    Hi David, I just found your channel and am grateful for all the thorough information you provide. I am wondering if you’ve done a video on Bromantane or have thoughts on it? I couldn’t find one, but could’ve missed it. I know Bromantane isn’t considered a “nootropic “ because of the lack of research on healthy populations, but it seems to provide many of the benefits…
    Thank you!!

      L-Glutamine has been reported to help with OCD but I have not seen any evidence that GABA as a supplement will help. You can certainly try it and see if it helps you. Try 30 mg Zinc with Vitamin B6 for hyperactivity.

      Synthetic GABA with niacin has been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier. Or you can use PharmaGABA which is natural and easily gets into your brain.
      This is what I recommend and use for sleep: 400 mg magnesium glycinate, 500 mg Tryptophan, 250 mg PharmaGABA, 500 mg Lemon Balm extract, 400 mg L-Theanine, and 20 40 mg CBD Oil.

    Hey man, I have a question about this, I picked up some gaba after this video and immediately noticed effects. I was recently watching another video about gaba, this man was saying if gaba just supplemental gaba is working, it is most likely because you have a leaking gut/blood brain barrier. Now this is somthing I’ve been told I may have before and never looked into it. Do you have any insight you could offer, and if you know any natural things to help with a leaking gut? I have been doing the tumeric you made a video about too.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  29 днів тому

      Andrew, I thought that was true as well but have since learned that GABA has transporters to take it across the blood-brain barrier. It is a large molecule to it helps to use a BioActive form of GABA like PharmaGABA which is grown on lactobacillus bacteria then harvested. It's the same for that you naturally synthesize in your gut and easily and quickly gets into your brain.

    What about about glycine can it effectively have a positive impact on gaba modulation? Also does everything wich helps with blood circulation automatically correlate with gabaergic activity??

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  Місяць тому

      Studies show GABA boosts blood levels of Human Growth Hormone. Not blood circulation. And Glycine has been shown to increase the production of serotonin in the brain. Not GABA.

    • @degoalas
      @degoalas Місяць тому

      So supplements that boost growth hormone may not boost gaba correct fo example people taking alpha gpc experience insomnia instead ..?
      Also gaba is synthesized from glutamine and it is usually taken early in the day so it is a bit confusing thanks

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  Місяць тому

      It can be confusing. Alpha GPC certainly does not increase GABA. GABA is produced from Glutamate which is made from Glutamine. That is a longer pathway which may be why L-Glutamine doesn't make you sleepy. But PharmaGABA can help with sleep because is very effective in calming you down.

    • @NootropicsExpert

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  Місяць тому

      Pregabalin is structurally similar to GABA but does not bind directly to GABA receptors. Using GABA as a supplement should not have any effect on the way that drug works as far as I can tell when looking at the mechanism of action for each. But that's an educated guess so don't hold me to it. Someone may prove me wrong.
