Please only send campaigns on the verge of defeat or battles you can't win. Auto resolve wins won't be accepted. Modded campaigns are not currently accepted. Please only send campaigns/battles on large or ultra unit scale. Normal and small unit scale will not be accepted. Not currently accepting Realm of Chaos campaigns/battles.

Magic is honestly overpowered, especially when you combine it with single entities
@@dontgankmebruv7273 yeah, you can blast all aoe spells on those so masses are wiped around them, while they make a blob, and preferably heal them to full after every battle. The main thing is that these kinds of hero amountss are the key to winning every engagement and this is an easy "hero blob + strong spells" army delete
@@ilari90 people also like to ignore buff and debuff spells, making vlad have like 0 melee attack and defense will never not be funny

@@dontgankmebruv7273 I've noticed this as well, but I've had many a time where buff/debuff spells have come in clutch against one man doom stacks like Vlad

Also I love how Legends head voice sometimes becomes straight up sentient

@legendoftotalwar It was my disaster battle and the army in Drycha territory was a bait army so I could attack her out of the settlement with Nemesis Crown and get more movement! Also so she couldn't run out of movement range! Thanks for doing the battle and sorry for the lack of context in the email - I was a bit hungover tbh! :D
pro tip if you want to bait without loosing a whole army you can wither recruit a lord with a shit trait or stand at the edge of their range in regular march so you can just retreat when they attack

Glad to see Bruckner in a battle. He might not be the most powerful hero but man its fun turning on all his buffs and watch him melt single entities and heroes. He also looks super cool.

This was incredible haha Totally unexpected but probably the best advice I've heard from Legend getting you to think of the strengths and weaknesses of both sides in a given situation, sounds so simple but just not something I'd really properly considered like this before. Amazing video as always!

The reason these bazzles are so engaging is the educational aspect of them as ypu explain the recipe to victory and what will work against what won't. This is why I watch to apply in my own games even as a L/VH player myself, of course nowhere near this level of battle experience.

I'm pretty sure the army at 28:13 is a summoned army and the Player was trying to get them killed and ambush Drycha afterwards with Karl Franz
Yes! It was my disaster battle and it was a bait army so I could attack Drycha out of the settlement with Nemesis Crown and get more movement!

Holy fuck another incredible battle. Truely inspiring
One thing I think you sometimes miss is that even if they won't blob into the heroes, just order that hero to attack every unit running near it, if they touch him and start to fight it, it works better at least. But yeah, all I saw at first is to blob all heroes and go balls deep with that sweet 195 WoM. This battle was a lot easier, as there was 90 WoM before first Purple sun, and double that in reserves.
I wonder if the ai would ignore stalk snipe mortars that elspeth can recruit if they were shooting into a blob like this

the AI seems to actually ignore the snipe mortarts, as I had multiple battles againts Skaven, and their Menace Below's never targeted my mortars
@landeler8888 they won't use menace below on units they can't see.
The a.i. would hunt them down. Use war wagons with mortars they also get the stalk snipe traits, same number of entities, damage output, and are way more mobile. I don't remember if they fire whilst moving.

on this particular map i like setting up in the top left corner as the defender, its got a house to split the troops so you can set up two lines of fire that are relatively safe from flanking and have the artillery thin out the troops behind the enemy front line. setting up the heroes at max range distance from your gunners gives enough buffer room to tie up some enemy units to shoot em down and just having magic in general is definitely a bonus.

24:32 As a vampire counts enjoyer I don`t think that crown of command is useless. It`s pretty good to use on summons if you want them to hold longer, and it`s really useful to cheese some winds of death.

I hope they stay with the single unit commanders and heroes for tw:warhammer40k although it obviously causes some balancing issues.
and it´s always the same when u overcast a spell for increased duration it follows murphy´s law and always moves out of the enemies early.
id find this game much more enjoyable to play if the wait times went 2 minutes plus. cheers for the value content

You totally could have utilised the missile units by retreating them to the edge of the map and firing until the enemy close in, but instead you chose to massacre them with magic, but I’m not complaining, it’s more satisfying to watch 😅

Overcasting often seems like the best option but something to consider is the cooldown time is much longer.

