Hi, just wanted to ask if we are required to upgrade our game version to Premium Deluxe if we get the game on game pass, or is it already included and we don’t have to pay any further? Thanks for the vid!
Thanks I should have mentioned that, The Standard Edition is available with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Aircraft in the higher tier versions will only be available for individual purchase
You get standard version on Game Pass but if you own one of the deluxe versions of FS2020, let's say Premium Deluxe, which I have, you keep your deluxe tier bonuses from 2020 like the Dreamliner in the new version, but don't get any new additions to your deluxe tier that were first introduced with the 2024 version. Seemed fair enough to me. So I can and have flown the Dreamliner and other premium aircraft in the Game Pass PC version of 2024. I have the MS Store version of 2020 but a friend also tried it who owns 2020 PD on Steam and Game Pass 2024 still picked up his extra aircraft.
Thank you, this is very helpful. I am 69 now with 1800+ hours but I got started with MSFS 1.0 back in 1984!!! That caused me to go to the local airport to buy a book on instrument flying. When they asked if I had a pilot's license I said no, I'm flying MSFS 1.0. They had no idea what that was so I showed them. They said, nonsense, let's go up for an exploratory flight. I did, and the rest is history, so to speak. I sold my 1979 C210 over years ago and miss it. Can't wait to try out MSFS 2024. :-) There are OLD PILOTS (me), BOLD PILOTS, BUT NO OLD BOLD PILOTS.
Funny true story about 1984 MSFS 1.0. YOU take off from Chicago lakefront Miegs field and one of the few building was Sears Tower. We were demoing our ATT PC 6300 to invitees Executive at a Miami Beach hotel. The CEO of Sears pulled me aside and asked if I could take of from Miegs field and CRASH INTO HIS OFFICE AT SEARS TOWER! I did and he was thrilled saying he had been trying to do that with MSFS 1.0!
The last sim I flew was Flight Simulator X and it was a ton of fun. My daughter flies a lot, I used to program her exact flight then go to ATC Live and could pickup the real live ATC audio and add to my video. This is the best How To Get Started Video I've seen as far purchasing and the setup, very thorough explanation. Now if I only had a good PC I'd come back here watching these instructions again. Very well done RealSimGer
Live ATC is awesome. There is a new AI ATC thing for sims that is pretty sweet, SayIntentons AI. You can try it for free for 24 hours with this link: sayintentions.ai/join#67477c61dcf46
Old time sinner ( simmer)... and have PPL since 1979..I am excited to see both MSFS 2020 and 2024...come on the scene I still use MSFS 2002 PROFESIONAL EDITION.(great for training..procedures..etc..). Looking forward to getting MSFS 2024 soon.. GreatVideo!! 🐦 ❤ 5:53
This company is great, Nick was so helpful in getting me started with the sim as well as the avionics options they offer. World class service barely scratches the surface of how wonderful my experience was. I can not express how satisfied I am to be their customer. Quality products all around. Anyone should be very confident purchasing their goods. Top notch brand here folks!
Boy, you had me going for a few minutes, until you went the Steam route- I was looking to see what the regular PC-based install was going to be. I pre-ordered MSFS2024 a few days before it released, and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to install it (and I built many PCs and used PCs since the old DOS days!!!). Long story short, it's been a few tears since Prepare3D 4.5 (I'm a private pilot who has used MSFS since those DOS days!) that I've flown, and I came completely in love with the PMDG 737 and 777. But I found days later that PMDG was still having problems with getting their aircraft to 2024, so I asked for a refund and received it. Forward a few months now, and I'm seeing there is some light at the end of the tunnel, but was hoping if I could pre-learn about the install phase of MSFS2024! I've built a brand new PC with top-of-the-line components to get back into flightsim, and I'm dying to get to that point!!!
Thank you so much. for the support you give us. I have been using flight simulators for many years (more than 30 years), and used to fly a real Cirrus SR-22T G3. I currently use MSFS 2020 and XPlain 12, to keep me current and I am thinking of purchasing the new MSFS 2024, but first I would like to know which RSG Hardware is currently working in MSFS 2024 and which are your plans to support them on that platform. My gear is a full cockpit of a Cirrus SR22 G3, G1000 suite, GNC 479, GMA 350, GFC 500, Cirrus Throttle Quadrant (central console), and side stick yoke, all of them from RSG for sure. I really appreciate your information.
