The antenna on the roof of the house doesn't look very stable even though you tightened the screw it still wiggled with your hand, I imagine the whole antenna will dislodge in case of very strong wind and eventually it will hang broken by its cable! What a nightmare is that plastic cheap stuff they are selling us! 😢

I can confirm that the cable he lists in this video works perfect! I bought a different one and it did not work but this one is awesome! I even bought a 10 foot and 20 foot usb-c extension cables. I was able to use one or the other extension cables to get some extra cable length, just couldn’t use both extension cables at the same time.

Bought the Pelican 1470 and it is an extremely tight fit. I would say it actually doesn’t fit. So not sure what the difference is but I’ll have to cut out some padding in order to make this work. If I force it closed it is extremely difficult to open back up. Wonder what I’m doing different?

Would you need phone service to update your location on the mobile app? For example if you're using residential and you're camping in a remote area without phone service, could you still update your address to get starlink to work?

What about buying from another country but activating it in another supported country? asking cause was intending to buy a gen 3 from the US and activate it in a supported country in Africa (they only sell gen 2 here).

Mine got restricted after 5 months of usage, well I’m here because I need a solution as I use starlink allot switched to priority 1TB and it still says restricted what can I do to sort it out ??

I was wondering how well Gen 1 still worked. My Gen 1 regularly got over 150Mbps in Western Colorado. But I now have had 1Gbps fiber for over a year and a half, so my Gen 1 has been unpowered up on the roof for that time.

The challenge in Africa is that, in many countries, governments lack the technical expertise to effectively manage agreements with companies like Starlink. Additionally, corruption is a significant issue; officials often expect bribes to facilitate these agreements. Living in Guinea-Bissau, I believe it will be very difficult for Starlink to secure the necessary approvals. It's unfortunate because the internet here in Bissau is highly unstable, with bandwidth limited to just 4 Mbps, which makes it difficult to work efficiently.
