The reason why there is no Harmonization is because Today has No Talent I’m old school like Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades and so many others who would remember Styx, Night Ranger and Damn Yankees and many other Awesome musicians I’ve had my fun doing just this, no harmony, no band
Tommy hasn't lost a step through the decades. Unbelievable vocal abilities.... and "High Enough" .. one of the best "rock" symphonies ever. He and Jack are both class acts, and very underrated. Awesome vid. AJ
Tommy Shaw STILL has the vocal range he had when he was young. This guy is fantastic. He reminds me of Brad Delp of Boston - Men with this kind of vocal range are so rare. LOVE THIS SONG and Jack Blades too. :)
@@AndreVlaamsValle Delp couldn't approach those notes often either. Go look at a live clip of "More Than A Feeling". He cheats nearly every time. He was always far better in the studio than live. Still, no slouch to be sure but the really high stuff was purely a studio thing. By the last few years, there was another female singer and later a guy doing the stuff he couldn't do anymore.
Love this ! Tommy is on a league by himself . Their voices mesh so well together . Love Night Ranger , Styx , Damn Yankees and Shaw Blades . Just great musicians
You know some people just have that voice that you’ll never forget and you’ll always know it when you hear it. Tommy definitely has that voice, and he still has it to this day.❤❤
It's crazy that the Damn Yankees had Ted, Jack, and Tommy. All three of them more than capable of playing incredible guitar solos. I definitely feel like this song and Come Again were peak Yankees
Okay ... This is one of my most favorite tunes from Damn Yankees days. Dang Tommy, you & Jack still got the chops to harmonize with one another beautifully! Your voice is SPOT ON! I have followed your music since I was in the Army, in 1977! What I love the most 'bout the unplugged performance, are the NATURAL acoustic guitars and voices. Like singin' 'round the campfire! You're an inspiration to anyone wanting to play/sing music,young/old! Keep writin', singin', playin' & ROCKIN' Tommy!:)
After this Tommy's guitar was 35 and ready to settle down! .. he was long before my time though I knew he was great but, very...very ...very few people in history are that good. AMAZING.
I remember growing up. In the backseat driving with my family and this song came on the radio and my dad asked who sings this? And I loudly said Damm Yankees and my mom turned around and said your grounded and I responded why? And she said. Cuz you said Dam! And I responded. That’s the name of the band !! Lol. I’m 50 now and I still laugh about that That was a time when cursing was not good at all and today that is lacking in all families Love this song
Two of the best from some of the greatest rock bands of the 80s came together with the wildman and the damn Yankees were born . This band never got the love it deserved
There are so many bigger bands that have members, especially vocalists that have stayed too long at the party. These two and their respective bands still sound great. See them if you get the chance.
Love this song! These guys sound great! Jon bon jovi, Stephan Pearcy , Mark slaughter , Vince Neil, Paul Stanley all should have retired years ago from performing live! Who am I missing from that list?
Boy, have they come close. I'm pretty sure I saw Night Ranger and Styx together at a concert in the mid 90s (with REO Speedwagen), but I went to a lot of shows like that, so it's hard to remember for sure. I know I've seen all of these bands more than once, though. Except Damn Yankees. They are kind of the wild card because they never officially broke up, but they don't really make music anymore either. I figured Ted would be the tricky one, but he played with Night Ranger recently. So did Dennis DeYoung. Dennis DeYoung with Night Ranger playing the music of Styx. Man, it's all so confusing!
You know what I love about most 70s & 80s rock musicians? Great, timeless music that is way better than most people realize until they get some patina on them. It's like the first time you heard the Beatles and noticed how catchy the tunes were without realizing how much great musicianship went into making them sound both brilliant and simple at the same time. Then, you picked up a guitar and went, Whoa. So many seriously talented musicians from my youth. You Millennials have a long way to go to catching up with guys like Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades.