We have recently released our MSFS 2024 plugin and so most of our gear works with it. There are a few exceptions, but essentially anything that worked with MSFS2020 is going to work for MSFS2024
Great video, thanks a lot! What is the difference between a single stick and split joystick? Do they both work the same way, or do you need one or the other for specific planes? Would you recommend a single stick or split joystick?
So the split joystick or yoke is more typical of training aircraft like Cessnas, Piper Warrios/Archers/Arrows etc, and even Boeing Aircraft. The single stick style yoke is typical of Diamond, Cirrus, Piper Cubs (many tail wheel aircraft actually), and Airbus aircraft. So just depends on what you think you may want to fly. I prefer the regular yoke (split)
I'm really enjoying VR and wanted to do a flight sim VR. What are your thoughts on the equipment needs if you plan on VR version of MSFS 2024? I'm also a pilot with about 1000 hours in various aircraft from piper, cessna, and was a part owner of a Cirrus SR24. Unfortunately, I haven't flow for almost 5 years now.
Nice! I'd say the Quest 3 is the best right now because you can "cut out" the view of the cockpit in the sim so you can see your controls in the passthrough. For hardware to depends on what plane you're trying to setup. Side stick vs yoke? Push pull throttle vs lever? FMS/PFD/MFD or GPS stack and G5s? So many opportunities there. Check out the starter simulator guide in the description. It'll point you in the right direction
P.S., if I ever get convinced this is working well enough not to ask for a refund, I am for sure going to return to your site for the excellent tips on setting things up, and at some point, purchasing a yoke and controls. I have an old USB Game Controller for MS, and it seems to be working fine, at least to test things out.
Newbie here. I just want to fly around diff cities and see cool stuff. Without flying knowledge, extra gear extra, can I do this? Also, all I have is a macbook air (newer one)
This is so cool. I remember having Flight Simulator on a floppy disk in the 90s. I didn't get far with it, because I had to use the keyboard controls and it was a hassle. I would probably go for the standard pack. However, I need a better computer, as my current laptop has an Intel Core i3 processor. I did think of getting an XBOX, we had an XBOX 360 a few years back that we hardly used and eventually got rid of, but I'm exploring my options. My roommate downloaded MSFS 2024 on his laptop, but I don't know his password. I went for the Logitech flight yoke system, which has the yoke and the throttle. After watching some videos on here, a lot of people hate it and recommend the controller you have or something more expensive. I'm on a budget and I'm not sure how far I will get. I look forward to your other videos.
Nice video, thanks. I'm also a private pilot and have finally gotten 2020 working in VR to my liking. I've been on the fence about 2024 due to all the PC adjustments and tweaking I see on UA-cam. We all went through that for 2020 and I'm really not looking forward to having to go through all that again. Rig: i7-13700k, rtx4070ti, 32gig ram. My question, is 2024 "better" enough than 2020 to justify having to go through all the twerking hoops again. Subjective I know but your opinion is welcomed. Thanks
Hey Jim! So a few things that interest my about the game that 2020 doesn't have are the better flight dynamics, the increase in texture/graphics, the weekly challenges and leader boards, as well as the career mode. Flight Dynamics: I haven't had a chance to do a lot of testing but I'm hoping the flight dynamics of training aircraft are more true to life compared to 2020. For example there should be a drastic drag difference when landing a 172 at 59kts vs 65 kts. Increase texture graphics: This is the appeal of MSFS in general but they added quite a bit of extra detail in the game that makes it that much more fun to fly around. Anything to help keep folks flying is a win. Weekly Challenges: Again, super fun way to see how you measure up against others and keep things interesting Career Mode: Now with this one, I like it that it exists, but I wish it was 1000x more difficult to obtain a pilot certificate. I want to have to grind like in Call Of Duty or Diablo to get certificates, ya know? Like if it made people obtain a certain number of hours flying doing specific tasks. Such as Steep Turns to PPL standards - that would be awesome. Or if there was a test/check ride that it made people do for each certificate where a "DPE" would tell the student what to do in a random order, or at least preload you in the air to have you perform the maneuver to standards. That way if someone shared that they got their commercial certificate - you just know they spent an ungodly amount of time flying. And if the game held people to a high standard - it would actually be something to be proud of. Anyway, my 2 cents. Great game, with a miss on the launch and career mode.
