Cool to have a durable, easily stacked/stored case for a "console i play" option, with a "console i rarely use to save lasers/discs" back up stock/refurbed near stock console also. God knows metal is longer lasting, tho the shape was probably much cheaper than trying to shape it like the OG console and having a disc tray and/or ODE option available etc. Theres plenty of more stock-esque plastic options out there for people!

Thinking about your comment that you whished the logo was the iconic orange instead of blue . The case were made in Turkey and the logo was blue in PAL region so for them it's the right color for a Dreamcast, even if i think they should have a option or and RGB LED do the job.
Part of what makes Dreamcast, Dreamcast is the iconic original console and a big part of why I love it. That said I do understand why the DreamCase exists and for that I do find it intriguing. However, as intriguing as the DreamCase is I'll unlikely be getting one mainly for it's lack of GD-Rom support. But maybe that's just me.
@StarshipMythic You are wrong about the PSU. The original PSU is very infamous for malfunctioning, hence why they were even created. Mine kept resetting so I had to replace it and it's been an absolute dream since I did it. Also, with the GDEMU and HDMI mod, the dreamcast is basically perfect. The only thing that could improve it is a better memory manager which is coming out soon with the awesome looking VMU update
@StarshipMythic Explain to me how it's a downgrade? I've heard no one having a problem with the Dreamcast PSU. Can you site a source where this is a problem?
I would have added a filter to that fan slot and made it an intake. As exhaust, it’s gonna suck in dust through all those openings on the case. Case is kinda ugly too imo but I appreciate the thought that went into it
Love TRs products and have the cps cases. Also loved the video tito. Curious why the fan direction is set to exhaust instead of intake? The cracks and slots are definitely enough for exhaust if the intake is forcing air through the unit?
The Dreamcase certainly brings a different flavor, and we aimed for a design that some would see as a modern tribute. We totally understand the passion for the original's iconic look.

6:55 I've never seen a cooling system like that. Maybe, this board is capable of multiple hours, even days in constant work. It's impressive how fine and well finished was the final board of SEGA DC. I accept the fact that SEGA was one of the greatest leaders of the arcade industry. Their hardwares were so impressive... it's a pitty, but understandable, for the way that they missed more time as possible into american market.
It's very nice! But yeah the fact that there's no orange light is a bummer,it was my first thought when I saw the design and also I don't like much the blue they went with it. I feel like gray transparent color would have been so much better. Also it the typo of dreamcase is too big for my liking, since this is a premium product, it should be a bit more subtle and fancy in my opinion (maybe it should be plated or have some chrome coloration to it), heck! the front could be white with the letters in a black chrome (or maybe not). Thing is, that blue remove a bit of that beautiful slick design, I feel white or black would just be better Other than that this is a insane cool mod! I dig the vibe for the rest
It's a neat concept. I like it. But it doesn't feel "premium" to me. Having a bunch of screw heads on the bottom instead of integrated stand-offs, wobbly panels that need to be screwed in a fiddly way, lots of empty space, and removing modem functionality... None of these things are bad for a bespoke, hobbyist kit type deal. But, this doesn't exactly have the polish that consumer grade electronics have. Removing disk capabilities seems like a downgrade when the case is the same size as the original. And it doesn't really have a coherent vision for its aesthetics. Maybe if it tried to blend in with your stereo sound system, or if it looked like a little PC, or if it borrowed some aesthetics from earlier sega consoles. But it just looks a little bland. It's a cool project, but I'm not paying $200 for it. I'd rather get a custom repro shell, or build my own out of acrylic.
Cool SEGA made the first ever Hall Effect controllers, the SEGA Saturn 3D Control Pad made of 'Nights into Dreams', Dreamcast is the second ever in history to use the Hall Effect on a controller, that's 28 & 26 years ago! Behar Bros. the creators of Dreamcast Toro partnered to make the Octopus arcade stick. God bless.
Wow, one of my all time favorite features of the Dreamcast was how substantial the power button is, it’s a real shame that it uses a cheap toggle switch in its place.
Great video as always!! I saw you yalking about the internal VMU. Did you ever look into the VM2 by Dreamware Enterprises? If you ever wanted to make a video about it, I have a spare I wanted to sell for the same price I paid as I accidentally ordered 2. the same colour.
Alright I'm ready to get roasted by the comments. First off, I think the case is good for a Dreamcast that has significant case damage and for one that is going to be used for a GDemu. I do see that some people don't like it because it takes away from the iconic Dreamcast look. I personally don't care for the Dreamcast, it was just something I never personally liked. It was something very obscure, and irrelevant to me. Now I'm not saying that the Dreamcast sucks, Dreamcast fans are well within their rights to not like the Dreamcase design. I personally think that the Dreamcase is a good way to give life to a damaged Dreamcast. I also like how the creators are in the comments looking at feedback, some companies don't care for user inputs. To me the Dreamcase reminds me of the Panasonic GameCube, so I think it's a nice design. Overall good job on the case and feel however you like about it and nice video. 👍

