Who should I react to next?
Steelheart - She' s Gone..I'm from Malaysia..Please accept my request Maggie🥰🙏
Disturbed - Hold On To Memories
Same guys...Damn Yankees... the song "High Enough." Vocals are equally stellar. And if you you want one that's more uptempo... their song "Coming of Age."
This is one group that I truly yearn for a reunion.
@@Dano_in_Texas SIGNAL BOOST - that, or "Coming of Age"
Try out a young guy that is taking over the guitar scene...plus he can sing...Billy Strings singing Tinfoil and Turmoil
One of my all time favorite bands..Tommy Shaw is one of the most talented guitarists and vocalist in rock! Jack blades and Ted Nugent beyond amazing band..I saw them in concert in the early 90s....one of the best shows I saw!!
Yea Maggie Tommy came from the band Styx (late 70's early 80's), Jack came from Night Ranger ( 80's) and well Ted, he is his own animal. Cant remember where the drummer came from.
@@toddhenderson7525 Carteleone ended up with Lenard Skynard after Damn Yankees.. but he also toured with John Fogerty, Cher, and Shaw Blades. He is an AWESOME drummer!
You say 'guitarist' and that's accurate, but he's also a Grand-Ol-Opry-level mandolinist, etc.
If it has 'strangs', he'll try it at least Once.
@@lizzieb6311 He is! I sometimes think he gets overlooked a little! Gotta give him his props! But this is most definitely a Supergroup! I love Tommy Shaw, his vocals are always on point and he plays a mean guitar! Ted, of course is legendary and Jack is also brilliant! Too bad they weren't around longer! Love them!
saw Tommy Shaw on Darryl's House show. was awesome
That lead singer is Tommy Shaw, LEGEND of Styx fame.
Damn Yankees was a "supergroup" from the 90's that combined him, the amazing Mr Ted Nugent (Cat Scratch Fever?), and Jack Blades of Night Ranger.
Ted was on lead guitar there, and he's amazing as a rule.
Check "Coming of Age" by them. ;)
You're so right!!
why do you have a band photo of bon jovi for Damn Yankees? Teasing aside. EVERY SINGLE SONG on this album is AMAZING. EVERY SINGLE ONE
I know haha! I was going to comment that but I figured someone else had already done so 😄
Mine has Tommy Shaw
Change the Bon Jovi photo. WTH, We Are "The Damn Yankees!"
Bon Jovi wished they rocked this hard.
Great reaction and passion. I’ll overlook this minor mistake. Lol
Legends!! Tommy Shaw has one of the greatest voices ever & Ted Nugent is MAGIC on the guitar! They’re all phenomenal 🥰🎶
They were great live.. I saw them in 91 with Bad Company in Tucson
that’s Tommy Shaw’s (Styx) magic on vocals. Damn Yankees was a super-group that was musically amazing. Ted Nugent on lead guitar is a virtuoso on the electric guitar
Damn Yankees sorry
Don't forget Jack Blades, he can sing pretty well, too...
@@mavfin8720 of course he can
@@mavfin8720 Did you know they formed Shaw Blades and did a few tours? Their vocals harmonized beautifully ♥♥♥♥
I have always believed Damn Yankees were the last truly great rock band to come out of the late 80's / Early 90's before the landscape of that era of music changed...as it inevitably does. Tommy Shaw is one of the truly great but criminally underrated singer/songwriter/musicians.
One of the best supergroups of all time. I went to see Ted Nugent on new years eve 1989, and he performed with them as the opening band, and did his solo band afterwards...so awesome!!!!
I saw them in concert in February of 89 I think it was. They were awesome.
7:19 My mind went straight to the gutter😜
As amazing as Shaw and Nugent are, we have to give props to the vocals of Jack Blades in the harmony parts. Dude is singing an E5 with crystalline clarity!
You have 3 lead singer in this band...but Shaw of Styx and Blades of Night Ranger are unreal.
LOL and this ladies and gentlemen is the power of 80s metal ballads on beautiful women throughout time.
Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades wrote these songs. Both were into singing high and playing loud. This band was FUN!
Tommy shaw is probably one of the top underrated all around musicians of all time. Insane voice and song writing skills and a damn fine guitarist. Plays a 12 string like its nothing
Tommy is a badass slide guitarist, as well and plays a mean mandolin, too! Amazing talent!!
