Welcome to my channel. It's a chinwag! Time to spend together to relax and hopefully learn a bit about nature, crafting and sharing some stories with Pete and Mum. There will be some counselling too that you may find helpful. Oh and sometimes a poem, cooking and short film at the end.

I know I'm a bit late in the day, but everyone would know he was a mouse if you called him Seamus. (Shay mouse) Sorry, couldn't help it. Am binge watching your vlogs. A lovely discovery.
Never too late! Thanks for sharing and Seamus is great. Enjoy the binge! xx
Big hugs to your d Pete 50:39
hugs always welcome. xx
I love all your handwork!
thanks, much appreciated!
What a lovely episode. I know Cobham, such a lovely place. I come from Chessington, but moved to the North East when I was 40. I had a shop in Cobham with my first Husband, a Blacksmith, selling Iron beds and furniture. Lots of memories ❤️
Thanks for sharing your memories Carol. One memory triggers another! xx
Oh wow, wonderful to see your work and all the fun you have. 🌺
Thanks so much Dale, it was fun!
I’ve been watching your old episodes Penne, and I know your mother is gone now, but I just have to tell you she was a delight!
Thanks so much for telling me, and you're right she was a delight. I'm so happy you can enjoy the episodes and it means a lot to still be able to share her. I didn't realise at the time, it seemed a bit of fun to record, but of course now it is so precious. xx
I have just found your youtube i love hearing you read it reminded me so much of my mum who used to read to me every day even when i was grown up i hope you do more thank you x
What a lovely memory for you Carol. My dad read to me from when I was quite small. He loved poetry. I shall carry on, I was just feeling like I needed to take a breath, and I have. You may like to catch up as it's a bit of a story. The episodes are in a playlist. xx
I also bought this kit and it’s my first kit..I had it sitting around for 2 years and watched Janet Clare video many times got it down couple weeks ago….spent several days cutting it out.began sewing 3 days only got three blocks done as she said it’s not chain piecing.
It sure is a slow make and you have to watch the direction of the fabric at every turn. Not easy but looks terrific at the end. I show you it finished on episode 62. xx
I love this so much and will definitely give it a try!!
So pleased you enjoyed it. x
I’m so glad you are discovering the deep joy of the Merlin app! Such a remarkable resource! And your podcasts are definitely little pockets of serenity in this busy and sometimes stressful world - so a big thank you from me for being here! ❤
and a big thank you from me too for you being there! x
Very nice to catch up with you before heading off to work. Your jumper looks lovely. A tutorial for your quilted bag would be great. I'm already thinking of possible Christmas presents. Enjoyed the outtakes. X
Thanks Anita, Have a good day. xx
Hi Penny. I’m a relatively new subscriber, having been sent over to your podcast by Helen of Mousie Makes Podcast. I’ve enjoyed each and every episode I’ve watched, still catching up on previous ones, and really appreciate all of your efforts in making these videos. I can’t even begin to imagine how many hours go into it. You and I are the same vintage, and have had similar life paths but I grew up and still live in California. Im always interested in what you’ve been up to and am also thrilled to see that your husband has continued to improve these past months. If you are able to continue with these episodes, I know that I’ll appreciate and enjoy them. However, it’s up to you to decide what you feel you’re up for. Take care and thanks again for so many hours of companionship and shared interests. Take care.
