- This is a short video sharing the easy install process of the Urmosi custom throttle. I was lucky enough to have Robert Urmosi install his product! This is the "Original" throttle and I'll be updating the Raptor with a "Factory" throttle soon. We plan on giving away this red Urmosi Original throttle! I’ll be honest, I never really understood what the point was in having a different thumb throttle until I saw you able to lock it in different positions. Now I want one!
Even without its 3 preset positions I would still run the throttle. Having the ability to lock down the thumb portion in whatever position you want on the shaft is really nice. Plus I actually really like how the textured part feels and the housing looks really good on the bars compared to the factory one 👍

Kinda wondering what this application would be like in real life XC racing situations. I’m afraid of the throttle adjustment moving or something. Any experience with this?

Had a wreck last weekend and definitely considering both as well. The raptor is so responsive in tight trails u almost need this throttle unless u wanna get tired veery fast

That looks like a quality product, but I switch everything to twist so I can have my thumb wrapped around the handlebars ... the Kawasaki Tecate came stock with a twist... different strokes for different folks I guess 🤷 happy trails anyhoo !! Great video

A little pricy but u get what u pay for. I hate my stock 07' Raptor throttle. There's basically a thin spring that makes tension on throttle lever. I'd love to have that almost " on the fly " adjustment !

I wonder if this product would be good for the banshee. Banshee has two carbs. I ditched the stock thumb unit for a twist. Growing up on dirt bikes, I'm standing most of the time.
I've really liked my urmosi throttles. If you're used to a twist though you may not care for the thumb throttle

Does this throttle have a more smoother push then the Honda n yfz throttle. I knoe the Honda n yfz450 throttle have a nice smooth push to it less stress on the thumb is this throttle smooth as those 2?
Most people say these have a very smooth push. I’ve never had any thumb fatigue while using an Urmosi throttle. The other popular option I see people recommending is Honda TRX90 throttles for a smoother push 👌👍

I remember in the '80s that twist throttle conversions were all the rage for ATVs (3 wheelers in those days). Are twist throttles still popular now for quads? I have to ask, because I'm a motorcycle guy and when I ride a quad or a sled, I really don't dig the thumb throttle at all.
Glackand Bold throttles styles definitely come down to personal preference. I know there’s a handful of guys who run twist throttles on quads but the majority of people I see are running a thumb throttle. As long as your comfortable that’s all that matters 👍
Did you have to add the cable shortener adapter or did your factory cable adjust enough without it? Reason I ask is I bought the factory model using your diiscount "Thanks by the way" and didnt order the extra adapter
You can set the cable up like i did on Pete ride. If you do that then you don't need the cable adapter

David Johnson I’ve got a banshee and I’m just curious what a better than stock option is but is also cheap
@@Lil_Lowered_TDI , The honda throttles are working good for me. You can pick one up from ebay from 25 to 30 bucks. The last ones that i grabbed where from a 400EX. You do have to shave down the inside limiter to allow the carbs to open fully.

@@Ralleballe71 I dont have the answer to that. I am sure it can atleast mount to the bars, but the throttle cable might be an issue. I am fairly certain it can work on quads that have top pull cabs.
@@Ralleballe71 if you have bigger carbs like 39mm or bigger, the Honda throttle doesn’t work, something to keep in mind.

Been looking at this throttle for a bit, thanks for the discount, just bought one for my 2007 raptor 700r se. Would it be possible to have a comparison between the factory edition and original?
Ernesto Castillon I’m going to be updating mine with the factory model soon. He just finished his first production run of the factory in Red. When it arrives I can do a short comparison. The factory model is made of a higher quality aluminum, has 4 thumb lever locking screws instead of 2, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

PH Outdoors 450’s are a lot of fun but they don’t like a ton of hours. If you want easy maintenance and even longer reliability you may want to go the 400 route. Otherwise a raptor 700 is perfect for ditch riding. It loves the higher speeds and has tons of torque for ditch wheelies! Ditch riding was one of the main reasons I picked the Raptor. A 450 would work fine but it may need top end work sooner than other models👍
Thanks pete my brother actually has a 09 yfz 450r and it rips. Not quite ready for all the torque the 700 puts out. I know it’s comparable to a 450s hp but ya a 400 ex will definitely be one of my top picks Thanks

Arriel Hernandez I pretty much shared everything. It’s a very simple product to install. It comes with a great instruction booklet. This is a just a overview on installation and the product itself 👍

How does the throttle fell with the actual lever being metal and not a seal over it to give some padding
I actually prefer the textured feel of the metal thumb portion. I didn't mind the little rubber part on the factory throttle but to my surprise I liked the feel of this more 😅
You could easily add that rubber stuff if you want on the thumb actuator
I recently bought a "magura" hydraulic clutch for my yfz. I sugest you try it. I onlt have 4 or 5 rides on it so far but as long as it doesnt blow out I'll never go back to a cable again.
Michael Horning my old KTM came with a magura hydraulic clutch. It was super smooth. I actually don’t mind the cable clutch clutch set up. Maybe someday that conversion will be done but I have a lot of other parts to get first 👍
@@PeteHager ok. How well did it last? It seems to be a quality setup. I had to replace the whole clutch assembly. I chose a wiseco setup. I went with the hydraulic setup because i kept breaking cables after i changed the clutch springs.
Michael Horning I had upwards to 300 hours on that clutch and never had any issues on the KTM. I did go through 2 top ends and 2 bottom ends in that time tho😅🤦♂️

Why don’t people put a thumb throttles on cruisers or street bikes ?
I would assume it's because it would be too thumb fatiguing since they tend to ride at more consistent speeds. A lot of desert and endurance atv riders run a twist throttle for that reason because they're riding for many hours at a time 👍

Is there a difference between the factory edition and original on your website?
The Factory Edition throttle comes with a lifetime warranty, it's made from a higher grade aluminum, and it has extra locking screws on the throttle shaft. It's definitely more racing focused. If your just a regular rec rider like me then the original throttle should work just fine! 😊

Yes it should. Pretty much any machine with a conventional throttle cable can be hooked up to it 👍

Anodized purple?
I know they had done more custom colors in the past but they recently changed to diamondyze coating. Apparently it’s a more durable form of anodizing and is a bit more expensive. They do have leftover non threaded throttles for can-am, Kawasaki, Suzuki in gold or pink. It would be best to call if your curious about any colors aside from blue, red, or black👍