I agree with this so much. Styx was out there, but for some reason, I never listened to them and I did not know this man's name. Now, I can't stop playing Damn Yankees reaction videos. For some reason, I missed out on Tommy Shaw. He is way underrated and should have been featured much more. His voice is very clear
This was a definite power group these were all big name people back in the day from big name bands
One of the greatest bands ever - and the entire album is phenomenal! Back when this came out I had it on cassette tapes. I listened to this so many times I was one my third copy of it before finally buying it on CD years later; having worn the tapes out.
You missed an opportunity with not watching the live version - one of the greatest fret work ever on a stage. big bad ted nugent was untouchable on this song - and his stage presence and personality is so magnanimous. His rock star persona was bigger than life up there.
Tommy Shaw's vocal range was RIDICULOUS!!
3 words...... Tommy "freaking" Shaw !!!
Uncle Ted Nugent
Damn Yankee's - Where You Goin' Now 1992 - it's brilliant!
Saw these guys in concert. They were great. Uncle Ted shredded the guitar.
Supergroups don’t always work out… this one did. They’re all so damn talented there is no way for them to do anything but sound amazing.
I was 18 years old when this album came out. Played it on repeat for months. You can just have the entire album playing in the background and never tire of it. (was some good music back in the day) I think it was a Tuesday. 😁
I once read a comment that describes this song perfectly...'the only bad thing about this song is that it ends'! Lol...I couldn't have said it better myself! Great reaction! I love your appreciation of this timeless song from so many years ago!❤️🤘
This song kicks ass!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Yessssssss. Love this song. Say what you will about the NUGE but he shreds!
And these were guys that just picked it up! This has been one of the greatest songs ever made!
Tommy Shaw is a damn jewel and this is, hands down, one of Ted Nugent's most amazing guitar work ever.
Ahhhh!!! My favorite band and my favorite song they do! Tommy Shaw's voice is AMAZING!! The entire band is! This is a super group! Not underrated just a little before your time. I grew up with these guys. They don't have a bad song but I highly recommend The Silence is Broken, Where You Goin' Now, and High Enough.
That's Uncle Ted, the Motor City Madman shreding on Guitar
One of the greatest supergroups ever assembled saw them in 93 one of the best concerts I've ever heard
The perfect super group. These guys could rip. This is one of my favorite all time songs. This is about a perfect song.
One of all-time favorite songs in any genre from any artist .. it has everything, from amazing vocals to the absolutely incredible guitar work from the icon Ted Nugent!! Thanks for an awesome reaction Maggie, as always .. this song affects me exactly the same way each and every time I hear it.
That's Bon Jovi in pic lol, not Damn Yankees.
I love the Damn Yankees! So glad you got to react to them! Great job!
Such a blistering solo by uncle Ted, incredible tune from an amazing album.
Several more great songs to check out from this band, but I also want to mention Shaw-Blades for more of those magical vocal harmonies. Because Tommy and Jack's voices do blend together so well to create truly special harmonies, the guys decided to do a side project called Shaw-Blades. The songs are bit less edgy hard rock and lean more acoustic and their vocal blend is featured at the forefront of these songs. The 1st album from 1995 is titled Hallucination. I would classify it as Americana maybe, as the songs have a down home feel and are reflective of their youth and life experiences. Try "Blue Continental" for a taste of what this album has to offer. I enjoyed their 2nd album from 2007 even more. Aptly titled Influence, it includes cover versions of songs from artists that were influential to them. Again, it stays pretty mellow and continues to lean more acoustic and straight ahead rock. As Jack and Tommy would no doubt say themselves, the covers can't and shouldn't replace the originals, nor is it the intent. It is clear that the guys are taking this seriously and treating these songs with the utmost reverence because of how important they are to them. As a result these versions are definitely worthy of a listen and appreciation even if only to hear these classics performed with this very special, magical vocal combination. I'm hooked from track one Summer Breeze. They're all good and other standouts for me are: Your Move, Lucky Man, and California Dreamin’. Hope you'll decide to check them out even if just for yourself. The problem for Damn Yankees was all about timing. They hit in the late 80’s/early 90s when hard rock and metal were on the outs and grunge and hip hop were becoming king. Labels were dropping support for anything that could be me remotely associated with hair metal and thus unfortunately for us all the Damn Yankees were short-lived. ❤ Great reaction, loved it, now do more Damn Yankees damn-it!: High Enough, Where You Going Now, Coming of Age, Mystified, Runaway, Tell Me How You Want It, Silence is Broken, Someone to Believe, Bad Reputation, Don’t Tread On Me
Shaw-Blades is a great collab. Very Tom Petty and Bob Dylan like - in fact very similar to the entire Travelling Wilburys group.
