- Sorry about the darkness. More windows and lighting for the next trip.
I remember lying in our tents as we were building this cabin, dreaming of the day we could see it painted under the Aurora.
This trip almost didn't happen but I'm very thankful that everyone's schedules lined up, and for the marketplace find of the snowmachine/trailer/sled package deal.
Thanks for watching!

the Neighbor is the clutchest person in this series and his house is my dream house
I lived in AK for 14 years. From 21 to 35 and some of the best days of my life. It’s a land like no other. Even as beautiful as Montana, Idaho and Wyoming are, nothing tops AK. This channel should have so many more subscribers!
Amen man.
The UA-cam algorithm gods brought me to this channel. Folks don't know what they're missing
Ah yes, ak, kalashnikov, my favorite firearm
I’ve also been living in Alaska for 14 years from birth to now 😅
Not better than idaho
I'm in Anchorage, truck+trailer+tools and stuff if you ever need any help for free. Great job!
That’s cool of you.
Hey, Deadmen! It would be cool to get some context on the process of obtaining your land, its associated costs, and the total size of it. Very, very interested in this! Great work guys!
It's not much different from buying a house. For me : I found a property I liked; wrote down the MLS info and any additional info about it including the realtor person (and the company the realtor was with) who was representing the seller; went to another realtor company (usually best practice to *_not_* use the same realtor company as the seller); handed them the info and told them, "I want this." After that, your realtor will ask you to give them an _earnest deposit_ (usually a check for something like 2 to 3K dollars that shows that you are "earnest"-ie., you are being serious about your intentions-that will later be taken out of the sale price-ie., you get it "back" by not having to pay that much money from whatever the sell price is; if you don't end up buying it after all for legit reasons, you get the money back directly). After that, your realtor contacts the seller's realtor, and negotiations begin. You get to look at the property, find out any details about it, if there are any easements on it, etc. For land, usually a surveyor will go out to the property to check and mark the boundaries (usually at the seller's expense). You will give them an offer (often you will offer slightly less than asking price, but nothing insulting) and the seller will usually give a counter offer (unless you just agree to what they are asking from the start). Usually it is good to accept the counter-offer (your realtor will give you advice on all this, and do the direct negations for you on your directions). If you are offering paying in full, when it comes to signing over the land into your name, you hand them the check. If you are doing some kind of loan with the bank-I'm not sure on the details, but I think your realtor can help you out on that. Once the paperwork is signed, it has to be registered with the county (the title company doing the signing process with you will do this automatically). Generally, your realtor will guide you through each step and work with you to get your land. After signing, you own land (if it was still 1790s United States, you also would finally be allowed to vote-non-land owners wouldn't get that right for a few decades). You will get a notice in the mail from the county about the registration, probably a short survey, and they will inform you about when you will need to pay property tax for the next year. Prices for land can vary a lot. It can be 500-1000$/acre for some properties, 10s or even 100s of K $/acre for others, so search well. I would say avoid properties overrun by scraggly black spruce trees (usually a sign of boggy ground). Properties with birch and aspen are likely good. When you are first searching for a property you like, use Google Maps set to satellite view to get a better idea of what the property is like.
Man definitely love your guys content. There’s more than just a video. Theres so much stuff to appreciate . From outdoors, doing what you love, the workmanship, to the brotherhood, and to me what I value is the time you guys put into this. Much appreciate this . I rewatch the videos multiple times. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you Mark. I really appreciate that
Your welcome I’m glad I came across your guys channel. I enjoy watching a lot of other stuff but. Your guys stuff has a lot more to it.
Great footage. It’s much like what my brothers and his friends do in Alaska. They did it all: built a cabin in bush area along with a shed, trapped, hunted grizzly, black bear, moose, caribou, dall sheep. Camped, fished, hunted, got cord wood, all of that. It’s what you do when you grow up and live in Alaska. You live the wilderness lifestyle. Nothing better in this world.
A suggestion for filming in the darker areas, especially winter and in the cabin at night. Get some bike LED lights that mount on tripods with external batteries.