I met and had a few moments to talk to Tommy after he performed a short spontaneous concert for a local radio station near where I worked at the time. He was super nice to stop and talk to me in the light rain and sign a shirt for me. He loves & appreciates fans. Told me to make sure I made the Damn Yankees in a few months, and I did for the second time.
Ted was smart enough to get up with theses guys, he isn't a idiot people. I articulacy love his leads with the Damn Yankees. It showed a different side of his guitar playing in which was amazing/awesome!!
Love this song love the performance!!! Saw Tommy with Styx last year close enough to touch :) he still has the purest voice and is so talented beyond words!
Tommy Shaw in Chicago IL with Dennis DeYoung working on The Grand Illusion. My ex BF friends with the band. Got to watch them rehearse. Freaking awesome 😍💋❣️
The overlapping voices really do a lot. It's a great combination. They play their guitars like they sing and it amounts to an incredibly unique sound... an incredible sound. The guys stage left and right do the most work and they do it extremely well, but the guy in back brings something to the song that just wouldn't be there without him. This piece is fantastic.
In my country (Mexico) there is not music like this, people only hear fuckin' reggaeton and pop music, there is no good singers and much less artists like this two guys, so I'm very glad to hear Shaw Blades right now, this song like me too much since i've heard for the first time in 2004. Tommy Shaw has a great high voice and I would like to sing like him and Jack Blades is the perfect complement, thank you!!
Tommy Shaw is just a ball of talent. I've been following this kid since Styx took him in, and I've seen his entire career. I know him so well I can mimic his voice. You could barely tell us apart. Almost every note? I said almost! He hits a lot of notes most men can't! He's just a sheer talent. The man has a gift. And he used it for the betterment of mankind. Love Tommy Shaw! Just amazing! JW
Tommy Shaw has long had one of my favorite voices in rock! Been a fan of his going back to the late 70s early 80s with Styx. And he just seems better now than ever.
Fantastic Version of a great Song. Love Tommys highpitched Voice. Great Singing, great playing, great Musicianship. These Guys enjoy Music and so do i!
Tommy Shaw, the only vocalist ever to make me cover my ears in concert! Such piercing range and power, the Damn Yankees in Fresno a lifetime ago, I still consider it one of the best concerts I have seen and I have seen a lot!
Tommy Shaw, much like another 80's rocker, Sammy Hagar, has a voice that is still as good as, if not better than it was in his heyday. In fact I am more impressed with what he and Sammy do now than I was with what they did then. Simply incredible.
I don't want to hear about it anymore, It's a shame I've got to live without you anymore. There's a fire in my heart, A pounding in my brain, it's driving me crazy. Don't say goodnight, Say you're gonna stay forever, Oh, whoa, all the way. Can you take me high enough to fly me over yesterday? Can you take me high enough? It's never over and yesterday's just a memory, Yesterday's just a memory. And I don't want to live without you anymore. Can't you see I'm in misery? And you know for sure I would live and die for you And I'd know just what to do when you call me baby. Don't say goodbye Say you're gonna stay forever, Oh, whoa, all the way. Not any auto tune, no sampling, no computers... just guys playing and singing. True, honest music.
Tommy Shaw's voice will never go out. He's incredible. Pairs up nicely with Jack Blades.
By itself it's like chewing on aluminum foil.
This, kids, is REAL music. Real talent. Real musicians.
You bet!! Damn Yankees & Styx!!
@@lawlisrnstix and night ranger
Indeed
You sure got that right!❤❤❤
Tommy Shaw is a great vocalist and guitar player. He and Jack Blades are great together.
This is what vocal harmonization is all about.. Something that seems to be lacking in today's music.. This is how it's done
Yeah, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are on the same league too, amazing harmonization
This is simply brilliant 🤩
The reason why there is no Harmonization is because Today has No Talent
I’m old school like Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades and so many others who would remember Styx, Night Ranger and Damn Yankees and many other Awesome musicians
I’ve had my fun doing just this, no harmony, no band
Tommy Shaw is incredible… Jack Blades is amazing and I hope they live and sing forever

Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades just sound so good together.
Jack Blades remains the only rock star I have ever met..... at a Little League game. Nice guy!
Tommy Shaw STILL has the vocal range he had when he was young. This guy is fantastic. He reminds me of Brad Delp of Boston - Men with this kind of vocal range are so rare. LOVE THIS SONG and Jack Blades too. :)
Great guy in Delp to compare him to.
Delp reached highs I believe Shaw can't get close to. Delp was the Mariah Carey of arena rock :D

I luv his voice.
Love this ! Tommy is on a league by himself . Their voices mesh so well together .
Love Night Ranger , Styx , Damn Yankees and Shaw Blades . Just great musicians
One of the greatest songs ever made - an absolute masterpiece!
They still sound so good together . Still love it in 2020
Why do people never seem to mention Tommy when talking about great guitar players? He is such a musical player. Great singer, writer, player, showman.
XDrummerSteve doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves
Hear Hear. You are 110% correct! His musicianship is sublime
Tommy Shaw is amazing!
Cause he is good at everything
He's too often overlooked.
2023 -- still great!
In case you didn't know...Tommy Shaw is a phenomenal guitar player!!!! LEGENDDDDD....
Completamente!!
now i’m re-addicted to this song after 29 or so years
The vocals are top notch.
Like a fine wine. Shaw and Blades just get better with age. And no auto-tune!
Love this mans voice and he can still sing it just like he always has! Tommy Shaw so incredibly talented❤️!
Nuge is by far the best guitarist of the three.
Tommy Shaw one of the greatest of all time.
I absolutely love listening to Tommy Shaw & his side kick Blades. What voices! Just pure Harmony. 🎶🎼🎤
Tommy finally looks old enough to drink
😂
Flawless, seriously this is what is missing in music, harmony, musicians sharing their craft live. This is what real musicianship looks like.
Miss the 1990s. They don't make songs like this nowadays.....
Tommy is my favorite singer/songwriter/guitarist period. On top of that he's smokin' hot and has the best hair!
Shaw n blades phenomenal vocalist and guitar 🎸🎸🎸🎸 players
easily mesmerizing. Seeing two pros flex their talent...amazing!
He spake thus, "Ye shall be called Blades. Ye shall be called Shaw. And ye shall rock." And it was so.
Can I get an Amen?!? Yesterdayz just a memory...
Youngsters of today knoweth not of the Royalty in which they were just lay witness to.
ROCK GODS
So so agree!!!!
Totally nailed the vocal harmonies. Damn impressive.
LOL ! Those damn Yankees.
Fuckin' A!!!
here thinking the same
Two of my most favorite men in rock!! Wouldn't a DAMN YANKEES reunion be fun!!!
Tommy is such a world class harmonizer”. All those years with DDY. Perfect high high tone whatever u call it voices.
Tommy Effing Shaw.... that's all you need to know.
Definately, Shaw is the real f'ing deal
luv jack blades!!

@Phoenix Grey your opinion, but i think both need each other and work great!!!

This is awesome and they can still sing like this today.
Fantastic music, was a pleasure working their security back in the day, great guys!
This is pure spine tingling music at its very very best
I was here for this...It was so great...THANKS, BOB
These two guy voices complement each other quite well. I've always thought so every since I saw the Damn Yankees live in Louisville, Ky. in 1993.
Remember of 90's memory
Impresionante que calidad x dios ,esto es musica señores , 80 ' 90 la mejor epoca de la musica para mi ❤❤❤❤

We don't need to talk about it anymore.
Yesterday's just a memory; can we close the door?
I just made one mistake,
I didn't know what to say when you called me baby.
Don't say goodnight,
Say you're gonna stay forever,
Oh, whoa, all the way.
Can you take me high enough
to fly me over yesterday?
Can you take me high enough?
It's never over and yesterday's just a memory,
Yesterday's just a memory.
And I don't want to live without you anymore.
Can't you see I'm in misery?
And you know for sure

Say you're gonna stay forever,
Oh, whoa, all the way.
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over yesterday?
Can you take me high enough?
It's never over and yesterday's just a memory.
I was running
I was running for the door
The next thing I remember
I was running back for more
Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Don't say goodbye
Say you're gonna stay forever,
Oh, whoa, all the way, all the way,
Come all the way, yeah.
Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over yesterday?
Can you take me high enough?
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Can you take me high enough
Won't you fly me over yesterday?
Can you take me high enough?
It's never over, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