@RealSimGear thanks for the input. I've heard there has been several quick fixes already and a large fix in the very near future. I'm going to jump in and get 24, ride out the tweaking. Thanks again
Thanks for walking me through this as a total noob looking to get his first wings. I'm on low bandwidth at 30mbps but fast hard drive so I guess I'll have rolling cache quite high. My RTX3070 only has 4gb VRAM so the slow internet might be as big an issue as I thought
@@RealSimGear Glad to. But I've since decided to upgrade to full fibre 150 in a few weeks so I might hold off getting the game until then. Turns out it only cost £1 more pm than my current method, lol.
Hey Chance, great video. Best I've found on installing 2024 and setting it up. Question, so please tell me what you think of my system to run the best settings and tell me if I need to upgrade my system. So, i have the Gigabyte E670 ice motherboard, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D CPU, 32gig DDR 5 pc 6400 ram, EVGA GTX 3080 ti video card, Corsair 240mm CPU liquid cooler, 1000W power supply, Samsung Evo 890 2TB M.2 drive. The only thing I think i need to add is another 32gig of memory. But I'll go with what you think i need to upgrade to for me to use ultra settings. Now keep in mind in 2020 even with this setup, i would get plenty of studders especially on approach in the A32NX. Also, last question. I pre purchased 2024 from the Microsoft Store but I have not downloaded it yet or installed it yet as I wanted the bugs to be worked out first. So, i was going to install it after a month or so after release. Please tell me what you think of all this. Thanks
Hey Jim! Thanks for the feedback man! Great PC setup. Like you said another 32gb of ram and I think you'll be good to go. I do wonder how many VRAM gb you have, and what your internet connection is. With all of this being cloud based the internet connection is a must now. And actually even though this is a new game with better graphics, the demand on your PC should be less than 2020. That's because they only load things from the cloud that you actually need / are using. So I'm betting the same appruach in an A32NX will be less laggy than before. Another thing, how many monitors are you running? I notice a drop in frames when trying to run three 4k monitors and that's a graphics card thing
Oh and one more thing that someone from our tech support team mentioned, - "The thing that will hold some performance back on this system is the 3080 Ti, as it will not be able to leverage DLSS 3.0 or Nvidia Frame Gen (which usually doubles the frame rates). That being said, that system will still have a great experience"
I got the aviators edition to get all the airports, having all the aircraft was just a bonus in my decision, thanks for the helpful video, new subscriber.
I’m just starting to buy my setup and I wanted to ask if this pc is good. YEYIAN Phoenix Gaming PC, Intel 14th Gen Core i9 14900KF, GeForce RTX 4070 Super Desktop Computer, 1TB NVMe SSD, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz, Intel Z790 Chipset, 360mm Liquid Cooled, Win 11 VR Ready AI Powered.
It should have zero problem running this game. I would recommend something not Intel 14th gen, those CPUs have a high failure rate. That said, if you bought it, just take care of your PC and try to keep the CPU cooler but believe me, it will be a real power house. If you run a lot of extra programs, upgrade to 64GB of RAM, that's optional imo, 32GB is already good.
Thanks Chase, really helpful. Will the RealSimGear Cirrus GCU alpha-numeric keyboard, which never worked with MSFS2020, now work with MSFS2024? That would be a real step forward.
You installed a new SSD to your Xbox? The new Xbox don't have replaceable SSDs that I know of, besides the ones you plug in to the back of the box, so I'm a bit confused. Regardless, assuming you are talking about a valid storage, yes you can do that. I presume you mean Xbox Series consoles anyway. The Xbox One consoles do not run this game unfortunately.
I have purchased a one month game pass to try MSFS 2024. If after one month I like it, I will purchase the game on either Steam or a PC store bought copy. Regardless of which way I go if I purchase, will I be able to transfer all of the profiles/settings I already have set up in the GamePass version?
The GamePass is through the MS Store. So there may be a disconnect if you buy it through steam. That being said, you need to log into the same account either way. So It may transfer.