Thank you for your comment. Hope to see you on my LIVE stream in 1 hour?
Hard to go wrong with anything that Tommy Shaw has done... fantastic musician, vocalist and songwriter. Highly recommend the Shaw/Blades album he did with Jack when they just couldn't get a 3rd Damn Yankees album together, but also Tommys work with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra is also fantastic, of which there is a great DVD and also some on UA-cam.
Oh yeah, there is a video of a slowed down version of Blue Collar Man with the kids in the orchestra and choir that Maggie would LOVE. It really shows off Tommy's gorgeous voice!
@@dawns.427 They definitely came up with some really great arrangements to use with Tommy and the orchestra. Absolutely love the version of "Man In The Wilderness" that they do on the DVD/BluRay, just so good.
LOVE. Tommy Shaw... Just love him.
Hit me in the feels watching you react and love this.
THIS is the 80s baby! Enjoy the ride - Gen Xer
Extreme "more than words" or REO Speedwagon "Time for me to fly". Rock at its best!!
Ridin the Storm out.
One of my all time favorite songs, you felt exactly like I felt when I first heard it. Love your reaction!
I found it interesting that Maggie was reacting to a Damn Yankees song, and it had a group photo of Bon Jovi as the thumbnail
First thing I noticed! 😂
Jerry! Excellent excellent song brother 🙏🏻
THE ultimate SUPERGROUP🤟
It's great to see these type of reactions , to the kind of music, all of us from the 80's already knew & loved!
Rocker Maggie is DEFINITELY one of my favorite Maggie’s. 🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸 But that picture at the end is definitely Bon Jovi 😂 But we still love ya
Ahh the memories, really pokes my heart ...😢😃...what a era to be a teen.
So good to see younger folks understanding why we LOVE this era in m7sic....thank you.
Night Ranger is always on tour, playing their songs as well as Damn Yankees.
I don't do opera but I think it's pretty cool that an opera singer likes this song from Damn Yankees. One of the best bands in rock music history performing one of their best songs. You're absolutely right about vocals. There just doesn't seem to be bands like Damn Yankees around in present times. I hope you'll listen to and enjoy more of their music.
Winery Dogs ?
A group of genuinely talented professionals at the top of their game, just showing off. :)
It's just absolutely beautiful!
man, i havent thought about this band in so long, saw them in concert way back in the day.. such a great band.
One of my absolute all time favorite songs, I'm so glad you enjoy it as well. 😊
You witnessed one of the greatest songs from one of the greatest bands ever.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man, I hadn't heard this song in a LONG time...I had almost forgotten how much I truly loved these guys. Not every song was a winner, but when they struck gold, oh my gosh, it was a friggin' monumental moment.
You need to listen to the Damn Yankees song, "High Enough". It's gorgeous!
Rocking reaction Maggie! 🤘❤️🔥It was funny how this reaction got you to say damn several times in a row.😆
LOL! Oy!!😂🤣😜
They ALL can sing is what made them great...drummer has chops too!!!!
TOTALLY underrated band! And these guys slay the singing and harmonies! Can’t go wrong with anything from this first album. Yes, also, the photo you have is Bon Jovi.
I would listen to this band when they first appeared. I more recently rediscovered them and I agree with you. This band brought back some memories for me as well..Like it was yesterday
Damn Yankees were such a great band, a mix of greats from other bands. They put out 2 Albums which both were awesome!! Unfortunately when they started recording there 3rd Album it was at the time that Hair Bands were on the decline Their record label actually paid them $1,000,000 not to record the 3rd album. There have been talks about a reunion but I don't know if that will happen.
This is one of those FANTASTIC songs where you wish that acoustic part at the beginning was another 30 seconds longer, then the ending would be that long as well! Lol
you've been living under a rock not to know who these people are! ;)
There’s a good reason that they’re called a supergroup!! It’s like taking the best and creating this sound!! I love everything that they’ve done! They’re amazing!! Oh and so is Bon Jovi but that’s a different video!! 😂
All four were quite talented vocalists on top of their obvious instrumental abilities… not to mention Tommy and Jack harmonize together so well they often wind up opening up all kinds of doors into different overtone series
Tommy Shaw is just freaking ALL there is to it...BLESSED! I was able to meet him once and I said to him, "Man, if I had one wish it would be to sing like 'Tommy Shaw'. He very straight forwardly look me square in the eye and said, "All you have to do it practice." Whoaa
Where the HELL did this GREAT Music go? Bring it back!... DY is the highest Talent assembled Rock Band of ALL TIME! The Cream of the Rock Crop all came together for a legendary period. Bring them BACK! You GOT GOOD TASTE GIRL! 👍
Lead singer is Tommy Shaw formerly of STYX. He’s awesome. Guitarist is Ted Nugent.
that Ted Nugent look where you said he's representing your face....that is just so damn classic Ted Nugent. My first concert was in 1979....Ted Nugent, at the New Haven Coliseum in New Haven, Connecticut.
