I'm an idiot, don't do what I do.
It is what it is, I guess. This is about all I can do with it, currently. Another garbage find. Borrowed the monitor, keyboard and power cord from the earlier posted media center.
hi
are you sure you are using the same monitor you were using the last it did works.
unlike newer version of windows, win xp is not able to ajust the resolution down.
you have to start xp in safe mode ( F8 key at post. and select safe mode )
even if in safe mode the resolution is already low go to resolution setting set the resultion to the lowest 640x480 or 800x600. VALIDATE the new setting
or/and goto device manager and delete the screen. ( not the video card. but the screen ).
restart to normal mode. then set the resolution back the maximum your new screen can handle ( to get rid of the blurry display )
also make sure to not select other than 60Hz on the first place.
you can adjust horizontally. I guess you are using a vga cable 😊
it's because the original screen was a crt monitor set to a higher refresh rate than 60Hz and probably also an higher resolution
720x400 is the low resolution used in text mode but when Windows want to swith to an higher resolution that was set with the old monitor.
don't put it in the garbage. it was a very common issue when you did swap the monitor
@@bmoby7313 okay, I'm going to try this out. Thank you, very much!
@@bmoby7313 honestly, it's already been in the garbage. I plan on seeing what I can do with it.
@@bmoby7313 not sure I can get into safe mode, red LED flashes five times, repeats before startup.