@@RealSimGear I'm not that far in to the Game pass MSFS 2024 so decided to just bite the bullet and get the Stream version and will just have one month of Game Pass I wasted money on. Am really looking forward to diving in to MSFS 2024. I did buy the 2020 version through MS for Xbox but have to schedule timeslots through my son! Whose house is this anyway?
Thanks for the breakdown. Much appreciated. So few corporate jets. No Gulfstream? No Falcon? Multiple Citations? What a bust. (The PC24 is junk irl. I don’t want any reminders. It’s hard enough seeing it on the back of my license. It flies ok, love the cargo door, but it’s slow and breaks often with tons of software issues.) I’m sure I’ll still get the game, but base version only. Thanks!
My oh my, I’m sooo confused. LOL I’m a retired corporate pilot with 20k hrs in my book as well as being a AnP mech, so what better way to spend my time and money now, but flying without leaving my house. The issue here is, years ago I went all out Apple/mac. Don’t judge me. Now I need to buy a really good PC, flight controls and oh yeah, MSFS 24. But from what I’m seeing here, it’ll be worth it. Thanks for all the help in showing the difference’s in each version. When I do buy it I’m just going to belly up to the bar, all out. That way I can t say, Oh I wish I had gotten that down the road. Well, thanks for the info, wish me luck!
i am new to flight simulator. I work for Airlines, and learning about APU Breaking ride. would i have assess to a flight deck of 737 and airbus 320 families?
@ like the your G1000 hardware. I have the dual set with the audio control in the center. I’ve been using it for 2020, but have now switched to 2024. I got the message I need to wait for the new drivers.
Does the new version have the option to view out the cockpit window without having to look at the instruments from the game if you have your own homebuilt with instruments. Maybe its operator error, but I never was able to get that view on FS2020, so I ended up using Xplane because it gave me that option. Hopefully I'm explaining it correctly. This was possible on the older versions, but I never was able to figure it out on the 2020.
After messing with the systems and reading through some Reddit threads, I don't have a good answer for this at the moment. From what I read it's possible they'll have an easy solution for this once the next update comes out
I was so excited, i pre-ordered the game and it was launched in the Uk st 4pm downloaded it three times struck at 97%• finally got it to start snd all i got was your in a Q . Frustration turned to anger and i asked for a refund. Don't know if i will bother in the future . As the lucky few to get to play where missing content and missions . Shouldn't have been released as it was far from ready . And being completely cloud based means no internet no play .
Nice walk through except I would have included the steps to move the Community folder. Navigate to the Marketplace and click open My Library. Click on the gear next to Search, browse and select your other drive.
How's the crash tolerance realism? Msfs 2020 tolerated way too hard of landings, which really killed it for me. I want a realistically challenging sim. Does 2024 do better in this regard?
I have the premium deluxe for MSFS 2020, and i'm leaning towards purchasing the Aviator edition for 2024. One question, I heard a rumor from someone in a Facebook group saying it is recommended to buy MSFS 2024 from the same place you purchased MSFS 2020 for addons to easily transfer. Can you confirm if that is true? I purchased MSFS 2020 from the Microsoft store and I will likely purchase MSFS 2024 from the same place.
I purchased it from two different places and they are going to transfer just fine. As long as you use the exact same Microsoft account then you will be fine either way
Quick Question: My nephew is getting the 2024 Premium Deluxe edition for a Christmas gift for his XBox Series X. Are there add-on's for purchase in this edition and if I buy him an X-Box gift card, will that allow him to purchase these add-on's?
thx for the vid i bought msfs2020 thru steam and i had a choice to where i liked to install it first it installed it on my pc and than when i clicked to run the sim it than asked me where would i liked to install it which was my third drive is this the same as msfs2024 have you got a choice on where you like to have it installed
Hmm, I didn't get a choice. After the initial install you can always move the folder location to your third drive. Hopefully it's a SSD or M.2 SSD so it loads really fast. It's only 11GB this time and not 250 lol
I checked and looks like you can't. If you purchase say the deluxe tier, then you would have to purchase each individual aircraft in a higher tier. I'm not sure what those prices are going to be either since the marketplace isn't live yet
Since MSFS doesn't allow for FAA approval, we don't directly support MSFS. They also don't make things easy.. After looking into it there should be a 'code in box'. I believe you can only use this code via the X box store since I'm not sure if you can put the code into Steam.
