My mother had this album on tape. This is one of my favorites. Tommy Shaw's vocals and Ted's guitar solo give me chills and brings me back to those long drives down US 41
I saw them live on this tour. They had a big ramp behind the stage. Nugent would run up the ramp to pick up speed and then slide on his knees all the way across the stage, leaning BACKWARDS!! Damn yankees...if a Jeannie gave me 3 wishes...1 would be to see these guys back together....for at least one more album and world...not US but a world tour...that would an epic event in rock and roll.
Every bone of their creativity was laid bare in this song... even left "High Enough" in the dust. The transparent fingerboards during the solos provide a visual hammer, driving every note home. Not many bands out there anymore who can encapsulate an audience so completely into the visceral heart of their song. Amazing doesn't begin to describe this level of performance and creativity.

Just like assholes everyone has one, but you are one green world
God damn Ted can play that axe. Great vocals also. I remember Shaw getting interviewed and he was in awe of Nugent - comes in and finishes his takes like nothing, off the cuff solos.
Yeah no shit man! He recorded stranglehold in one damn take bad ass
Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades, & Uncle Ted......pure awesomeness!!!!!
Tom Halen Ted is one of the best!
Agreed; it doesn't get much better than this!
No
Yes they all kicked ass.
Probably Ted's best solo ever.. LOVE everything about this band from the tight vocals to the proficiency of the instruments
I'm 57 year old former drummer who is all about educating myself with music. First time I heard this I had to go buy it. The music and lyrics totally rock even with the underline of what this song is saying. Our mental health needs to be addressed.
That guitar solo is insane. People hate uncle Ted for his politics (whatever) but that guy can rip a solo like nobody's business.
OH YEAH!!!!
Love his politics bro
Same here Chris! Ted can play that Guitar! I happen to agree with his politics also!!!
Christopher lyons He's a die hard ,red blooded American, who is not afraid to tell his views.
plpgto Ted just shoots straight from the hip. I saw him on Letterman and he was awesome. And the solos he pulls off in this song are legendary.
I just rediscovered the Damn Yankees albums and immediately put them on my playlist. Absolute classics.
Me too!
The 80s was the best music era ever. And Tommy Shawsh voice, Perfection!
Tommy Shaw is fantastic and Ted is incredible. great song. Jack Blades and Michael at the drums make it complete.
Oh my Lord!!! This one is even better than "High Enough"!! Thank you, Damn Yankees!!!
My mother had this album on tape. This is one of my favorites. Tommy Shaw's vocals and Ted's guitar solo give me chills and brings me back to those long drives down US 41
This is a tremendous song. Nugent rips towards the end
👍😆👌Ted Nugent cracks me up! Anyone who can have that much fun stone cold sober is a hero in my book!🤪🤪
No kiddin. put him and mick fleetwood together and I'd pay to see that
He's permafried.
@@leesdroidaccountharbin9665 Sorry lefty. Ted did ZREO drugs. Unlike your parents...
2024 and still rocking real music !
I saw them live on this tour. They had a big ramp behind the stage. Nugent would run up the ramp to pick up speed and then slide on his knees all the way across the stage, leaning BACKWARDS!! He never missed a note! Truly the best live guitar performance I have ever seen. It's been decades, but I can still see it in my head, unforgettable 🙂✌️
Omg!! 2020 and still loving the 80's!!! ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY???
Early 90s
I do! 🤘
F yeah
Best time ever!!!
Yes never stop
This song rocks!!! Ted's solo is just unbelievable .... he had such a presence. But Tommy Shaw .... excellent!
I love Tommy Shaw’s voice it’s so beautiful and He is soooo fine!!
maybe , but Brandi is fine !!
She sure is lol
@Brandie Caldwell You're right on both points!!! I have always loved Tommy Shaw . Great singer, great guitarist and sexy as hell!
I watch him every day! ❤
No, it was not time for a change or to be deemed "stale", THIS is what the music listeners really wanted more albums of.....
I appreciated them and this album when it came out but it really has held up well over the years.
Entire band are such great musicians. Love Jack Blades, bass guitar, who is still really rocking it with Night Ranger. Night Ranger concerts very high energy and worthwhile to see.❤
Damn Yankees was the embodiment of the metal music scene at their pinnacle of success. I met up with Tommy a few years ago when we both happened to be in Nashville, and he's still one of the most down to Earth and personable human beings I've ever met.
this is the best super group combo. so much talent and joy oozing out of everyone without stepping on toes. this is how being in a band should be, i think
i completely agree with you 😁😁
Tcv
Gotta love the nuge!!
Their next album would've been even better!!! Alas...we shall never know. All we can do is celebrate this band, this album, and the songs on it. That will have to do.
