanks.
Hi there, my staples are 15mm but it will depend on how deep your underlay is as it might be thicker. Hope your project goes well 😊
What colour is the sharpie please? I have the exact same runner!
Yours looks amazing ❤❤
Do you mean the gold sharpie I used on the staples? If so, it was metallic gold. Good luck with your project!! ☺️

I thought the idea of rods was that staples weren't necessary. Am I wrong?
I think many years ago rods may have had that purpose but nowadays they are purely decorative. The rods I’ve got are not close/tight enough to the carpet to hold it down.
Could you point me in the right direction for the rug please? I’ve been struggling to do the turn on my stairs with this exact carpet.
Hi James, I used the Dunelm jute herringbone rug with the black border. The link is in the description box under the video and also here: www.dunelm.com/product/herringbone-border-rug-1000194785?defaultSkuId=30849947&colour=Herringbone+Border+Black

So helpful, thank you!

I can’t see them. I tried to get them as close as I could to the back of the step so the rod would also cover them. Good luck with your project!!
@@LivinganOrganisedLife
Thanks! Is the underlay the width of the jute part or the whole width of the runner including border?
CIAO BELLISSIMO VIDEO, AUGURI BUONA PASQUA ♥️😁👍
This looks fab! Did you have any issues with the main part of the carpet fraying? Especially at the edges where you’re stapling?
Thank you! No I just made sure I turned the edge over a bit to make sure there were no loose bits. Hope you enjoy your project! ☺️
Thank you for your very informative video. Which staple gun did you use please? Thanks
Hi, I’m glad it was helpful. I used a Titan nail gun from Screwfix but they don’t sell it anymore. This one is similar and looks better: www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb961nal-30mm-second-fix-electric-nail-gun-240v/909pg?ref=SFAppShare
where did you get the underlay from please, do you have a link?
Sorry, I reused the existing underlay so I didn’t need to buy more
Love this ❤ you did an amazing job. Where did you get your underlay from please?
Thank you. I reused the underlay from the old carpet ☺️
Hi Deborah, how did you prepare the wooden side? Did you use a machine to sand and is there any special paint to use? Thanks
Hi, I sanded the wood with my palm sander and painted it with white water based satin quick dry paint. I had to fill it in a couple of places but it was pretty good under the carpet ☺️
Happy Easter!