I was using velocity one setup with msfs2020 and I never liked it felt gimmicky and it always was buggy. What's a better setup for roughly the same price?
The same price would be tough. The honey comb yoke and bravo throttle would be a good combo. Or you can use the Honeycomb yoke and pick a cessna throttle like from Desktop Pilot or something to keep it in that same price range.
Great video. Hey, when do I get my key code? Or how do I get my Key Code bought the flight sim 2024 at the MS Store last night Dec.29, didn't get the Key Code yet? I looked in my email several times I looked in. The store of My Library ? Shows that I own it and I downloaded it and played it? Thanks Any one?
Bought from MS Store, runs via a Microsoft account & Xbox account ...make sure your logged into both. Your MS account is your key to play. Not sure if purchased via Steam but watch n listen to this Video
The Turtle Beach VelocityOne Universal Rudder Pedals do not work on the Xbox when i tryed them. not sure if they work on pc do to i had to send my asus motherboard to get fixed.
@ I thought so to but I tried everything to get them to work. I updated the firmware through my other pc I tried to update them through Xbox and I couldn’t update them without failures so once my motherboard comes through, I’ll just play it on my PC. From what I’ve been hearing online, the game is kind of broken anyway so I’ll wait until they fix it.
There is a lot of gear that works with X box, just not everything. Just make sure when you're looking it says in the description that it works for X box. Here is a couple of options: Turtle Beach: amzn.to/3D0UcCx Thrustmaster Sidestick: amzn.to/3D0UcCx
I know our support guys are working on it as we speak. Join our discord so you can stay up to date, or feel free to ask us in there! discord.gg/GtxbbcDN
Great informative video, I bought through steam but got stuck after the initial download of 11 gigabytes. Then I applied for a refund. After seing now how to proceed I might consider buying again through steam as before. Why is it only 11 and not 50 giga as supposed? STEAM SHOULD RECONSIDER THE INSTALLATION PROCES, TOO CUMBERSOME.
So it's only 11gb because the game is all cloud based now. It's loads in the aircraft and scenary only when you need it which removes demand off of the system.
Great video. I bought through Microsoft store. My biggest problem is something you didn’t address and that is accessing the sim and crash to desktop problems. Yesterday the startup process took 48 minutes. Once in I had a CTD after trying out the EFB in the c172. Had to restart and again the startup took 48 minutes. Totally unacceptable. I only have so much time to devote to this.
Sorry Richard that's got to be frustrating. I know a lot of people are experiencing bugs right now too so hopefully they'll expand the servers to make it better for everyone soon
HELP - NEW PC ARRIVAL TODAY SHOULD I CANCEL TODAY? I have a tech coming today 4:00pm to build a new PC. I wanted to buy MSFS on a disc or something I WOULD OWN. I haven’t watched the full video yet. What do I need for a smooth running MSFS. I hope you can assist me.
The recommended specs are mentioned in the video and in the description but I’d say you should have at least have a 4070 (or really wait until February for a 5070) and also a pretty decent Ryzen 7 or 9. Then definitely a wired connection to the internet

We've just released our new plugin for MSFS2024. This allows for most of our gear to work with the game now! You can download it here: help.realsimgear.com/en/articles/7971505-downloads-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-and-2024
Hey John, yes you can. The process is very similar to MSFS2020. So right alt key and left mouse click. Or you can use pop out manager for 2024. help.realsimgear.com/en/articles/8728724-setting-up-msfs-pop-out-panel-manager
so I like to share my experience with 2024 1. I did purchased 2024 on ms store. installation everything smoodly. sim loading time with 1 gig internet: 25mins 2. graphic. If I use REX AccuSeason Advanced Edition your graphic even will look better than on 2024! 3. performance. both the same. my oppinion: if you own 2020 there is s(still) no reason to switch over to 2024. most things like marketsim or addon aircrafts like pmdg, fenix ie is not possible to transfer it over to 2024 yet. 2024 has been released far to early. there is still a lot of work to do till it will reach level of 2020. I did purchase 2024 (standart) for VFR (VR) and mission only (later who knows) So I recomend if you are 2020 owner, wait for another 3-6 months till everything is rdy to use.
