I tried this and received my starlink system and as soon as I changed my service address to my current location, they sent an email and said that I was would be charged full price.
I'm not able to locate where I could get it. There's no menu-popup after I hover the pointer over the "service address" so I could click on the fake location. I guess Starlink got smart.
Start typing anything into the text box to see the menu popup with the "Select a location on map" option. If you are on mobile, it might not be available on that format.
Hi! Why I can´t to order rent (mieten) Plan in Germany. It´s working in Switzerland, Italy and another Europes country. Why it is not working in Germany?
It's hard to imagine the hardware getting any cheaper than this, it's a great time to buy since you get the latest hardware version at a nice discount. Also, Starlink offers a 30 day refund period. If it doesn't work out like you had hoped, you can get a full refund on your order if you cancel within 30 days.
Yep, that's pretty common. Typically people that need home internet and travel a lot will purchase two units and have two subscriptions. The home one is kept on a Residential plan and stays put. The camping one is on the Roam plan, where billing can be paused for the winter season or if you won't be using it for awhile. If you don't want to purchase two units/subscriptions, you can always use one dish at home and for camping. The simple way is to just subscribe to Roam so you can use it in multiple locations without worrying about it. The cheaper way is to stay on the Residential plan, and update the service address to your campsite right before you head out. And then update it again if you move or when you go back home.
@@StarlinkHardware Great answer! Thank you. The thing about having one dish, which is what I'm considering, is mounting and wiring it on the roof and then having to take it off when you go camping. That sounds like a real hassle...
@Starlink Hardware Great video, and thank you! When purchasing a refurbish kit it makes you pay $120.00 upfront for the monthly residential service as part of the checkout process. In the terms, it also says you have a 30 day trial. Now my question is, I don't plan on not activating or needing this for 3-5 month. I, just want to get this refurbish kit now so I can install it on my rig and then switch to roam when ready to travel. Now as soon as I check out and pay that first month $120.00 charge, is there an option to hold that first month I am ready to use/activate the dish? Wondering what happens to my 30 day trial and my first $120.00 paid at checkout if I don't plan on using it for a few months once it arrives...
Not really because you would have to be able to buy in the US, then wait 90 days to transfer the equipment out of the account. Then you would need to open a new account and activate in the new country. Can’t ship an order outside the country, so the workaround doesn’t really apply in that situation .
I ordered and received a refurbished unit. Plugged it in and it works at my winter home, problem is i am going to summer home in a couple days. Any idea how or when i can Change to roam?
@@StarlinkHardware I might do that, already have a gen2 residential. I have a couple of questions. I plugged in my refurb dish and it works. It is not on my account, and I have not added to my account. I think you get 30 days free, do you know for sure? Also, I assume it will only work here at my AZ address, But in a week I am leaving to goto my summer address in utah, as of right now I can't add the dish to my account and I can't change the address. So I guess I will loose my 30 days free. Kinda wondering if I have a working dish that the service was not canceled on.
Yep, if you purchase the hardware and subscription, you can just immediately cancel the plan. I believe they still charge for the first month minimum (this could have changed, not 100%), but after that you won't be paying monthly. If needed, you would just activate the subscription on the spare dish again and you would be online in about 5-15 minutes.

Every title and thumbnail I put on my videos has to have some degree of a hook, something that peaks your interest and makes you want to watch the video. Of course I wouldn't want it to be misleading, but I feel this video covered the topic in the title in detail.

The app states that if you order from one region and change the address they will bill you the difference. Has anyone tried this?

Of you are forced to pay first month then no. Thats your activation day.

I wouldn’t change to Roam. Instead, update the service address to the summer home right before you leave.

How long did it take for them to ship it and for u to receive it
they fixed that discount loop hole plan
I just checked a random place in western Kansas and you can still buy a refurbished kit there, and ship it anywhere in the US.

Once I receive it I’ll update my plan to roam. Will I need to cancel my plan to start a new one?
