It's refreshing to hear someone explain repairs without skipping a beat on who to DIY. I find myself wanting a twist throttle as well. I think it's more efficient and safer than the thumb throttle. Thanks for sharing.

I like the laugh when you first give it some gas with the twist throttle...that's a gonna have me some fun kind of laugh! I'm a motorcycle rider with Yammi Raptor on the side, never really understood the whole thumb throttle thing...seems like having the strongest digit on your hand griping the bar is probably a good idea. Going to try this conversion soon.

Thanks for this video. I followed it and my twist throttle works great! The only problem is finding the throttle. Out of stock on Amazon. I found it on eBay.

Idk what i did wrong with my first twist throttle I bought... it was kinda clicky and the cable wouldn't return all the way. I tried a couple different ways to fix it and nothing seemed to work. The throttle is setup where it springs back if I push it by hand and it comes like 90% back with the twist throttle but the twist is kinda stiff and I have to manually twist it back then flick the throttle to get it to go all the way back down. I ordered a new one because during all the screwing around I messed up the plastic piece in the grip.
Good job. It was very good and I think it's better, it seems more practical.
Why does my new throttle cable not have a thread for the throttle body tho?

I have one of these on my atv and I've almost killed my self so many times with it cause I give it gas and I slide back and I give it more throttle while trying to hold on in my opinion I like the thumb throttle better

I have a question I bought my Suzuki LTZ 400 it came with the twist throttle I want to convert it back to a thumb I have the throttle but am I going to need a new throttle cable or could I use the one from the twist

Honestly, I never figured out why people get so "TRiGgErED" with twist throttles on a quad? People say it's dangerous for this type riding, or safe for that type of riding. Never had I ever had that issue. A friend, and a lot of people online said wheelies were impossible with a twist? I mean, I did just fine on both 4 and 2 wheels, but I'll admit it's slightly easier with a thumb throttle.

I have, no problems. I will say there are times I wish I had the thumb throttle though, especially going over really rough/rocky trails. It's all preference though

Recently found you looking for reviews on getting a Yamaha raptor. I thought the raptor is only a race quad. (What's your thoughts of having one) I'm glad I found you. If not I was looking into the Yamaha grizzly. any suggestions on quads or what to get and what to stay away from? Greetings from Wisconsin and keep up the videos you gained another sub!
Thanks for the Sub man! The grizzly and the raptor have the same exact engine believe it or not and they're both super reliable. Depending upon what kind of work/riding you're doing the grizzly is way more practical but if you're planning on mostly trail riding or having fun the Raptor might be the way to go. I like the Raptor because it is more sporty and I like having a manual transmission, thanks for watching!

No its just the street legal tires
Nope its +5 inches wider than stock which sort of makes it appear lower and yes I do have street tries which effectively lowers the quad an inch lower because of the smaller tire size

Yeah haha I have + 2.5 inch spacers on each side, its a 2014. I really dislike how narrow the quad is stock, its top heavy and tips fairly easy around corners. The spacers help a ton

LOL you are not done you need to glue that grip to that twist throttle before you install that grip or you will have problems down the road with the grip slipping while you're hauling butt through the trails

How do you figure? Countless dirt and pavement racers, not to mention stunters, don't seem to have a problem wheelying bikes with twist throttles.

Love your videos! UNFORTUNATELY, the Amazon link you provided goes to a conversion kit that does not fit a Raptor 700R. The link you provided goes to a motion Pro 01-2534. In fact, the product picture on Amazon is not the cable they send with the product. I am having such a tough time locating the correct product. This is actually the 3rd twist throttle conversion kit I have ordered over the course of a month. None of them work. Either the exposed cable is too short, the overall cable is too short, or in this case...both are too short. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!!

@@Motoposh I seem to have an issue with the RPMs taking a long time to come down after the twist throttle resets. Did you have this issue? Is it due to the twist throttle just dumping more gas in the carb than the thumb? I know the rotary on the carb is completely resetting when I release...but the RPMs take a solid 3 secs to come down. any thoughts?
Twist grip is okay with mx , but with the extra weight on the front end going downhill and off jumps I wouldn’t recommend it.

The benefit is it's more comfortable to ride with, especially on the street. Its rider preference. I haven't "paid" anything for switching
@@Motoposh well in my opinion it's not a good idea that's all I'm saying. If you ride on the street that's a different story but for off road I can't see how it's better
They make these things called dirt bikes which use this thing called a twist throttle idk if this is foreign language to you but its true and they go off road too wow
go back to dirt bikes if ur gonna ruin a raptor with a fkin pos twist throttle
