Tommy is one of the best singers period in our generation. He sounds better every year he gets older while the other greats lose their voices. Amazing. Keep singing Tommy.
That Tommy Shaw isn’t in the Rock n Roll hall of fame is simply absurd! The guy’s had incredible success with Styx, Damn Yankees and as a solo artist. Plus, he’s the primary/co-writer of all those great songs
Tommy is definitely one of the best singers and musicians I've ever heard. He is what made Styx in my opinion and definitely was great in the dam Yankees group. He never ages either.
Dead Planet - Tommy has had his problems with drugs and alcohol. Some musicians are able to handle them and others can't. It doesn't make you any less because you can't. His band mate Chuck Pannozo is dead for the twenty years. I'm sure Tommy doesn't denigrate him as you do. Listen to the song "Dear John".
He isn’t human. Nobody maintains their range into their sixties. Ann Wilson and Tommy Shaw are about it. That’s in the key it was recorded in. No down tuning.

Holy cow! Even though he is no longer young, but he sings like a youngster with super high note! Dam, really got to salute him.. Great job! 👏👍Born to be a singer!
If you ever wonder why uncle Ted was part of Damn Yankees. Go watch the music video for come again. He is a guitar God. Many people hate him but no one hates his talent. Tommy can still hit a range in the stratosphere. Even after a long show
Tommy Shaw is absolutely brilliant live, so much talent it's incredible. Saw him live with Damn Yankees in '91 and he blew me away. This video takes me back, thank you!
By far my favorite Damn Yankees song. Saw Styx last week in Montgomery, AL (his hometown) and the man can keep going forever. Wish Damn Yankees made a 3rd album.
Are you from Montgomery? I grew up north of there in Wetumpka. Love me some Tommy Shaw. He used to play at the bowling alley bar called Keglers Kove on Atlanta Highway in the 70's
Tommy sounds as good now as he ever has, both in his musicianship as well as his vocal range. Thanks for the post. I love his acoustic versions of many of their/his songs.
I couldn’t imagine playing a 12 string guitar, much less singing while I do it. Tommy is a super talented dude. I remember when he first joined Styx in the 70’s.
Are you FU##ING kidding me? Unsolicited vocals from the only GOD on vocals. This is how you replicate what you do in the studio. For those of you who thought Tommy was only a studio dog...well here is your proof that he is the REAL DEAL! This is so cool Tommy! And the audience singing along only proves that these people have followed your whole career! I was singing along with you doing the high harmonies! Thanks Tommy! What a singer!! Hot DAMN!!
To play and sing like that, with perfect pitch, superb! Great song! More talent in his little finger than in my whole body! As stated, one of the best...very underrated.
I was just thinking how immensely talented they both were (are). When you're that talented, you're usually equally passionate. My two cents on them, they were just passionate about making diffrerent kinds of music.
He's young at heart! He still looks, sounds, and plays amazing. Ive been a fan since he joined Styx back in 75. He just keeps getting better and better
What can you say, Steve Perry is the voice, but Tommy is close to that mantle. He is my fav musician ever since my 7 year old self heard Crystal Ball for the 1st time on my brothers record player in 1979. Have seen him perform so many times and his excitement and voice never fails to entertain. Tommy thanks and please keep writing and singing.
Thanks to the person who took this video. Now I can learn how the hell he plays this on acoustic. I thought he was finger picking some of it, but it turns out he's using a pic the entire time.
What an incredible performance! I didn't care for Damn Yankees back in the day (I was more of a Pieces of Eight-type Styx fan), but this is a beautiful song and so incredibly well performed. Thanks for posting!
Holy fuck how does this have 55k views , Tommy is a golden god , not sure if I should throw the horns or cry we should all just say thanks , for all you have given us , the appreciation for music and to all the fans , wish we could belt it out like that damn

He will always be my favorite Styx member since the 70’s! This is why!!!