Well, thanks so much for watching and I'm so pleased you enjoy what I do. I will carry on but have decided if I need a break or can't manage an episode then that's ok and so saying 'look out for me' seems to have done the trick for me. See you soon. xx
Hello Pen Thank You For A Lovely Video It’s Brightened My Day After All The Rain We Have Had To Day Along With Two Power Cuts, With The Tennis And Pen I’m So Blessed To Have You In My Life, Till Next Time Happy Crafting, I’m Playing Catch Up As We Have Spent A Lot Of Time Away Just Now ❤XX🤗
Lynn I am so pleased to hear from you and have imagined all sorts of things! I'm so pleased you have been away but of course sorry about the rain! It doesn't feel like July does it. However, we still have some chances of good weather. Enjoy the rest of the tennis. xx
@@penelopeschinwag I Have A Little Video Up Of One Of The Places We Have Been Only Went Up Yesterday If You Have Five XX
Thank you Pene, a genius idea to quilt an area at a time , I so dislike basting, tried everything & always end up thread basting, which takes hours and is back breaking. I hand quilt too so this is perfect. Definitely going to do this lap quilt - no matching seams, hooray, I always end up with mismatched seams, cut off corners etc - an American lady taught me years ago, & made me undo my blocks so many times, the fabric disintegrated & nearly put me off for life! so hand piecing here I come. Thank you so much, your calm gentle teaching is balm to the soul.❤
I've never felt like basting even works for me, somehow it all moves! So pleased you enjoyed the video xx
I think that a tutorial of the quilted bag will be wonderful!😊
It will be a coming Kathi!
I have not written before, but I just love your blogs…I knit and quilt as well, your work is just lovely. From s.W. Ontario, can.
Well lovely to hear from you Ruth, it makes all the difference for me. Hoping your weather in Ontario is better than here. It's cold and rainy!
I love the way you tell us about what brings you deep joy! I remember Stanley Unwin. You are an inspiration, so many crafts and makes, just lovely! Lovely to see you😍
Oh, so pleased you remember 'deep joy!'
Thanks Pene. I enjoyed the episode.
Thanks Denise, I so enjoyed learning about Agatha.
Another lovely chinwag. I loved the outtakes from long ago - your face when he interrupted you, priceless. He looked like Michael Cain. So much to say but keeping it short, thoroughly enjoyed hearing your thoughts. Thank you for sharing. The poem was brilliant. 🤗🥰
I'll tell him that about Michael Cain - he'll be interrupting more often!
What an absolute joy. Thanks
deep joy Sue! Thanks
I’d like to get that bunny pattern for socks. But when I looked it up it looked so different.
Bunny Wishes Socks pattern by Sarah L. Kelly on Ravelry. Did you look this up?
I made a whole list of notes from episode 116 yesterday and expected to write a comment today and then - surprise! - episode 117 is here! Lovely! And now I have another whole list of notes to make comments. But I would bore you rigid. I did not realize it is Thank You Day but then I looked and that is in the UK. In the USA it is September 15. Oh, well, every day I am thankful for some things and not as thrilled about others. I am always thankful to you for your lovely vlogs. Thank you! I thought about the word serene. My first husband was an alcoholic so I always think of the "God grant me the serenity..." saying. Not sure I should have mentioned this. So glad you are doing the sleeves but I can see where a bright little sleeveless one for spring and summer would be handy. Tommy was adorable at Disneyland. He must be a marvel if he can remain cheerful such long (and for me they would be exhausting) days. All your grands are adorable. I am rambling. Back to work. I am making free gift tags (three to a pack) for my daughter to give with each sale. She has a business called PurplePincushion. It keeps me very busy. My favorite piece of writing is called Desiderata. It is well-known among us old hippies (my bunch) but not sure if it is known in the UK. Written by Max Ehrmann. Looking forward to your next episode. All the best to you and yours.
I did think about the serenity prayer too. Exhausting days for me too, much prefer peaceful days in nature! How lovely that you help your daughter with her business. Thank you for pointing me in the direction of Desiderata, some beautiful words written in 1927. My dad always loved If by Rudyard Kipling which is similar. Take care. btw I love your waffle!
@@penelopeschinwag Just watched the mousie makes parade. Your lovely mousie items in 8 photos! I love all your makes. The little macaron...so adorable! I need to order some of those Acufactum fabrics by Daniela Drescher and also the ones from Sophia Drescher. So cute! Was so sorry you did not win the trip to Istanbul. What a hoot. The fabric on Pete's eyeglasses mat is so adorable. I'll try to find that one also. I know men like the poem "If" and it is a good one. All the best!
I love Julie! She just suggested you for a good chinwag. I could listen to you all day. Working through the grief of losing our only child in Feb. ‘22.