Here is an article that is for MSFS 2020. I'm sure it's the same but I haven't tried it yet support.foreflight.com/hc/en-us/articles/204115275-How-do-I-connect-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-2020-MSFS2020-to-ForeFlight
@@RealSimGear K great..Most of the time we go to class C airports with a K Air, so I like to set up and do the approaches before going to a new airport ahead of time... Do you know if, a joystick can be used with this 2024 addition ?
@RealSimGear thanks for the response! So, if I get it on the Xbox, can I use my 65-inch tv to play it instead of a gaming monitor? Also, in your opinion, is this better than X Plane? What specs are required for a PC to play this simulator?
You shouldn't have to unless you don't have any space from MSFS2020. Now, if you don't ever plan on flying in 2020 anymore I'd recommend uninstalling it as it's around 300gb. You can do this by: 1. Hitting the windows key on your keyboard to bring up the search bar 2. Typing in Add or Remove Programs 3. Search in the installed apps search bar "Microsoft Flight Simulator" 4. Click on the three dots on the right side and hit uninstall
I'm seeing the same thing. Some report only 11gb, others say it's about 50GB once the files decompress. Either way it's still not as bad as almost 300gb like the last game
Hello from an ex private pilot! MSFS 2024 in Steam never fully activate my Packages. After multiple restart, my FS2024 Aviator version (Steam full package) never fully activate all the packages (ex: Aviator download stuck at only 73/106 of the packs) ??? I uninstalled everything and reinstalled fs 2024 with the same result... (Steam remember my previous setup). My specs: i9-12900k, RTX 4070ti, 32 RAM, Internet 200 Gbit/s + Thanks for your reply ! -06L
@@RealSimGear Thanks for asking ! Yes, the support was... a robot (Zendesk) and the last update downloaded all my pacs... now i'm waiting for non melted trees, airports, autogen buildings across all Canada but it run perfectly smooth every where else !!! (i9-12900k, RTX4070ti, 32ram, 250Mbit/s+)
There are some Reddit threads from a month ago saying that career mode has been going in and out for some reason. Unfortunately it seems like you’ll just have to check back later
I would never put a PC with a capabilities of running Graphics like this on the internet. I only use things like tablets and cheap laptop computers to access the internet my real workstations and power computers are offline. So the only way that I would get a game on to those computers is if it came on a DVD ROM. These subscription-based games and programs are just absurd. Just watching all the Hoops you had to jump through just to start the game makes it absolutely discouraging. Not to mention if the internet goes down you're screwed. Everything that I own every piece of software runs offline and was installed offline.
Can you tell me how to log onto american online please? I am so dumb i cant figure it out. You should probably do a video on that since its almost as dumb as this one.
Lol I meant it as a fancy way to say I've been working with flight simulators for the last 3 years. Not that it's taken me 3 years to get the hang of MSFS, but honestly I'm still trying to get the hang of it lol
Completely pointless watch! Dude, you didn't even fly anything? We all know about it's "endless possibilities" but problem everyone has is... Start up, load times.. etc.. I'm staying with 2020.
The aviator pack sucks, all the aircraft are basic as batshit and bland, flat, hardly anything functions in any of them ie INOP. and the AI voice is soo shit. remember all those robot voiced youtube videos eveeyone hates.... yeah ms24 is even worse than that with total cringe audio. I only bought it on microsoft store because it was $50 cheaper but i still paid nearly $300 for aviator edition. I went to paris the other day in sim and tried walking around the eifel tower... it looked like someone had taken a blowtorch to 90% of the scenery and i have 1tb fibre internet. everyone should also be told that you will not be able to fly offline AT aLL very disapointing for flight sim x level scenery mainly.
Old time sinner ( simmer)... and have PPL since 1979..I am excited to see both MSFS 2020 and 2024...come on the scene
I still use MSFS 2002 PROFESIONAL EDITION.(great for training..procedures..etc..).
Looking forward to getting

Thank you very much Larry!
Such great feedback! Thanks so much!!
It's not only different airvraft in the different MSFS 2024 versions it's also different enhanced airports.

1 mil would be insane! Thanks!
@@RealSimGear it would but the sky’s the limit brother!
Exactly! 👊
I'd like to see an airport add-on. Looking for KFUL where I learned to fly.
Love the video thank you
New to flight sim and want to add local Uk airfields. Can you suggest how best to do this?