Love the multiple "jaw drops".
Whats really special is these guys dont even read or write music its like it just flows through them pure natural talent found what they loved early in life and 100% pursued that for years just figured it out Tommy Shaw has talked about how his teachers in elementary school had him going classroom to classroom performing in Montgomery AL.Such a humble down to earth guy who didn't really have a choice but knew when was a kid he was going to do what he loved the most pure raw talent and years of practice
Say what you want about ted but he killed that solo
So if you enjoy listening to those harmonies Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades released a couple albums after Damn Yankees split under the band Shaw/Blades. Check them out.
I got 2 Album from this Band at home - Come Again , is on the First Album from 1990-
And they did it live just as good
First concert I ever went to was Cheap Trick opening up for Night Ranger!! Still one of the best shows ever!! Yes, I’m that old. 😂
I remember going to see Night Ranger open for Whitesnake, so I guess that makes me a little older than you.
Album was released when I was a freshman in college at Plattsburgh State. Drove a lot of icy roads with the cassette tape blasting from the speakers in my 67 Chevy pickup. I have the CD in the stereo at my steel fabrication shop at this very moment.
Wow! Okay, so there is so much of this music out there I love love love love love your reaction to this video so authentic and real and amazing feedback on the qualities of the voice and the music we need more of you with this music!
Thank you so much! Hope to see you tonight?
That picture you were using is BonJovi. I love the song High Enough by Damn Yankees! Love Tommy Shaw!
Lead Singer is Tommy Shaw of STYX Fame look into them Guy singing Harmonies is Jack Blades of Nightranger look into them
Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Michael Cartoloni drums, and Ted "fkn" Nugent on guitar.
Subscribed because of how excited you got in this blind reaction to hairband royalty. One of my all time favorite groups. I appreciate someone of your vocal caliber throwing down and appreciating great talent that learned their craft in the trenches. Subscribed and following. ❤
Awesome! Thank you! 🤗
Love everyone in Damn Yankees! Saw Jack Blades with Night Ranger in July, 2022-fantastic, energetic show. Everybody should see Night ranger live at least once. Hope to see Tommy Shaw with Styx in the coming year. Thanks for the review.
ITS TOMMY SHAW!!! That’s all you need to know!!
This is why they call it a 'super group'. My only wish is that they had recorded more than 2 albums.
Shaw and Blades did go on to record a couple as a duet though... Shaw Blades (for anyone who doesn't know). :)
Great song... and great reaction!
Thanks so much! 🤗💟
Tommy Shaw is one of the best vocalist there is. And even after Decades in the music industry, He still has the voice of a Angel.
Great reaction!! Best Damn Group!!!! ❤
Loved these guys performing together!
Saw them twice. All still active I think. We need a reunion.
LITERALLY! have this cd in my truck player so many great songs
One of my favorite songs ever.
Its the 80's 90's America was wild . Artists last STAND!!!
Great reaction. I think you need to do a few more Damn Yankees.
Listen to Mr Big "JUST TAKE MY HEART" another great song with another fantastic singer!!
Tommy Shaw , lead singer also a member of the band Styx, Jack Blades bass player also with the another very popular band called Night Ranger, then the lead guitar is t h e very famous Ted Nugent, the drums is Michael Cartelloni. Not sure what other band(s) he played with.
FYI - your thumbnail is that of BON JOVI 😂😂
My favorite of their songs - you should also check out "High Enough" which is more power ballad but still amazing !!
Tommy Shaw is both an amazing singer and an amazing guitarist and anything he does is gold.
I listened to a lot of Styx while commuting back-and-forth to Uni. I also listened to this CD quite a bit because it’s very good and back then it was either the radio, cassette, or CD. So I have an awful lot of cassettes and CDs lol
They had two albums one called Damn Yankees and other Damn Yankees don't tread on me every song on both of them is really good so you can't go wrong reacting to any of them
I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but I think you'd like their song "Where You Goin Now?"
No .kidding. I know where I'm going. And I know where I been. It's an awesome song. I think I'll listen to it to start my morning! 😊 lol. Joe
