    You'd think the ants would catch on🤔.
    Your sweater is gorgeous. The pattern of the honeycomb really makes the neutral color of the yarn look amazing, like it is two tones. 😘
    I absolutely love how you combine photos and journaling to create these memory books. Photos alone don't tell the whole story. And the fabric selection is perfect.
    Thanks for sharing. Now I need to get my device plugged in before it dies, go out and feed the chickens, then come back in and warm up with another cuppa. I need a to do list but just can't be bothered. I feel I am in limbo waiting for the weather to turn so I can be out in the garden. Lots to do out there but snow again today. This is bordering on ridiculous!
    See you later. Tommy in the bidet, priceless🤗😍

      I think the ants don't have great eyesight!
      You're right about the honeycomb making the wool look two tones - another dimension.
      I'm so enjoying the memory books. I just select what I want and then when I look at it afterwards I can see the reasoning behind what I've chosen - as a counsellor everything has meaning!!
      At last we can let our chickens out here in the UK. They are loving it. I do so hope your weather improves soon. Snow still is ridiculous!
      See you soon. xx

    Hi Pene. Thank-you for a lovely hour. The colour and honeycomb pattern work beautifully together. Looks like it's going to be super squishy and warm.
    Really enjoyed going through your memory book. Such a special way to remember your childhood.
    The aniexty chats have been so interesting. I'm having a few physical health problems at the moment. Which are affecting my mental health. Gone back to basics with all the coping strategies. Distracting myself with some shawl knitting.
    Our daughter and husband celebrated their first wedding anniversary at the weekend. Where has that year gone!
    Have a lovely week, take care. Xx

    Hello Pene you are quite right about the spiders here in Australia. I live in an area surrounded by the bush in the south of Sydney. We have some very dangerous spiders and also some useful ones. We often find Redback spiders in our garage and have to be very cautious when gardening because of other dangerous spiders. We’ve also had a few baby red bellied black snakes in our yard. It’s all part of living in this beautiful place. I loved the stories and photos in your memory book. I’m so glad I got to meet your Mum through watching Chinwag. I hope Pete recovers from his accident very soon. That Tommy is just the cutest little boy.

      Hello Michelle, I don't think I'd have my affection for spiders if I lived where you do and as for snakes - well!! Pete is improving and I'm hoping another week will greatly improve things. I agree Tommy is a darling. xx

    Hi Pene and thank you for your lovely company while I had a little break for a cup of tea and some knitting! I think today’s fascinating fact about the ant-impersonating spider is one of the most amazing ones that you’ve shared so far! I’m quite happy to be with spiders - it’s slugs that I’m less keen on!! I really chuckled at your sudden urge to have a MacDonald’s meal! And then at your conclusion that once very 25 years is enough! I’m in agreement with that. Thanks for all the making that you shared today, too, and the delightful water play! xx

      Hi Helen, sorry to be late with the replies, it's been busy here what with 'the leg ' and getting my list done! Where the McDonald's urge came from I have no idea, glad it's passed! Weather here is cloudy and chilly but at least the hens can be let out now. Coat on and down the garden for a chat with them. See you next time. xx

    Hello Penelope. Your journal holds such wonderful memories. It is so very pretty too. The jumper is coming along so well and I will look forward to seeing it when it is finished. I am really frightened of spiders and living in Australia where our spiders are very large, we have our house sprayed annually to keep them away. It is always a wonder how something that big can get into the house. Take care and enjoy the sunshine. xx

    • @penelopeschinwag
      @penelopeschinwag  Рік тому

      I thought that might be the case with the spiders. Great idea to spray the house. The temperatures are low here in the SE 8 - 10, the sun showing itself here and there. Eventually the warmer weather will come and we'll be able to sit in the garden with a book. See you next time. xx

    Hi Pene Thanks for another interesting Chinwag ❤
    Looking through your new journal was a delight with so many memories to share.
    I had to skip your interesting facts section this time when I saw it was about spiders …I can’t bear to even look at a picture of one, they terrify me 😮
    We do have some very large ones living in our garden which occasionally come inside…ohh what a panic 😱,fortunately my husband is very happy to take care of them.
    I’m pleased that your weather has improved it does make a difference to our mental wellbeing 🌞
    Take care and hope Pete is recovering well.

    • @penelopeschinwag
      @penelopeschinwag  Рік тому

      Thanks Tracey, I thought you might skip it which is why I only put a couple of pictures up. They didn't look like spiders because the spider mimics an ant, living with them and eating them at night. Genius! At last I think Pete's leg is on the mend but the weather is very up and down. Only 8 degrees yesterday!
      The daylight is much longer now which I love. See you next time

    Thanks very much for the extra long episode, just for me. ;>)
    Loved it. The photos, your stories, your memory books, your great grandson and the bidet, all of it! My parents are going through their pictures and my dad wanted to throw them all away! Said since we didn't know our great grands and grands why would we want them? Crazy man! I'm spending the day with them tomorrow and will be showing them what you are doing with your family history. Hopefully Pete has won the battle regarding his leg, and you are both well by now. Take care. Looking forward to your next post!

    The trip though you 0-5 journal was wonderful. Thank you! I hope your husband has recovered from his fall by now. Sometimes is makes me sad and impatient when I think of how much longer it takes for my body to heal in my seventies compared to when I was in my thirties. I’m very happy and grateful to be the age I am, but impatience with myself still creeps in there for me. Salam wa sa’aadah

      Thanks for sharing my trip of 0-5. Pete went for an xray yesterday and is on different antibiotics to try and shift the inflammation which seem to be working. He's not too bad at all, it could have been much much worse. Yes, it's a bit of a shock when the seventies hit and things aren't as they were!

      That's so true, after mum doing her episodes I realise that what she missed most was anywhere to put things. I can't remember wardrobes or cupboards in our flat and certainly not in the flats mentioned in this memory book, apart from the new one in Harlow. Her face lit up when she talked about that. Mum was a very tidy person - she needed to be!

    another wonderful video with the very creative you - thank you. re: anxiety, i do hear what you're saying, and think i do a fairly decent job managing my personal variety - it's the political arena over here that i'm at a loss for. you say, "if you've got a worry, you can do something about it....", yes - for me personally, but there isn't a damn thing i can do about a horrific excuse for a human being getting another shot at our presidency. i mean, i only have so much money to donate. anyway, always love to hear about arthropods! don't think i've mentioned i'm an entomologist - arachnids/spiders yes, great mimics, but they pale in comparison to the gob-smacking mimicry abilities of insects! can that baby be any more cute? love that he's playing in a bidet - too cute. cheers pene! libby

    • @penelopeschinwag
      @penelopeschinwag  Рік тому

      Wow, an entomologist, how fascinating - on to researching insects now! I agree some things we are powerless over but most worries we can do something about. Its about when worry and anxiety make you poorly. A healthy anger there about the presidency! Maybe there's a solution somewhere. Playing in the bidet is such therapy for the bigger things of life!!