I like when you take a moment to just paint, it's very soothing.
I'm so glad you guys experienced AK in the winter. I've always said "the snow birds get to see a great part of AK during the summer. But God's gift to those who stay, is the northern lights". Can't wait to get more content this summer! Supposed to be an early one.
An LED light chain will transform the cabin into a cozy place.
Traveling to Iceland this summer and there's a chance I'll get to see Northern Lights at night. So happy you guys got to see them in your own domain. Feels like Mother Nature reserving her rare gift of night light for only those brave enough to face the cold. Hats off! Thanks for the rad videos.
I live in VA, and they were just here 2 weeks ago, except I didn't know until the day after. Some people got amazing pictures and it's a bucket list for me, I can't believe I didn't know
I feel like you've all got itch now. The North, be it Alaska, the Yukon, NWT, or Nunavut in Canada gets into you and stays there deep down. The prospectors, and miners, trappers, they all felt it. Any Jack London story is gonna give you that same feeling.
Your content is rad, not like the other stuff that's super edited and doesn't feel as genuine as your Lord of the Cabin series.
Plus you're all pretty funny, I feel like you'd all fit in as locals. Living in the north is almost like being at sea, we get pretty twisted with the humor.
I love that you raised the American flag at your cabin. It’s like the cherry on top 🇺🇸
And Josh your art is great!! I love those cabin paintings, they are beautiful
Still at work for the next 2 hours, but will absolutely be watching this in its entirety when I'm back available. Always love your videos!
I’ve enjoyed and been proud of you all for doing this…I wish more young people would do this…it’s so many life lessons and we will need all this knowledge in yrs to come…proud of you boys ….👍👍👍👍
This is my first time watching. Makes me proud to see you flying old Glory at your cabin.
I dont know how I missed this upload, I think it happens when people announce a premier and then I never see it again. Just thought about it two months later and i'm glad i found it!
So nice to see young men living out this great adventure, the way men before them did. Welcome to Alaska!
Would love to see a video showcasing more of your artwork. I loved to see the clips of your cabin paintings. It was a great touch!
Looking forward to a summertime cabin video on the chance you'll be able to get up there!
Pretty sure I’ve seen everyone of y’all‘s videos, and I am extremely impressed and entertained! Top quality stuff…. You deserve 1 million subscribers.
32:26 O MY WORD... 😯 This is the MOST BREATHTAKING night time-lapse i've EVER seen here on yt !! Wow...
And mega happy to see you guys back! Missed you!
I have been checking up regularly to see if I had missed out on something and here you guys are!
I literally was lucky to be there at your first upload about the cabin of you'll and love the bond you'll have and hopefully you'll still have with the others..
I miss them too..
But, super happy to see you making this adventure, 10 hours driving and 3 hours extra with a snowmobile... that is no joke, especially when the temps are low!
You got the best out of a week worth!
Another week worthwhile looking back at and the cabin looks fantastic!
You'll made a fine job of her if she's still standing strong 💪
Thanks guys, I really loved watching this (although 1 tip Josh, please get a LED light for filming so we can see inside the cabin when you film, it is sadly too dark 😳 i'm sorry, don't want to be negative, it is positive feedback, it's just dark in wintertime )
Hopefully we'll see you soon again, this was wayyyy too long 😆
I'm going to watch that time-lapse again!! Absolutely A MAZE ING !!
Edit, do I forget the thing I too wanted to say, the cooking of Chef Dash? Jummy!! 👌
And the Art... I wished that I had that in me, I love it!!
Thanks for the wonderful comment! Yeah I definitely agree we needed a better lighting set up. Sean and Cody were sad they couldn’t come too. Work and UA-cam are hard to balance. Thanks for always watching the videos! We appreciate that
@@Deadmen. You are welcome 👍☠😁
Yeeeeeaaahhh!!!! Im so happy you guys visited and are able to do more videos. This is fantastic!!! Its really cool to see whats possible in building with just your mind and the forest. Thanks to your awesome neighbor for helping. Its awesome to see everybody supporting you guys adventure. God Bless!!!