But maybe that's just me.
Took ten minutes to get a reply about a comment thirty seconds in the video. Couldn’t even watch the whole thing. Amazing.
@@aaronjohnmiller I watched it on 2 times speed? (I'm not the only one who does this right?
Very true! I guess I was thinking more recent mods, especially when compared to the attention GameCube has been getting lately.
Case is kinda ugly too imo but I appreciate the thought that went into it
Dreamcast's fan : " I'm super loud "
PS4's fan : " Step aside ! I'm about to take off 🧑✈✈"
Love TRs products and have the cps cases. Also loved the video tito. Curious why the fan direction is set to exhaust instead of intake? The cracks and slots are definitely enough for exhaust if the intake is forcing air through the unit?
Why did they miss such a wonderful opportunity to update the power supply to a USB-C 5v? Without the disk drive it doesn't need 12v anymore.
Saw this one just in time. In the middle of a project I wish I could share with you!
the Blue Logo is for the European models, I owned one.
Yeah not into that look, the OG is so iconic to me but I do love the light up logo..
I like your high quality standart 👌
I love case mods but this one seems to lose the character of the dreamcast
It's based on the Naomi boards design
@@TheBlackbirdiiYeah it does look rather similar. But because it has a plain metal look. It looks more like something from Apple.
The Dreamcase certainly brings a different flavor, and we aimed for a design that some would see as a modern tribute. We totally understand the passion for the original's iconic look.
I suppose you know this but in Europe (PAL) region the dreamcast's logo is blue. Beside this - this mod really looks nice and premium. :)
I did, I’m just a big fan of the orange since that’s what I grew up with 😅 the blue still looks great though 👍
@@MachoNachoProductions , totally understandable ;) I'm still in love with NES games, having in mind my childhood is connected primely with this console and on a later state with Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive 2. Now (20 years since my first Nintendo) I own a bunch of consoles and almost no time to play them :D I guess you are more or less in the same situation :D
Thank you for your video 🤩 Happy New Year and very good health for 2024!
I really like this. I want an n64 like this.
The original dreamcast looks like a 90s Japanese sports car. This case is nice too but idk man... I think I'd keep the og.
That stick looks great
How was there litterally no dust in that Dreamcast? That thing looked brand new! 6:05
Did you order one of those VMU2s, Tito? I have one on order and I'm looking forward to it - backlit VMU! SD card access with multiple VMU cards! etc. Super rad.
I did! Still waiting for mine to arrive too. It definitely looks incredible!
I’m not a big fan of the mod, Dreamcast looks really amazing without being transferred over to the new case.
Looks like a kids first metalshop project.
Thing is, that blue remove a bit of that beautiful slick design, I feel white or black would just be better
Other than that this is a insane cool mod! I dig the vibe for the rest
that case looks great, i am wondering if they are going to offer it in different colors.
I salute your use of metric system
That case looks like a cheap clone of game-tech aluminum case.
Love the channel.. Looking forward to a Sega CD mod 😊
If you put that orange clear tape you use on the inside of the housing under the logo. You might get the dreamcast orange you are looking for.
15:21 Well, at least for us here in PAL land, this is correct. Here, the logo WAS in fact blue instead of orange. 😊😊
Another excellent review, though. Keep it up! 👍
God bless.
I will DEFINITELY be doing one of these!
Wow, one of my all time favorite features of the Dreamcast was how substantial the power button is, it’s a real shame that it uses a cheap toggle switch in its place.
this is sick. makes me want to repurchase an old DC
In all my years watching dreamcast modding videos, i have never seen this type of motherboard. Is this the revision that doesn't play burned games?
I don't understand much about electronics. Not sure why his videos makes me relax
Could be intresting to see how these metal cases are made, for example, do they have a DreamCase Cast?
While I have never played a dreamcast I love the look of the console and this mod makes it look even better!
It looks very sleek. I wonder what dreamcast games are like?
what a beautiful case :)
Great video as always!! I saw you yalking about the internal VMU. Did you ever look into the VM2 by Dreamware Enterprises? If you ever wanted to make a video about it, I have a spare I wanted to sell for the same price I paid as I accidentally ordered 2. the same colour.
Hoqw about the con of losing the disc drive?
Hey Tito, to me the Blue Swirl is iconic to the Dreamcast, as this was the European colour :)