Best
Michael
I'm guess it will be or maybe already is an add on in the MSFS store
Depends on the specs of your Mac (I'm not a Mac guy), but as long as you get comfortable with the controls of the keyboard than I don't see why not 👍
This is so cool.
Hey thanks Andrew! Yes an upgraded computer is needed to run MSFS. I'd recommend at least an i7/Ryzen 7 and a 4070 GPU.
Flight Dynamics:
I haven't had a chance to do a lot of testing but I'm hoping the flight dynamics of training aircraft are more true to life compared to 2020. For example there should be a drastic drag difference when landing a 172 at 59kts vs 65 kts.
Increase texture graphics:
This is the appeal of MSFS in general but they added quite a bit of extra detail in the game that makes it that much more fun to fly around. Anything to help keep folks flying is a win.
Weekly Challenges:
Again, super fun way to see how you measure up against others and keep things interesting
Career Mode:
Now with this one, I like it that it exists, but I wish it was 1000x more difficult to obtain a pilot certificate.
Let us know how it goes! Would be good in case others have a similar setup. Thanks!
Awesome! You rock!
Question: if I get the premium deluxe version, do I get the standard and the deluxe?
Yes! 👍
@ okay thank you so much
I’m just starting to buy my setup and I wanted to ask if this pc is good.
@ Thanks, appreciate it

Very helpful guide, I intend to buy thru X Box. I have installed a new SSD 1TB HD, when I install can I direct the download to my new HD?
You installed a new SSD to your Xbox? The new Xbox don't have replaceable SSDs that I know of, besides the ones you plug in to the back of the box, so I'm a bit confused. Regardless, assuming you are talking about a valid storage, yes you can do that.
I presume you mean Xbox Series consoles anyway. The Xbox One consoles do not run this game unfortunately.
Yes you can direct the download. It'll ask you where you'd like to download before committing

How's the crash tolerance realism? Msfs 2020 tolerated way too hard of landings, which really killed it for me. I want a realistically challenging sim. Does 2024 do better in this regard?

Can you confirm if that is true? I purchased MSFS 2020 from the Microsoft store and I will likely purchase MSFS 2024 from the same place.

Thanks for your reply, is it the same on ms store? I thought it needed 50 giga.
Great video. I bought through Microsoft store. My biggest problem is something you didn’t address and that is accessing the sim and crash to desktop problems. Which aircraft? Maybe I could take a look and see if it's also on my end
@ I fixed it. The airliners took 3 opens of the game to get working
Can you just use a joy stick ?
Yessir
I have 3 monitors.
Can I pop out the screens to my 2 other monitors?
Hey John, yes you can. The process is very similar to MSFS2020. So right alt key and left mouse click. Or you can use pop out manager for 2024.
help.realsimgear.com/en/articles/8728724-setting-up-msfs-pop-out-panel-manager
so I like to share my experience with 2024
1. I did purchased 2024 on ms store. installation everything smoodly. sim loading time with 1 gig internet: 25mins
I did purchase 2024 (standart) for VFR (VR) and mission only (later who knows)
So I recomend if you are 2020 owner, wait for another 3-6 months till everything is rdy to use.
Great to hear the MS store went smooth. Thanks!
My main menu somehow looks completely different
Can you link a real ipad and connect foreflight to MSFS 2024?
Here is an article that is for MSFS 2020. I'm sure it's the same but I haven't tried it yet support.foreflight.com/hc/en-us/articles/204115275-How-do-I-connect-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-2020-MSFS2020-to-ForeFlight
How many US airports and ILS are there ?
I'm pretty sure it has all of them?
@@RealSimGear K great..Most of the time we go to class C airports with a K Air, so I like to set up and do the approaches before going to a new airport ahead of time...
Do you know if, a joystick can be used with this 2024 addition ?
Do the graphics look the same on the Xbox vs PC?
Depends on the PC on how far you can push the specs. PC will be better on Ultra imo, but Xbox will still be amazing
@RealSimGear thanks for the response! So, if I get it on the Xbox, can I use my 65-inch tv to play it instead of a gaming monitor? Also, in your opinion, is this better than X Plane? What specs are required for a PC to play this simulator?
Must I uninstall FS 2020 before I purchase 2024? if so, how do I uninstall 2020 from my PC?