Guys, i watched all of your videos and first i gotta say that I love your friendship it’s so pure. Secondly, I have noticed that you don’t behave as much as your typical American (i worked and lived in the US for a year only though) but your jokes, sarcasm, reasoning is super close to Czech people (especially to my Boy Scout group). I don’t know what you will take from this comment but once again you are amazing and I love watching your videos. May your friendship lasts eternally!!
that kind of behavior is pretty common here among friends. Maybe not strangers, but anybody you know pretty well that kind of stuff happens.
My heritage is Czech which is pretty funny you commented that. Thanks for watching!
Who cares about the filming, y'all should be proud that is f****** badass. Something you did by hand, and experienced it in the snow. I teach my kids hard work will always win.
finaly some good bushcrafting, i realy miss this in other bushcraft videos sadly that the trips are so short. great job
Hey guys. I've watched all your cabin videos now. I think the build was awesome. And so are the videos! I think Dick Proenneke would be proud of you guys man. I have a remote cabin in AK myself. I also have a Sherp. If you ever want to try driving to your cabin in the the summer time, give me a shout!
Thanks for watching! That would be awesome. We’ve thought about the sherp before, but theirs a fast flowing river crossing to do which I’m not sure the sherp could handle. Shoot us an email if you want to talk more about it. 👍🏼
You have a SHERP!???? OK, I'm your next best friend! lol Must be cool to have one that;s for sure....
I see there's a new Deadmen video, I watch it instantly!
Great to see the cabin still standing strong 😊
That was fantastic. Thank you for making these videos.
Truly excellent work. Both video and cabin building. You guys work well together great references to the Hobbit series, my long time favorites. And the reference to Pink Floyd. Keep up the videos. Wis I were there.
Love breaking trail and digging sleds out! Builds character!
Y’all having a blast together/ surviving isn’t something people want to do that’s awesome love yas channel
I visit AK every year, spent 6 weeks in homer last summer fishing. Really appreciate seeing Old Glory raised. You boys stay safe
Looks like an amazing potential for great content...ALWAYS BE SAFE!! THANKS
Another great video. Great northern lights. Loved the flag. Thank you again for your service.
As warm as it was in there just think hiw much warmer it can be with some good winterization! Fill up all the cracks and get a good roof on. Maybe even some ither kind if flooring to go over just the wood planks. But great job so far. Semper Fi from an old Marine
The floors where they’re loosing heat. That many gaps need to be filled. The roof with that snow blanket is well insulated. The walls look to be holding well.
Just discovered you 2. Great cabin! Thx for flying Ole Glory! ✝️🇺🇸✝️
Cheers from Australia
So great to see y'all back at the cabin.
I REALLY TRUELY LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S OF LORD OF THE CABINS. I HAVE TO SAY I WISHED IT WOULD ENDED. THANK FOR THE ADVENTURE WITH YOU GUYS. TAKE CARE I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE VIDEO'S
Thanks for making the effort going there in winter and sharing with us all. Next trip take a extra couple of led lights for the cabin. I know your roughing it and its great but i would love to see whats going on more in the cabin while cooking and just doing your upgrades.
Thanks guys great work
Watched all your videos keep ‘em coming fantastic
Great friendships, great times.
You young guys have such great attitudes........plus that "can do" mentality. Greatly enjoyed your cabin videos. Take care, y'all...........from Alabama
the weather is cold... thank you for sharing this beautiful scene 👍
You are absolutely living the dream
Love it! And Josh’s infamous door hinges stood! 😂
What I would like to experience myself one day is the clear night sky with northern lights, we have lots of light pollution in Europe. Always loved looking at stars and wondering what's out there. Very scenic video, thanks!
Watching this in New Orleans tucked over a bowl of gumbo and I still feel cold.
These videos are so good. You guys are a great bunch of friends, very much enjoyed your cabin series!