So pleased you have joined me but so very sorry to hear about the grief you are suffering. Thoughts are with you. xx
@@penelopeschinwag thank you! I found you very comforting. In the US, mental health care is so bad I’m looking for peace at every corner. I too find crafting soul soothing. Bless you. I lost my mother to Alzheimer’s in the ‘80’s. Every little family left. I think I’m mostly lonely.
Ah! Glad you know how much we all love your podcasts no pressure we will see you when we see yoxxu
I do! So many thank yous
Thank you for brightening my day and sharing your positivity, every second with you is priceless.
So pleased you day has been brightened, thanks for being there. xx
Thank YOU! What a wonderful Sunday surprise for me. It was so good to see you and I did laugh with the outtakes. Pete is so precious and you of course 🥰
Thanks Sandra, they did make me laugh too. My face was a picture, and so long as he's not in a dressing gown he's ok!
Saved your video until I had a quiet hour or so to do some sock knitting, and you could keep me company. Loved the poem, and I know I'll listen to it a few more times yet. Then the out takes came and Pene the look on your face when Pete came in, absolutely hilarious. Tears in my eyes through laughter and I couldn't see to knit! Looking forward to tutorial for bag when you have time. Thanks Pene and take care.
It did make me laugh and I was so pleased to be reminded of it. See you soon. xx
I love the mice they are so sweet. Your show is wonderful I love listening to you and learning from you. Thank you for sharing your life with us!

The outakes made me cry laughing, the expression on your face 😂😂 Pene your videos are very grounding, serenity thank you! ❤❤
Thanks Lilly xx
Thank you for video today, so lovely to hear your memories of Stanley Unwin. I try to gain some calm in this busy world, I have stopped watching the news as I found it too stressful. A fabulous poem and your reading of it really made me smile. I agree with other ladies we all need to be neighbors it would be fun. Have a good weekend. Thank you so much again for your chinwags X
Thanks Lorna, Heather is so good at the poetry! Enjoy your weekend too. xx
You are pure sunshine for the soul. To see you twice in one week is fabulous. I cannot wait for your bag tutorial and attempt to make one too. Stay well, stay safe, stay wonderful xx

Hello Penny, Thank you for another wonderful episode. I enjoyed the reading of the poem. I had a really good laugh. 😆 ❤
Always good to have a laugh.xx
So lovely to wake up and find you again Penelope. What happened to the two or maybe three weeks? I so agree with Sharon that there should be an empty apartment complex next door to you so we could all meet for craft. I would just love that. We could knit or sew as you told us a story. What a treat that would be. I will so look forward to the bag 'tutorial'. The little bag is just a perfect size. Take care dear. xx
I look forward to making the bag too. xx
I think you must have been a great counsellor! Watching from nz, which unless you have viewers in antartuca is the southern most place in the world!
Pete and I have always wanted to visit NZ but we're not great travellers! I loved my job as a counsellor. xx
Hi Penny, i was thinking the same..living near you would be lovely. Ive been following you all along, even recently started rewatching again from the start. Best wishes to you and Pete, take care, Susan in Oz 😊
Good morning to you Susan in Oz. I'll start on the bag soon. xx
When I found the notification that there was another post from Penelope already, I scurried for my knitting, all the while thinking how wonderful it would be to live in your vicinity. Now I see you are followed by thousands and your community cannot possibly absorb us all. Love thinking about serenity and laughed heartily at the outtakes, but when Pete called out to you in this episode my heart flew to my mouth and serenity was out the window. It sounded as if your house could be on fire! 🙃 Anyway, thank YOU for the joy and serenity you bring us. ❤❤❤
Well, not thousands Marcia! but a lovely few now. Serenity is such a beautiful word and I think laughter helps to feel it! Pete is always calling me so I am used to it - how many fish fingers, do you want cheese on your cauliflower!! Take care Marcia. xx
You are now over 2,000 subscribers! And we all think you are talking just to us.
LOL LOL Love the look on your face in the 'out takes' No words are required. I know that feeling. Have to say I loved Petes blue jersey, beautiful and the colour suits him.
