    Always make sure to oil your chain before each ride, this prevents stiff chains and maybe even a snapped chain, Just go to your local walmart or something, and get chain wax, what we do is we put our raptors up on blocks, put it in gear and spray the chain

    I just came back from a muddy ride today and I have to wait a couple days till I have a day off to clean it. It usually takes 2 hours for me to clean my 2006 LTZ400. I hate washing the tires.
    I use a Muffler Exhaust Wash Plug when washing and storing.
    It's funny how I just sat down to drink a beer and this video came up on my feed.

    Nice quad! It sure pays to keep one clean. Here in Kentucky where I live we have clay dirt. Once that stuff drys on a machine it’s almost impossible to get the residue/film that the clay dirt leaves behind off.

    What about airfilter, shouldn't be left in while washing as it easily can let water in. I like to take out my filter and soak it in cleaner before washing then post-wash clean oil it and clean the airbox.

    • @PeteHager
      @PeteHager  4 роки тому

      Classical Cubing that’s a good idea. Now that I have an open topped air box I’m pretty careful not to spray high pressure real close to the seat seal. I wash my air filter pretty much every ride during the regular season. During the winter it lasts a bit longer

      @@PeteHager Alright cool, I also run a open box on my 400x so I pretty much need to clean my filter and box every couple rides since here in North Texas is super dusty

      Thanks for watching my videos! Thats a good question about the air intake. I've never washed a machine with an exposed intake, I would assume covering it would make the wash easier

      I have the Aplinestar Tech 5's. They're still on the lower cost side when comparing boots but I really like them. I would maybe try the Tech 7's next time but these boots still have a lot of life in them

      Spider Graphix made them for me. I told the what colors and logos I wanted and they made me several different examples until we narrowed it down. They have a huge presence in the GNCC world so they're supposed to be pretty durable, so far they're holding up nicely!

    Do you spray any chemicals in the metal areas after washing to prevent rusting of any water that maybe left behind? Especially in those tight little creases.