Those neighbors are nice, similar to the folks we have here in montana, they would do anything to help you guys get established and show you the ins and outs of thriving up there.
Nice video. I like the new stove and the chimney. I hope in the summer when you all 4 go back up there, you should dig some fighting positions and put a couple of watch towers and eventually fortress wall all around the perimeter. Make it into a military fort 😃😁
I get the feeling that these guys are there to relax and decompress from their service days. Sharing and camaraderie. Not mental paranoia and turmoil.
Watching from Southern California desert. Nice cello thank you.
PS I don't think that's stove is big enough.
this is so much fun to watch. my family has a summer cabin that we used to go to in the winter for new years. not as remote as your cabin of course, but still plenty remote for central Idaho. This video reminded me of those times with my family. it's already a favorite place of ours in the summer, but someday i'll take my daughter up there n the winter.
Thanks for sharing the adventures.
I just want to say you guys are doing what most people will never get to do truly amazing and love the videos please keep doing more
Project idea: shed for the snow machine along with anything else that you need stored
Woah *spoiler alert*
영상 잘보고 갑니다 한편의 영화 같아요
응원드립니다
Nice cabin. Hope you have many years of enjoyment.
When are you guys Posting Again?? Your my 2nd favorite UA-cam Channel. I love the GRIT, I love the Joy, I love the Progress!! When are you guys going back? Looking forward to it
The voles sealed their and their families fate when they touched those tortilas. Keep doing the good work guys!
You guys videos are probably my favorite because they’re exactly what my friends and I would have done 10-15 years ago. Please find every excuse to do this continuously throughout your lives or you’ll fall out of the habit and see each other less and less trust me.
Loved this. It was great to see the cabin again, and naturally, I had all the confidence in your building skills and that she would still be standing.
Quality video shots, too. Fantastic.
I was just thinking about this. Thought I would check in and what do you know a new episode. LETS GOOOOOO (like if you are exited)
Rapidly becoming my favorite channel
This is just so amazing, thank you guys so much for bringing us along!
Another great video. We need more of them though. Thanks for letting us tag along.
I really love watching your videoes! Seems like a once in a lifetime experience. Def. wish I could do this one day.
I could watch the full uncut version of these for hours
So glad you boys are back with another adventure definitely want to see more of y’all’s vids maybe next the whole squad will be back
Those door hinges would make Dick P. nod in approval! Well Done!
Great video showcasing the cold and dark winter! Love the ingenuity and problem solving!
I really liked this video and will soon watch the others.
look forward to the spring/summer vid coming up, just finished the series and damn, what an experience!?
Hey guys just a survival tip. Your heat source should always be at the level of your sleeping arrangement as a stove won’t warm anything below it in extreme cold. I winter camp in tents and even with a stove too big for the tent if the stove is too high you freeze at night. Be safe so you can enjoy years of adventures guys. Love the journey so far.
Thank you for sharing y’all’s journeys. I’ve enjoyed following along! Alaska is amazing.
Best wishes from Australia, the environment is harsh here but nothing like the great white north. Big fan of the channel and hope to visit Alaska next time i'm stateside
Great to see you guys so stoked to be up there in winter, the northern lights footage was incredible
Cheers 🍻
Looks just like home (northern Sweden)
Would like to see all four of yas next time
Us too.
Hi Deadmen.
I’m subscribed but don’t know how I missed this video but found it when you released the latest video.
Love the cabin series. You’re incredible and I admire your adventure. Thanks for taking us along!

Will watch this later, keep em coming!
Awesome vid Josh
Thanks Jake!
You are living my dream! Great video, looking forward to more 🤙🏼
An Argo 8x8 with snow tracks can get through any trail with a 1000lbs of gear and food and won't get stuck. Those snow mobiles can only do so much, and it's not as much as an Argo 8x8.
Did I mention an Argo os Amphibious and you can fish out of it like a 4 man boat?
Great video more please
Loving the content. Can't wait for the next one.
I love this series so much!
Looks like a lot of fun!
It's about time yall posted your video, ugh I've been super excited