@AIHumanMind hes stated it before. I'm just reiterating, although I did not hear him mention it in this particular video. It's useful information for new players who don't know. Magic overcasting is often meant for a good opportunity that only presents itself once, so you want to make the most of it. In this particular case, no matter where or when he casted Purple Sun, it was going to be a worthwhile cast and continually so.
14:40 you can see the empire captain terror route a couple minutes before and just dip from the blob

@@NC-hu6xd iirc Morathi has a similar spell, as well as some dark casters, their versions are bigger and stationary.

Yeah I don't see how this is a disaster, Elspeth on her dragon can basically solo that, short prediction pre watch legend hides all troops and artillery in the woods at map edge with fire at will off. Forms a murder ball of heroes on the ground overcasts 1 million Purple suns into ensuing blob

Why not aim the vortex? Instead of just clicking holding the click and dragging in certain direction makes the vortex move that way at least for a "tick or two" of it's movements

I think because then they would have spread out, and he wanted them to blob as fast as possible. The more time they use to blob, the longer he has to wait to get a good cast of.

Can you hide the artillery and missile units instead or does the AI try to find them?
First you can't hide artillery in forests only behind a large hill. But the main problem is that if you hide your army in the forest then the ai will send out units to go and check all the forests on the map and eventually find you.
You could only do that with mortars and only in Elspeth's faction. She can buy an upgrade that gives them snipe and stalk.

The AI never blobs up like this for me. They always send 1 or 2 Units at a time
what difficulty do you play on? AI behavior is different for different difficulties.
they only blob like this when you only have single entities not if u have anormal army thats why he retreated the units
A lot of the reason he gets the mega blobs he do in this video is the spot he stands in. As he mentions the AI just doenst really know what to do so they end up all pathing up the same hill and get blobbed. If you stand in the open or in the forest the AI will send a few units in to attack and the rest circles you Ive noticed, but if you make the path up a narrow area or a chokehold they just dont calculate the pathing at all, end up in a massive blob and are free for some big magic obliteration

But Legend there is a great artillery mount hillock. if the enemy dosent have artilleries or AoE hier magic.. Are Zombies slow trash spounges..yes. Yes retreating low tier now means less micro needed good point. i would say not usign up rockets preserves balance of power with good morale leadership goon squad.

Because vortex and wind spells are much better casting into blobs and provide more value compared to direct damage small aoe spells

@@comediccomrade5716 I play on VH/VH most of the time. Occasionally I'll throw it on L/VH but I like to keep battle difficulty low because I feel like it throws off reality. I swear the AI just ignores any unit I try to lure them away with and they just always beeline towards the things that matter every single time. With Legend they just go "Oh hur de durp lets just split up and hur dur the match away!"

I do wonder about the player base in so much as what do they do in their campaigns & Battles. I had never played any total war games or any similar RTS type before I brought TWH 1 then 2 because someone I watched was promoting its release. I didn't know any TWH 1/2 content creators or watch any. Likewise, I just played the game and taught myself how the game worked. When I play, a new race to me and gain various achievements I am always surprised at how low the amount is that have such I am talking basic easy things to get for each race. Tells me few ever use or play various races completely or use the race's base mechanics properly. I know there are those out there that do know how to such and do that well. I sometimes stop watching a stream of Legends because of the stupid and inane constant questions he gets. I am a 64-year-old of experience pre 8 bit computing that a friend got me back into gaming 11 years ago. My Jam is single player story driven RPG type games but IMHO TWH2, 3 are awesome in depth and ways to play, I just do not understand why many cannot experiment and try alternate approaches such as exampled here in this video. Unlike Legend, I do not have a pathological fear of Skaven ambushes, I use such to defeat Skaven quickly. SO my point is he uses extreme caution which slows progress in Skaven controlled areas I play openly expansively drawing all ambushes out and weakening all Skaven factions very quickly..two different approaches but reaching the same result.
Never be afraid to fail or experiment, but most of all, have fun doing so.

Thats literally what Warhammer is about fantasy and 40k
Single entities aren't so powerful. A level 1 melee hero will lose against black orcs, depht guard or other hight tier melee units. The AI is simply stupid, that's the fact. No undead lord will ever order all his minion to charge and blob up against a handful of heroes if they got spellcasters with AoE spells.
Making the AI brain dead with these exploits is just a way to Critisize CA for lack of Good AI making Battles Not even Cinematic to begin with so those Babies cant Deal with overly aggressive AI back in Warhammer 2 stay mad and cry some more
I agree Warhammer 2 is a harder game compared to 3