You shouldn't have to unless you don't have any space from MSFS2020. Now, if you don't ever plan on flying in 2020 anymore I'd recommend uninstalling it as it's around 300gb. You can do this by:
1. Hitting the windows key on your keyboard to bring up the search bar
2. Typing in Add or Remove Programs
3. Search in the installed apps search bar "Microsoft Flight Simulator"
4. Click on the three dots on the right side and hit uninstall
@@RealSimGear Thank you so much! I'll give it a try.
Dan
Any idea how big this game is on Xbox , I'm hearing a lot of funny numbers
Hmm, I haven't emcountered that one before. Have you sent a ticket to their support yet?
@@RealSimGear Thanks for asking ! Yes, the support was... a robot (Zendesk) and the last update downloaded all my pacs... now i'm waiting for non melted trees, airports, autogen buildings across all Canada but it run perfectly smooth every where else !!! (i9-12900k, RTX4070ti, 32ram, 250Mbit/s+)
does the game also work on a gaming laptop
Yes, i have the hp omen 16
Core i9 14900
Graphics card:4080 rtx
240hz
32 gb ram
And its a beast, the graphics are AMAZING and performance too
Boom!👆
That was awesome, Thanks. SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks, Larry!
Not including the standard 172 in the standard package is criminal😂
Haha I agree
do i have to uninstall msfs2020 before installing 2024
No...side by side is fine. but keep 2020 for now until they fix 2024 as shes pretty bugged up

I bought it and I don’t have career…
Why?
There are some Reddit threads from a month ago saying that career mode has been going in and out for some reason. Unfortunately it seems like you’ll just have to check back later
Same i upgraded to aviator edition and no difference.
Waste of $300
I got a refund
Ill just use the standard edition
The standard isn't bad at all!
I still don't have all my aviator edition planes
Huh strange, thanks that's good feedback. I bet they are currently working on it
Purchase Walkthrough
1. Purchase
2.Return
3. Purchase MSFS 2020
4.😊
That's one way to do it!
Make a video. How to get a refund for Microsoft flight simulator 2024. Thanks.
Lol sorry I'm sure if you simply email their customer support they'll refund you
Go to Steam > Library > MSFS2024 > Support > Click on "It's not what I expected"
No good achievements compared to the 2020 one
Hopefully they'll come out with some better ones later
We need the disk series, the online version is garbage.
Yeah would've been nice to have the option
Can you tell me how to log onto american online please? I am so dumb i cant figure it out. You should probably do a video on that since its almost as dumb as this one.
My recommendation ATM...DO NOT BUY...to many problems and bugs. Don't waste your money
fun fact, you don't "own" the game no matter the platform.
Yeahh I don't want to be out here breaking peoples hearts lol
wait whaaa? yur real pilot.. but took u 3yrs to master msfs ?
c'mon rly ? whatumean rly ..?
Lol I meant it as a fancy way to say I've been working with flight simulators for the last 3 years. Not that it's taken me 3 years to get the hang of MSFS, but honestly I'm still trying to get the hang of it lol
Still an absolute mess on the series x
Yeah there should be an update here in a few days addressing a lot of the issues
Completely pointless watch!
Dude, you didn't even fly anything? We all know about it's "endless possibilities" but problem everyone has is...
Start up, load times.. etc..
I'm staying with 2020.
I mean, the video is titled accordingly. The goal is to make more content on the game play down the road
I got a refund. This game is a hot mess
Haha yeah a few bugs right now for sure. I’m sure it’ll get better though!
Just give it some time no need to refund it’s gonna be great in a week or two bruh
@@Monkey-master22atleast 2 months if not more
Honestly I'm not gonna even buy it for a long time maybe ever.
In protest
@@althepsyphros3314 nahh u trippin for sure
PRO TIP AND I DONT NEED 1000S OF HOURS OF WHATEVER....
DONT BUY IT.
Its shit, try it on gamepass and realise how garbage it is then walkaway
That's definitely one way to go about it
I dont buy this games is not work
Hopefully with the update in a few days will address a lot of the issues
Ms Flight simulator 2024 stinks. The future of pc gaming is not looking good.
It has it's pros and cons for sure
Yeah if you want quality ATC that is 10/10 for IFR flights, give SayIntentions AI a try. sayintentions.ai/join#67477c61dcf46