This man definitely doesn't get the credit he deserves for his skills... one of the very best all around musicians...EVER.
Suzisueful damn straight
Amen!
Agreed!!!
Definitely
Very under rated for sure. Rick Emmett from Triumph is another & they kind of are alike. Damn Yankees put on an excellent concert
Jesus, Tommy is a freak of nature. His voice hasn’t changed since puberty! Just an absolutely fantastic, ridiculously talented musician.
One of the very few vocalists that has lost nothing...of his voice! Superb vocalist! True musician.
Looks pretty good too
@@luvaholic He took care of his voice yes.
One of the most underrated musicians of our time. That Tommy is not in the R&R Hall of Fame is the single biggest sham of all time.
Tommy is definitely one of the best singers and musicians I've ever heard. He is what made Styx in my opinion and definitely was great in the dam Yankees group. He never ages either.
I love it when I stumble upon something awesome in UA-cam. This was one of those moments. My god, that was awesome.
I know!
@@audreyaliasgar7738 Dude poured his soul out onto the stage on that. So good, came back to watch again.
Who needs a band? Tommy Shaw can get by just fine on his own.
Pensé lo mismo. El mismo es!! ❤
Some true technical vocals here, the man knows how to sing.
what a great singer, songwriter, etc.
Tommy Rocks and has the best hair in the biz. Not fair he has talent and great hair!
freakin' amazing! over 60 and still can hit the high notes every night.
Dead Planet - Tommy has had his problems with drugs and alcohol. Some musicians are able to handle them and others can't. It doesn't make you any less because you can't. Tommy & his acoustic 12 string guitar doin’ a Damn Yankees tune ..... whoaaaaaa yeaaaaaaahhhhhh ..... Here l come again! I ❤️love❤️ it! ✌️🤟🎶🤓
By far my favorite Damn Yankees song. Saw Styx last week in Montgomery, AL (his hometown) and the man can keep going forever. Wish Damn Yankees made a 3rd album.
Tyler Fergason They actually did a third album. It was never released. Damon Johnson , who now plays in Black Star Riders, played guitar on the album.
My favorite, too.
Tommy Shaw and Jackie Blades were just magic together.
Rumor is they had.
Are you from Montgomery? I grew up north of there in Wetumpka. Love me some Tommy Shaw. He used to play at the bowling alley bar called Keglers Kove on Atlanta Highway in the 70's
Saw him 3 weeks ago in CT and he's ageless, timeless, and just f'n amazing.
Tommy sounds as good now as he ever has, both in his musicianship as well as his vocal range. Thanks for the post. I love his acoustic versions of many of their/his songs.
Woo!!!!! what a vocal range.......

Mega talented guy. Always a pleasure listen to him and his friends.
One of the best musicians ever!
One of the best musicians still at 67, 64 here. Amazing professionalism and ability. Rock on Tommy Shaw! peace
I love this song. Of course I love all of Tommy Shaw's songs.
I saw him in Styx when he was about 23 and he is just as good now. He look so young.
To play and sing like that, with perfect pitch, superb! Great song! More talent in his little finger than in my whole body! As stated, one of the best...very underrated.
PERFECT TOMMY SHAW ! No Surprise here folks....Impeccable vocals and great guitarist Love from Toronto, Tommy you ROX BRO !
Tommy Shaw is definitely one of the most underrated and underappreciated guitar players/ singers of our current times!
You sometimes forget just how talented Tommy Shaw is..
All respect to Dennis deYoung, but Tommy Shaw is what made Styx so great...
I was just thinking how immensely talented they both were (are). When you're that talented, you're usually equally passionate. My two cents on them, they were just passionate about making diffrerent kinds of music.
I’m glad the rocker came out on top of that battle.

Great tune. Nice that he's pulling this one out now and then.
Damn it!! His upper register is STILL beyond reproach. Brilliant!!!!
One of the best 12 string pickers I think.

Amazing, just Tommy and his guitar!
Tommy can BRING IT!!! It never gets old...
I used to call him Tommy Skywalker wielding the 6 string light sabre, back in the 70's. Strong is the force still in him.
That was damn impressive!
0:42 for the beginning of that beautiful guitar 🎸
Outstanding!

Swear I've been around the world
Every room is an empty space
In the darkness I see your face
Whoa Whoa Whoa

When I finally get my hands on you
Tell you what I'm gonna do
Lay you down, strip you bare
Make love to you till the morning comes around
I wasn't lookin' when you pulled me in
Whoa oh oh oh
Yeah--
Lord, here I come again
Come again
Come again
