- Welcome back to Black and White in Alaska. We are Alex and Craig and we are living in Fairbanks, Alaska. We invite you to join us in our Alaskan journey during this last stretch of the winter where temperatures can range between -20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit in only a couple of days.

And here is our German Potato Pancake Recipe from our last video
Ingredients:
- 1 kg potatoes, grated and drained
- 2 eggs
- 1 grated onion
- 3 table spoons flour
-salt, pepper, nutmeg
Mix all ingredients to a dough. Heat oil in a pan and fry.

Oh my gosh I want to live this so bad! I would give anything to have your life! I’m 36, a single mom, domestic abusive survivor and live in the Midwest where it’s so hot. To live around gorgeous mountains, snow, and far better food along with the amazing winter weather would be a blessing! Thank you for sharing a part of your daily life…and that soup looked absolutely amazing!
We are so sorry to hear about your domestic abuse and hope you are in a better position now. It is not easy to raise children on your own. Alaska is a wonderful place and a good place to heal for Craig from things he has seen from his deployments. Sending you lots of strength, love and peace from Alaska.
@@blackandwhiteinalaska thank you for your kind words! Yes, it is very tough raising two children alone but they give me so much purpose and drive to keep pushing forward. My son is almost 14 and my daughter is almost 3 so quite the age gap but big brother is amazing help! We are definitely in a much better place emotionally as it’s been almost 2 years I finally got out of that relationship and sadly I put up with it for almost 15 years. I thank your husband for his service, fighting for our country and will keep him in my thoughts as I understand the impacts of PTSD from several friends suffering with it as well. Deployment is already difficult especially when you have a spouse and/or family but to witness awful things can absolutely stick with the mind. The beautiful environment out there in Alaska I’m sure is helpful in many ways! Much love from Missouri ❤️

Love hearing your accent and German spoken. Ganz super das Du deine Sohnen Deutsch gelehert hast! (My German is rusty...hoffentlich hast du mir richtig verstanden.) I taught w DoDDS at Bitburg & Spangdahlem yrs ago. Now serve our Veterans at local VA Med Center.

We have a lot of daylight in the summer. Since approximately 5 years we have Costco here in town . They opened it after Sam’s club closed. closed.
Do your kids go to West Valley? WV and UAF alumni here. The food looks wunderbar.
